Stayed there on our holiday trip to Birmingham, and we left satisfied. Not outstandingly excellent, but this is what we expect in a Holiday Inn: friendly helpful staff, clean room with comfy bed, delicious meal for breakfast. Nothing to complain at all.
We have visited this hotel on 4 occasions for business trips with 10-15 guests and we have never been let down. The rooms are clean, staff are very helpful and the location is great for the NEC arena. We always book our rooms including breakfast which is also pretty good. No complaints from us. Staff have also allowed us to send deliveries which they have kept safely for us which is an added incentive.
Stayed as an overnight stop en route to the airport. Very impressed. Room was a good size, bathroom was well equipped & very clean. Parking was secure. We ate dinner on site & it was tasty & good value. The kitchen isn’t open every night but apparently the hotel are happy for guests to order takeaways & will even supply plates & cutlery. All the staff were very pleasant & efficient. There is a notice in the lift telling guests when the busy times are at breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
I was there on a business trip for UK Games Expo. It's clean; beds are comfortable, the staff is polite and helpful. In one sentence, everything in the right order and exactly as in the offer. Thank you.
Now i am not one to complain and i think this is going to be my worst review yet. But if its bad it is bad. I have stayed in hotels that very in price and star so I’m not a snob at all! I get that this was £49 a night and you cant expect too much but this is what i expect from a hotel. Firstly the car park prices differ for a guest if they book thru their website they can get it at a discounted rate of £4 instead of the £7 we had to pay. This is because they become a member of some sort, this is absolutely pathetic that you can charge 2 different rates and i couldn’t get the £4 charge because i booked thru booking.com lol! Even if its £3 difference or £30 difference its the principle. My 2nd complain about this place was what we had to sleep on!!! I have never slept on anything so uncomfortable in my life!! Has the mattress ever been changed since they opened the place? Because i really think they need to look into this!! My back is still in bits and having to drive 3 hours and 150+ miles i was not impressed! My 3rd complain was the breakfast, what an absolute shambles! If i had to pay for it i would of been fuming!! Firstly theres no where to sit, so you may be waiting in the waiting area for 5/10/15 mins till a table becomes free. Then you may be waiting for another 10/15 mins for the table to be cleaned when you sit on it. There was one lady doing absolutely everything single handily!! I felt so sorry for her i wanted to help out! Her attitude towards people was getting worse. And why? Because she was rushed off her bloody feet! For a breakfast that offers 3 hot items well lol they had no beans, no sausages and the egg was cold and hardly anything there. So yeah you will wait another 15 mins for them to bring that out to you, so you could be waiting an hour from getting down to breakfast. Eating. And leaving, also quorn sausages are cooked to order so had to wait a while for that. The only good thing about this place is the speedy checkout, just said the room number and that was it cya.. like couldn’t wait to get rid of us. All in all worst trip to a holiday inn
I went to Birmingham just this weekend with my boyfriend for an event (DoTA2) at the Arena. It was out first time in Birmingham and we were looking for places to stay. We did book somewhere waaaay cheaper but when i checked thw review, i wasn’t impressed. I booked Holiday Inn for 4 days and 3 nights with just a bit more difference (£60)than the other one. When we arrived in our room, there was no microwave and no fridge BUT the staffs were friendly, very helpful, parking was charged per day hence we parked somewhere else after our first night. Complimentary breakfast, room service, staffs, kitchen/breakfast staffs, all really good. The room was clean, bathroom was always cleaned. Only problem probably was (exc the parking being charged) there were towels on our window and when it rained, I realised what it was for. I heard raindrops in our room which woke me up yesterday morning. Other than that, great experience with Holiday Inn South (birmingham)
Very convenient hotel with good room, bed, bathroom and breakfast.Next to busy road but sound insulated, although a noisy AC kept us awake. Clean and comfortable, easy to find and close to airport. Very good.
Very poor service experienced from front of house. Staff overstretched & therefore inattentive to guests. This still does not excuse rudeness. Redeeming feature was the food next door - recommended by one professional staff member on reception. I definitely will not be returning.
I had never stayed in a Holiday Inn before and was very impressed by the room when we arrived. It was absolutely huge with a massive shower and even bigger bed. There is complimentary breakfast included and parking available at a cost. Overall we had a fabulous stay here but unfortunately we were kept awake by issues with our tv and children in nearby rooms screaming from the early hours which was a shame. I was still very impressed by the quality of the room and how helpful the staff were so I will definitely be looking to stay in a Holiday Inn again!
Used for a stopover for the night and close to our parking before we flew the next day on an early flight. Great location with lots of amenities within walking distance. Nice comfortable rooms with extremely helpful friendly staff.
