Nice hotel, rooms has all you may need, and Concierge is more than ready to help you in your needs. Breakfast buffet has also eastern and western options for you to choose. I recomend this hotel for bussines trips.
Just finished a couple days at the Westing Chaoyang and it was a good experience. The front desk agent spoke good English and although I didn't receive an upgraded room it was sufficient and an easy place to work. I found the food service/restaurant staff also spoke good English but not so much for the rest of the hotel. I received a complimentary pressing of my cloths. Since I was there to give a speech I thought this might come in handy but explains to the bellman who came to my room when I need the clothes back as a Herculean task. They also decided they should charge me since it was same day service....whcih I suppose is fine...the pressing was well done. If your a workout person consider using the Westin Workout amenity. For a few bucks you get clothes to work out in including shoes so you don't need to carry them with you. Oh, and the gym there is really fabulous! I will stay here again!
I've lived and traveled in China for 12 years now. In that time, my wife and I went from just the two of us, to a family with 3 kids! In all our years of travel; in many countries and especially within China, we have never found a better hotel than the Westin. The service and dedication to their guests is far above any other 5 star hotel that I have used. The buffet, amenities, room cleanliness and comfort is already a given each time we use the Westin, especially the Westin, Chaoyang but its the dedication and way of conduct of the people working in the Westin from the worker at the door to the Managers that really make an impression for my family and I. I wish them continued success and can guarantee that I will continue to use the Westin chains each time I visit a new place! Thank you! ~ Don and Family
First the good: quick and cheap taxi ride from the airport, nice bathrooms, nice sized rooms with nice amenities. The bad: for the price, I think the service could be much improved. We arrived late for a one day transit stay so time was at a premium. It took 20 minutes to check in and I was the only guest in line. I have some status with SPG so this was a disappointment. No upgrade was offered as far as I could tell. We were discouraged from taking a walk to see the area late that night. We left early the next morning to see some sights and I was assured that a cab would be the way to go from the Forbidden City. Perhaps the concierge should know that the entire Forbidden City Area seems to be controlled by a corrupt gang of taxi drivers that set exorbitant rates for foreigners. Also the concierge should know that Sanlitun Street is not "no longer in existence." Disappointing stay. I won't stay in another SPG branded hotel in China. Try the New World Beijing.
This business hotel is good. Nothing special about it. It’s a standard business hotel. Staff is efficient. Rooms are ok. Nothing charming about them. Lots of Chinese TV channel. Not a lot of international ones. Room dining menu is almost the same is every Westin in the world. Nothing interesting or particularly appealing. I held an event in the hotel. Event staff are professional and accommodating. Meeting rooms are ok. No natural light. Lighting is not very customisable. Coffee break food is good. There were some renovation work in the building that day with drilling noise. But I think it was just for a couple of days. Recommended for business trips, not for leisure trips.
I spent two nights in a corner room (over 60 square meter). I cant't say anthing but good, or the best. Everything was over the expectation. There was a foot massage equpment in the room, what I really enjoyed after a long business day. The hotel location is good for business, just by the underground, but you cannot reach anything interesting on foot. (Which is not really an expectation in Beijing). The overall impression is excellent.
West in Chaoyang is in a superb location in CBD Beijing. They have upgrade me to a standard suite overlooking Khunlun hotel and the ring road. There is a shopping mall adjacent to this hotel and is very convenient. Breakfast is very good and the club lounge is exceptional with fantastic views.
I often stay here and it is one of the better hotels in Beijing. But - there is always a lot of waiting time to check in and to check out. The staff is friendly but quite useless. It is also a little too overpriced. The lounge is nice with a beautiful view and if you get a better than standard room they are great. The breakfast is excellent.
Westin Beijing Chaoyang is located in an easy accessible location in Beijing. Rooms are larger than the most other Westin hotels. I liked its gym and facilities. Restaurants in the hotel is so so except Chinese restaurant on the 5th floor. However, I liked my stay in the hotel and truly enjoyed its staff great services provided. Great services provided started from its front desk Sunny, Summer to concierge Chris, James and Edward. Their 34th floor club lounge is my favorite place which I spend much time in with my visiting friend. It located on the top floor of the hotel and has a nice view of Beijing city. Staff are very friendly and supportive. Alice Wang and Niki Chen are solution provider which help customers for all their requests and issues. A great relaxing place and conversation with your friends. Highly recommended for your stay in Beijing.
Good hotel for business. Nothing particular about it. Good price-benefit-ratio (for the room). Good location. The food in the main restaurant (steakhouse) is ridiculously expensive (USD 100+ for a steak), and painfully average. Ask for mineral water in the lobby and you get a VOSS. Strange that they try to sell F&B at price levels that don't fit the look and feel of a Westin.
