Hotel is located in a great position. The staff and amenities are at a high standard and food and drink pricing at the bar are very reasonable. Gym and pool are at a high standard. Found all staff to be very accommodating.
We received a complimentary upgrade upon arrival which was a nice gesture from the reception staff. This hotel is well located, only 10 mins walk from the main train station. The main attractions of the city are in walkable distance. I was very satisfied with the breakfast arranged and the room service was excellent. If I visit Germany in the future definetly will stay again.
I scheduled a visit here for a meeting in Bonn. It was a great location close to the town square and walking distance to everything. The breakfast was amazing and the evening bar was a great place to spend the social hour with coworkers. The hostel is on the Rhine and you can walk right out the back door and go for a walk or a run with an epic view. The proximity to the road worried me a little because of potential road noise, but the room was quiet and quaint. I look forward to staying g here again in the near future.
I arrived from Frankfurt (took the train to Seigburg, then the tram to Bonn and noticed I could get off at a stop before the actual main station for an easy few block walk to the hotel), but my room wasn't ready yet. I sat in the very nice lobby and got some work done with the free wifi connection. When my room was ready (still earlier than normal check in time of 3pm), the front desk staff came and got me, checked me in and gave me a different room than I had requested via the online check in. When I got to the room (469), I realized it was in a bit of a separate area and was connected (outside of the room) to a dining area and this cool spiral staircase up to a little glass box of a space with a TV and entertainment system, and 360 view of the Rhine and the rooftops of the city. Perfect for checking out the sunset. When I got in the room, it was HUGE, had a bathrobe and slippers, and even a Nespresso machine! There were tons of windows and a little balcony overlooking the courtyard, with a view to the river. The hotel is located very conveniently not only to the river, but a few minutes walk to Beethoven house and some pedestrian shopping areas and market squares and restaurants. It was Sunday so most things were closed. I didn't find anywhere open that I really wanted to eat at, so I walked back to the hotel and ate at the lobby bar for dinner. The other surprise was that breakfast was included in my rate, and it was a lovely breakfast buffet down in the restaurant on the first floor. Anyhow, everything was great - wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely go back. The staff was friendly, spoke great English (and other languages as far as I could tell from my time waiting in the lobby area), and the hotel was clean, comfortable and well located for my purposes.Thank you!
Pros: Clean and professionally run. The reception and cleaning staff were polite and lovely to deal with. The rooms were comfortable with modern furnishings. Cons: Even though our party of 3 people were the only ones in the lobby bar, the bartender was incredibly rude and unresponsive when I requested that he change the music to a more calm sound as the music that was on was martial in nature, and repeating itself (running in a loop). Very strange for hotel staff to refuse a simple request in a rude manner.
We stayed for 4 nights at the Hilton Bonn. Check in was fast, although I had to enroll in the Hilton Honor programm to get free wifi. The location of the hotel is very good. The only negative thing was the in hotel parking, which was expensive (25 Euros per night).
Have stayed at the Hilton Bonn numerous times and will continue to do so when visiting Bonn. Very decent business hotel, comfortable rooms, friendly service. My highlight is the daily breakfast which offers a great selection also for me a s Vegan.
Spent one night on business trip in Hilton, Bonn. The service, the room were just all correct. What I want to highlight is the level of the breakfast. The variety and quality of foods and drinks were very appealing. An elegant experience.
Hotel is located in the city center, by the river, 5 min walk to old town and 15 min walk to the train station. Airport bus stop is within 5 min walk. Rooms are not very spacious, but not small either. Depending on the room windows will look in the courtyard or street. Few things to note: mini bar was empty and you could pick up staff from the reception if you wanted to. How about being thirsty at 2 in the morning in your underwear? Another thing is that there was no shoe horn. I realize this is not a mandatory accessory, but for a Hilton is probably a must. And the last BIG thing is that make sure your room is close to the wifi router. Mine was not and the internet was VERY bad.
Probably a good hotel for conferences; perhaps that is what they gear their service to. But if you come as individual tourist, expect to have to ask for basic info and definitely look for another place to eat in the evening. First the good: Rooms are clean and relatively spacious. Then the rest, all related to mediocre service: I’d booked a double room with twin beds, was given a double with king sized and upon returning to desk to request the correction, had to listen to reception get permission from their manager to make the change—would suggest empowering your front staff to not make the guest feel like they have to prove themselves. Parking garage is extra fee, to tune of 39 euro’s a night; that in and of itself is no surprise, but I found myself having to chase down the info that the parking meters in the garage were broken and that if paying with bills (advisable at a 39 euro / night charge....) best to validate ur ticket at front desk. Seems like this is information they should have offered up front, rather than making me a time consuming trip back and forth. Tried to have birthday dinner for my 94 year old mother in the restaurant, and coulnd’t get through to staff there to make a reservation. Then when we arrived, the place was virtually empty except for one table taken, and still the staff wouldn’t let us sit at the table of our choice. Overnight, the room was too cold for y 94 year old mother, but there appeared to be no way to regulate it in the room myself. I tried to make sure to hang up towels so they wouldn’t be laundered the first night (envirornmental measure, as instructed on the card that the hotel grandly puts out) but still, all towels laundered. Looks like this hotel is big on some kind of an iefficiency system for what they need, but very poorly responsive to specific situations. Call me old fashioned but when I’m paying about $300 for a double room per night, i expect the service to be treated like a real guest, with ta sense that there are real people responding to your situation. Finally, I have to say that the wifi at this hotel was just awful. I had to do a bit of work related computing on this family trip and found I just couldn’t using the hotel’s wifi with my iPad. So free wifi was theoretically available, but in practice, no. Frankly, I ’ve had a significantly better wifi experience in places like the Gill Air islands off of Lombok/Bali, Indonesia (fairly remote, certainly not a European city that just hosted a major climate change conference). Unless you just want a relatively generic room in a generic mediocre-service quality hotel, I’d suggest trying a different place. I will be. (BTW while front desk staff do speak English, I speak German and have lived in Germany for years in the past. All of this was definitely not an issue of language OR cultural barrier. That said, I pity the tourists who do walk in to this hotel with no German command—I”d have to assume they’d be really having to fend for themselves with very little in the way of gracious, proactive help. Again, a disappointment for an expensive luxury hotel.
