We were there only one night but the stay was great. I reserved one room for my 94 year old Dad and a second room for my husband and I. We thought both rooms were great. We had a large, two room suite and Dad had a one room suite. Dad was very impressed and ours was very comfortable. I will check into reserving suites in the future. The price was excellent.
Nice La Quinta hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms nice. Good breakfast-scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Pet friendly. Free parking. Near restaurants and shopping. Good for staying to visit nearby hospital.
Clean, quiet, happy place to take a break. Renovations have been finished and more to come. The people are always friendly and call me by name. The wi-fi has improved. The hot breakfast is always well-stocked. The pool is clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Very nice Hotel with very nice rooms and helpful staff. I wished that the internet was a more reliable connection. WiFi did work for about 30 seconds, then I was disconnected. Tried the Ethernet port and was unsucessful in a connection. Recommend that the Hotel research the issue and ensure that the connection is more readily available. Also, Item 2- Could not close the curtains and darken the room. Please repair this issue.
Hotel is under renovations of some sort. Got locked IN our first room, had to be crowbarred out. Gave us a second room down the hall, got locked out of that one. Had to be crowbarred in. Gave us a third room, it was already occupied and surprised a guy coming out of the shower. Assigned us another room but was the wrong type. Gave us another room, but that one turned out to not have a functional door (didn't lock, could just push it open). Finally "upgraded" us to a king suite but technically one person in our party got screwed over because a sofa pull out is not an actual bed. They were very nice and apologetic about the situation but it was a little ridiculous that we're on our 7th room since Thursday. They did compensate for a good portion but it was an unnecessary stress to have while attending an out of town funeral.
Excessive dog barking and uncleanliness has removed this hotel from my list of places to stay (I was here on business and could not sleep b/c a dog was barking all night). The mini fridge in my room didn't work. The hotel replaced it with one from a different room. That one wasn't working as well. The bathrooms are disgusting. There was an old, used towel hanging over the shower curtain rod when I checked in. There were huge holes in the shower curtain. Water damage everywhere in the bathroom. The room, in general, just felt unclean the whole stay. Television definition is right up there with no television at all. And the wifi never works when I stay here (really hard to get work done without internet access).
Great place to stay very convenient location for restaurants and shopping. Great full breakfast everyday @ 5:30 a.m. Friendly staff clean rooms and really quite. General Manager on site everyday to answer any questions you may have. I have been staying here for several months and chose this hotel over the others closer to my work because of the awesome breakfast and friendly staff. I will be here for several more months and will definitely be staying here you have all the luxuries of home. I stay in hotels all across the US and this one is at the top of my list.
Have been staying at the Port Arthur LQ on business for the last 2.5 months, and have to say that your over all staff is great. Everyone is friendly and helpfull, and they keep the establishment cleand. And there is one who really stands out- Mariana Gonzales. She is always courteous, and has customer needs at the forefront of her mind all the time. Please make sure she gets some sort of recognition for the great job she does.
I stay at LQ's all across the country... this particular stay was close to the bottom as far as service... when I checked in, I was told "you are lucky we have a room, we are overbooked." I pointed out I was Elite status and my room was guaranteed, which was answered with a shrug. The desk clerk never asked for my ID or any type of identification, which is concerning, as I had a relative staying at the same hotel with the same last name. The room was clean and spacious, but my concern was the door (see picture) - it clearly had been forced open at some point and had not been replaced. I didn't asked for another room, as I had already been told I got the last room. But the door barely latched and I ended up moving some furniture in front of it for safety. Additionally, several of my friends who had confirmed reservations were told they had no room when they arrived. The breakfast was better than average LQ fair, but the management of reservations and the issue with the door need to be addressed.
While the location of the hotel is good, the room we had was terrible. Not only was the bathroom dirty, the carpet/floor was very nasty. Additionally the room had a terrible odor. After speaking to the clerk on duty, I was assured that I would receive a call from the manager, however this did not happen. It is truly a disappointment that the Port Arthur, Texas LaQuinta manager does not want to take care of their customers concerns. I often stay at LaQuinta for both business and pleasure trips but I would not recommend this hotel and I will never stay there again! Very disappointing!!
