Hilton Bonn4.0 out of 5.0

I have stayed several times at this hotel and the location is excellent. Very close to the city central and shopping (easily walkable), as well as tram stops. Right on the Rhein, so great for running and walking as well. Internet service was intermittent, but this was hosted by third party, so I have some sympathy with the hotel not being able to fix it to my satisfaction. Very good breakfast, but a bit pricey. Parking is underground and requires normal European careful placement of your car to enter, leave and park in the garage (very narrow). Just go slow and it is fine.
this is a good value Hilton in an excellent location in Bonn city centre with its own swimming pool and sauna, the gym is excellent by hotel standards. Bonn is a nice relaxed German city to visit. This hotel is up to usual Hilton standards of service and reliability
Ok, I am there basically every week. The place is not bad, but I do not even know where to start when it comes to customer service. They are definitely not trained to Hilton standards (and I am in hiltons every week), understaffed and frankly quite rude sometime. Where do I start among my multiple stay? 1) Room service/food service is really BAD: 1.1) I cannot eat cheese, call room service to get a salad without cheese and/or cream. I wish I could record the reaction of the person .. "Really? How do I go and tell chef to do that now?" and I was ... "well like every other week your colleague does! What's the problem?" I was very annoyed! Room service comes and there was not fruit salad I ordered ... did not even bother to ask for it. 1.2) Last week I call for same salad. Salad comes and it has cheese. Wait another 20 minutes. 1.3) Colleague of mine asks for pizza. Pizza never arrives and he hears nothing from reception. After one hour calls reception and they tell him they had wrong room. They make new pizza -> of course with wrong ingredients! 1.4) Breakfast team understaffed: you may wait in line 5/10 minutes for somebody to check if you have bfast included or not in your room charge because same person goes around table to clean and do other duties 1.5) Have you ever seen an empty minibar? Well you ll have a chance here 2) Check in desk: 2.1) Few people trained well for excellent customer service; 2.2) Understaffed again! Most of time 1 person only even during peak hours. You may wait there >15 minutes! 3) Laundry service" 3.1) I left a laundry bag, came back in the room after some hours and found out that the laundry was not taken. I called reception and I was told that they do not collect laundry bags during weekend. Now, on the laundry paper (see picture, just before signature) it is clearly stated that "These services are not available during Sundays and Bank Holiday". There is no mention whatsoever of Saturdays. That means that I wasnt to have clean shirts for Monday morning for work. Of course, if only the paper would have the right writing all this could be avoided since I could have simply left the laundry bag yesterday! They did laundry for me on Sunday then ... but you can imagine the mess. 4) Balconies dirty and old: Just check the picture for that 5) No slippers unless you ask for it! Every time I have been staying at Hilton Bonn I had to ask to have a pair of slippers since they were never in the room. I mean I could literally go on and on on all the things wrong in this hotel. The point is that nothing is terrible but for the level of service and infrastructure they provide, they should be allowed to charge no more than half of the price they charge and then maybe I would be fine. We come to the Hilton Bonn as company trips and we have decided to switch to another hotel due to how dissatisfied we all are when it comes to their service.
The hotel is as you expect from a Hilton; there were no setbacks, breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel is very close to the city centre. Easy to get there by foot, car or tram. Only the parking is quite expensive.
This was my second stay at the Hilton Bonn and I have nothing but excellent things to stay! Both stays I have arrived very early & tired from an overseas flight. The staff is so helpful at getting me access to the lockers to change and the lounge to hang out in until they can get a room ready. I usually takes until midday to get in my room, but that's still way early for the posted check in. This trip they gave me the best upgrade I have ever received from a Hilton Honor property ever! It is greatly appreciated and did not go unnoticed! The location is amazing, right on the river! It is also an easy walk to anywhere in Bonn. The hotel is very clean and kept up. Breakfast was fantastic! There was so much food and it was all good. This is a great hotel, made better by a great location, made even better by a great great staff. Thank you Hilton Bonn! I will return.
As soon as we arrived at the Hilton Bonn, we knew we were getting a better class of service. Warmly greeted by Mohammed at the door, despite being hot and sweaty on our bikes, we were effortlessly checked in, taken to the cycle store, and then shown to our rooms. A large room with everything you could want - comfortable bed, great bathroom, wifi, kettle, air conditioning, fridge, loads of space, and the bonus of our own sound system. The pool was wonderfully cooling and calm (bathrobes, towels and slippers are provided). We had the hotel breakfast next morning - a typical business-class German hotel breakfast buffet, with literally everything - from make-your-own smoothies, through fruit, breads, pastries, cooked meals and sparkling wine. All in all, our stay certainly lived up to expectations - a calm and professional overnight in a large city centre hotel. A special mention for the smiling and efficient Lisa who always seemed to ready to help at the front desk. €110 for the room was certainly good value for money. Breakfast is an extra €20, and well worth it if you are looking for something to set you up for the day. Definitely recommended.
The hotel was decent. The reason I did not give a great or an outstanding is for two reasons. The first is due to the fact that I had to pay for parking at the hotel. As a guest I should not have to pay for parking at the hotel. It seems like the hotel was just trying to get every little cent out of the guest that it can squeeze. The second is due to the two single beds in the room. I suppose I am use to the states, because if you stay in a hotel in the states they have double or queen size beds in a double bed room. So it caught me off guard and although it was my fault for not reading the fine print, it was still a bit disappointing that the beds were so small. Other then that the hotel was good. it is in a great location, with access to all the hot spots in Bonn. We will not be staying here again due to the parking charge (26.00 Euro a day).
From the facade it does looks a little old, repainting works is still in progress. The room is spacious, clean and the staff is really friendly. Breakfast is really great too! 10 mins walk from Bonn Hbf and city centre. 5mins walk to the ferry landing point to start your Rhine Cruise! The only thing I could suggest is adding lightings to the balcony. It can get really dark in the night.
Hilton quality is THE QUALITY. Large rooms nice services. Fantastic SPA and gym. We had the upgrade for free and it means you can have lots of additional benefits. Staff was pleasant. The hotel is close to the river and to the city center. Basically you can walk to the most popular places. Everything was ok.
