Beijing Tibet Hotel

The rooms, facilities, food, etc are all good. The food is just average. Hardly any staff understands English and so if you don't understand Mandarin you are going to have a tough time here even for small things.

Myself and a colleague stayed here for a week. The room was very clean, fresh water provided every day. Staff friendly although didn't speak English. Breakfast a range of continental and Asian style foods. Overall very nice. Wifi was included but not sure if it was payable as our host paid for the hotel.

I hadn't choose this hotel. It was the choice of my host and it was acceptable. It was clean, it's breakfast was acceptable and it's Internet was fine. I don't know about its value because I didn't pay for it.

When we arrived, we checked in, went to our room and found food on the table, bins full and overflowing, beds undone. Basically the room hasn't been cleaned. We complained and were told to wait half an hour. After one and a half hour our room was ready. The room itself is clean and nice. The reservation promised Wi-Fi and wired broadband connection but neither was working for me, not even giving me the possibility to pay as other users have reported. Finally, no one at reception speaks English, so it's very hard for non-Chinese speakers to communicate. Needless to say that complaining for our problems wasn't easy.

Reasonably good hotel with clean rooms and bathrooms. Good breakfast with a choice of eastern and western. Some difficulties at times as I tried to communicate in the restaurant on dishes . There is no western restaurant either. Overall a good hotel. Internet connection in room was very slow. Good locality and looks better after renovation.

Stayed here for two days in August 2012. I was there to attend a conference at CNCC, so tourism wasn't my first goal. The amenities were great. Other reviews indicate that the mattresses may be a bit hard. Now, I am a 1.87m guy (~ 6 ft 2), who had just been packed like a sardine in an Air France tin for ten hours, which made the hard mattress a gift from heaven. Sanitary facilities were great (shower was downright awesome), and the breakfast buffet was more than satisfactory. The only downside to this hotel is that it is not near the city centre. If you are willing to either take the subway (there is a station _really_ near) or repeatedly taking a cab (which are very affordable in Beijing), then this is not really a problem. Given that you only have to pay approximately 60 euros per night for a single room, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this hotel if the lack of proximity to the city centre is not a problem to you.

The internet is paid at 60RMB per day (from 12am-12am) or 10 RMB per hour - better to get the day option even if you are going to be out all day, because the hourly charges for me didn't add up, i didn't argue, but i am guessing they round up the hours somehow. I'm not sure if they have expanded or they always had two buildings, but the breakfast does get crowded. I found housekeeping to be less than par, basically made the bed and changed towels, didn't bother to fold the bathrobe, remove used dishes, or replace/wash the used tea cup. No coffee in the room, only tea. Front desk staff can speak english, and i was able to order room service just fine. Checkout time is 1400 which helps. Does have a flat screen TV, but its old, no HDMI connection. English news channel available - Channel News Asia. In all not a bad stay, however could be better. Given that its the capital not sure how the value compares, what i wound up paying here after including breakfast and internet, i have gotten better rooms in other cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu and better service - not sure how this compares to other hotels in Beijing as it was my first time. Would stay here again, if visiting the same company, if they couldn't suggest another similar one to try nearby.

Reasonably good hotel with clean rooms and large bathrooms. The business suites are roomy and well laid out. Good breakfast with a choice of eastern and western. Some communication difficulties at times as we tried to order room service from the 'western menu' and it never arrived. There is no western restaurant either. Overall though a good hotel.

I was originally booked for 3 nights in October, had to up the stay to 10 days while waiting for my apartment to become available. I'm glad I picked this hotel: the location is great, the rooms are really nice (the only minus being the tubs being SO high off the ground....a bit hard to get in and out of the shower!), the staff were very friendly. Very limited English speakers working here, but it's not a problem if you can speak even minimal Mandarin. I was impressed, and would recommend it to any of my family or friends when they travel to Beijing. Note: the internet is not free, and not cheap. Easier to find an internet bar closeby, or a coffee shop with free wi-fi.
