The lodge could be a very nice location with a little updating. The view of the water was lovely and an outside patio could be nice if weather cooperates. (It rained while we were there).

I enjoyed the the view of the lake,,the room was very nice and clean and the housekeeping was very friendly,it was everything I thought it would be ! I will be going back in the near future!

Nice and quiet in the off season. Our stay was due to a family member vehicle emergency.. and they were MORE than kind, helpful and over the top accommodating for them and for us when we arrived. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonable priced too. If you need a quiet place to rest for the night..this is it!!!!

The good: Price. Great location, excellent atmosphere. Felt similar to the Mountain Lodge at Snowshoe. The restaurant was good, the bar was good, and they have coffee and snacks in the lobby in the morning. The staff was friendly. The room was well equipped and clean. It had a coffee maker (the in-room coffee was not so good), iron and board, refrig and microwave, and hair dryer. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were pretty wore out. The bad: the smell of the room. Very heavy detergent smell when we got there; not sure how to explain it, not bad just overpowering. We aired out the room and it wasn't so bad on day 2. The pillows could use replacing. Altogether, I'd stay there again. It is hard to find an inexpensive place with a restaurant, much less a bar with a pool table. Also, not your run of the mill motel, it's got character.

There was great music at the cute pub, and the music was overlooking a small lake. Great atmosphere

We stayed on a Friday evening and enjoyed the Karoke! The staff were extremely nice! The view from our room overlooking the lake was amazing! We will definitely stay there again.

Very quiet and away from everything. Perfect spot with a beautiful pond behind the hotel

Horrible.. my bed smelled like pee and the while room was smelled nasty. The bed was not comfortable. Please stay away from that place.

This property is right down the street from Winterplace Ski Resort. It is conveniently located for day and night skiing.

The heater in our room is extremely noisy and takes 30-45 minutes to start producing warm air. Until then, it blows cold air and is very loud. The room has a large recliner that was broken upon arrival. I call the receptionist to tell her and she just says “oh, ok” with no apology or offer to move us. The location is excellent though!

Summer evening stay. Could not find the location with GPS, but found it using road signs (the town is very small). Room was fine, but restaurant had loud country music inside (we sat outside to avoid this) and rowdy redneck guests at the bar (attached to the restaurant). They made dinner somewhat less than pleasurable, especially due to smoking and frequent drunken cussing in the outdoor sitting area (even with children nearby). Food is bar grub, and not worth the price, but edible; service is a bit slow and not correct on the first delivery of our meals (and the garlic mashed potato is out of a box). No significant complaints about the room, but no good-quality coffee anywhere in the lodge nor in the town (so far as we could see; no tea or real milk either). Gas is available nearby. No pets (good for us; no fleas); and no smoking in the rooms (also good). Fair for a quick sleep stopover (I would eat elsewhere), but I would not book this place again.

The hotel was old and rundown. The a/c didn't work very well and the was falling apart.

If you're looking for a place to stay to go snowboarding/skiing/tubing at Winterplace this is as close as you can get without staying on resort. The inside had a cabin feel that I loved. They upgraded us from 2 double beds to a king for no charge. The restaurant and bar attached to the motel were clean and yummy and it had a huge porch off the back overlooking a pond! I was a little skeptical when I first pulled up but I will definitely stay here in the future. It was just 2 people staying in the room and the rooms are cozy. Only possible downside is that there is nothing around unless you drive about 20 minutes except a subway and gas station and the resort.

The Skyline Lodge is a great deal, nightly rate is very reasonable and the rooms are much better than what you'd expect at the price you pay. The food at Rich & Ernie's Bar and Grill is great! the atmosphere is fun and lively also!

The term resort is misleading. This is a motel with a night club attached. We arrived on Friday night the parking lot was packed with people going to the bar. The room was hot. It smelled like an ashtray and the shower curtain was moldy. The mattresses were the hardest I've laid on since I went camping in high school. I thought the price was cheap because it was the off season but no ...it's really that bad I've slept in cheaper hotels that were better maintained. Not a family friendly place at all. Never again
