Had three nights here while on tour. It is a very well appointed hotel with direct access into the shopping mall which is open until 10pm each night, including Sunday's. Spacious room with mini bar, good sized bathroom. An excellent breakfast choice and everyone can find something tasty. The best croissants we had on the whole of our 15 days tour of China. We had one dinner there which was also very good.
Thoroughly enjoyed my week here. Everyone is very polite and friendly, although some struggled with English. The foyer smells delicious with some scent! The restaurant is good as well... mixture of Asian food and English for breakfast. Again the staff struggle a bit with English, but one can get by. The hotel is adjacent a huge shopping centre, in fact, you can access it just alongside the elevators. There is a large food area on the lower level, so one can get all sorts to eat without having to use the hotel restaurant if one so wishes. Helpful concierge team, although the kind of tours one can do in Beijing is VERY limited... I think three, so you would need to sort out your tours yourself. The room was comfy and well stocked with the bathroom essentials. Pool was lovely they lent me a cap to wear, so I didn't have to purchase one. All in all, a good experience.
The rooms were nice and clean and the free internet was fast. The bed was quite comfortable with good pillows. The front desk quite was helpful. The breakfast selection was a bit ordinary and quality could be better.
I stayed here one week during mid july 2017, everything good, free parking, good breakfast, good internet can connect google, and good gyms. there is connection from hotel to U Tang shopping mall, so convenient.
The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent. The cleanliness of our room was really impressive. The buffet breakfast was as good as I've ever seen. The hotel was booked for us by our tour operator, China Highlights. They did an excellent job in selecting this hotel, as well as the four others in our tour.
Stayed here at the end of June. The hotel overall is nice - but I was very disappointed with two things - the quality of WiFi and the shower / bathroom. On the first, I find a lot of hotels lacking in their offering. It is very surprising these days to encounter poor WiFi service. Why? Because this is such an easy to provide perk to the guests....Enough said. On the second - the bathroom in my room at least was leaking water while taking a shower. I had to use bath towels to limit the progression of the pool of water into the rest of the bathroom area.... I was surprised that the maintenance folks have not caught that issue...
So if you are in Utown area and have business meetings in this area, Crowne Plaza U town is a decent choice. I won't recommend this place for family stay. Breakfast spread is very decent but it can get very crowded so head early. Good Gym and front desk support. Room service is not so good and if you are not a mandating speaker suggest you limit your communication with front desk staff only. Oh Yes, don't miss the German Beer Garden next door.
I've stayed at 35 hotels over the last year, and this was actually one of the best. I booked the Crowne for 2 nights with the expectation that it would simply be a comfortable place to stay after coming home from long sightseeing tours. As a spire ambassador member, I was upgraded to a premium corner room and was blown away by the quality of the suite. It easily outpaced several Intercontinental properties I've stayed at. Pros: - Huge room - Beautiful bathroom and thoughtful layout - Enclosed adjacent tub shower area, so you don't have to soak the bathroom floor moving from one to the other like in other hotels with separate showers and tubs - Separate toilet area with additional sink - Lovely views - Quiet - Extra usb outlets, meaning you don't need a converter - Location! - No smoke smell Cons: - One kind of rude person at the front desk when we were exchanging money. That's it! I was so impressed and will most definitely be staying here when I come back. It beat out the other ultra-high end hotel we stayed at, which was much more expensive.
Stayed here for a business trip. Great hotel, with a very nice view on the surrounding city and convenient internal passage to the adjacent shopping mall, with shops and food courts. Definitely worth staying here.
We stayed here as part of a tour. There are many convenience stores, restaurants, and shopping boutiques within walking distance. It is on close to the subway station and you can go anywhere downtown including the Forbidden City and Wangfujing Street pedestrian mall. Uber works great from anywhere, and there is no real language barrier. We went to Sanlitun, and it was great to have this hotel as a base. We would stay here again.
