Heating issues with room , that was tectified when issue raised. Very cold indoor pool due to old fashioned valve heating system that was problematic. Out door pool lovely but very small and overcrowded due to cold indoor pool. Not enough creamers, 4only and place needs a facelift, not teally 5 star

Such a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location for visiting Bath. A hotel of that size and age is bound to have areas that look tired, but best not to dwell on them and enjoy an amazing building, attractive gardens and a spa with a good choice of saunas, an outdoor jacuzzi and a nice pool. We had a very tasty cream tea which was located in the restaurant due to a wedding, so a bit soulless as a venue and quite expensive - but scones were excellent! Bedroom was in the old part of the hotel with some lovely period features. Bathroom needs a refresh but the Elemis soaps were gorgeous.

The Goods - Lovely Grounds, pleasant walk into Bath , comfortable beds , clean rooms & friendly Spa Reception Team , friendly Housekeeping. The Bads - Our Room was like a Sauna , aircon not working , had to have the window open all the time, tired Bathroom, FOH reception Team need some further Empowerment .. All things considered- a pleasant stay but some improvements needed..

I recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Macdonald Bath Spa. The hotel’s elegant atmosphere, combined with impeccable service, made for a delightful stay. My room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely garden view. The spa facilities were outstanding, offering a rejuvenating full-body massage and relaxing pools. Dining was equally impressive with delicious, locally-sourced dishes. Its prime location made exploring Bath convenient. Overall, it was a luxurious escape, and I look forward to returning!

We were so excited about our stay considering how much it cist for 2 nights. Only to be disapointed with the the upkeep of the rooms and spa. Our rooms were tired. Tried to close the window and caught my finger on the rotting frame. Had to move the cot out the way first, my child was 10 years old so no idea why we had a cot. The other room we had the bath the enamel was chipped and sharp, had to take extra care when having a shower. The toilet did not flush properly and rattled when filling back up. The paintwork was chipped and looked awful. Food on first night made me ill. There were losts of tiles missing in the spa. Take care when sitting in steam room. To top it all when getting my car on leaving it was completley covered in poo. So very disapointed in whole stay

Not overly impressed with this trip to the Bath Spa Hotel. The room we were given had a compressor for the ice machines outside the window. It was extremely noisy and we asked to change rooms. At the first time of asking we were refused being told the noise would stop at 2100. After 2100 it was still noisy so at 2300 we were changing rooms. Breakfast was not worth £16. Buffet was underwhelming and anything other than full English was charged as extra. Anna in the Spa was absolutely lovely. And the Spa area was very nice. We negotiated a late checkout as compensation but the desk staff initially was not particularly friendly. I haven’t stayed here for some as I didn’t appreciate having to pay to park. I see the parking is now included but I probably won’t come back for a while. Air bnb tends to be better value.
