Montigo Resorts Nongsa4.5 out of 5.0

Wife and I were looking for a short getaway near Singapore. Our daughter suggested Montigo Bay in Batam. Didn't sound appealing till we looked at their website. Wow, the pictures are incredible! Looks more like Bali, Cebu or Phuket! Only 40 mins via ferry from Singapore...too good to be true. This all-villa luxury resort has pool villas overlooking the sea. Rates are reasonable...we booked a one-bedroom pool villa at SGD270 per night for four days and three nights with breakfast and ground transfers. Our entire experience was amazing from the moment we arrived. The care and attention from the highly trained staff immediately caught our attention and continued to Wow us the entire stay. Our villa was huge and came with every comfort and amenity we could think off. Best feature was the infinity pool overlooking the sea. We could make out the Singapore financial district and Marina Bay Sands in the horizon. We didn't think we needed to leave the villa the entire stay but the sprawling property was too pretty to miss. Complimentary buggy rides are provided from the villa to any point in the resort but we found walking around to be so pleasant and invigorating. Especially after the hearty breakfast buffets each morning. We did a half day bicycle tour around the Nongsa district, drank juice from freshly plucked coconuts and even had dinner at a rustic, waterside seafood "shack" on the water's edge along Nongsa Beach...a throwback to what Singapore must have been a hundred years ago! On another evening, we took a 10 minute drive to a nearby village town called Batu Besar to experience the real Batam in all it's simplistic, rural splendor. We enjoyed traditional Nasi Padang village-style the way it was enjoyed in Singapore in the pre-Independence era. We also spent a whole afternoon at the Montigo spa where we were pampered in luxury...the perfect ending to four gloriously relaxing and re-invigorating days at this surprising but highly memorable corner of Batam Island. We'll definitely be back there again soon!!
We had a wonderfull 2 nights stay at Montigo Resort. The service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But there were mosquitoes around. We got bitten especially the toddler in our group.
Good service, but generally facilities could be better maintained. The spa packages were also overpriced. Good breakfast buffet spread with large variety. Generally not too bad, wouldn't mind staying again.
Very Good. Hope it could be improved as follows, 1. Maintennace for Auto-lock system (broken) 2. Physical key have to be given if broken above 3. Confirmation of late check-out should be given at least one day in advance
A perfect loaction for a relaxing getaway. The staff were all ever willing to help and very hospitable. Overall it was a wonderful experience. The wifi speed could be improved. But it wasn't a big issue for us.
The service at Montigo was excellent. We were told to relax at the sofa when we arrived for check-in whilst the service staff took care of all the procedures. The staff were so detailed and remembered all the questions I asked during the course of the booking and went through with me one by one. Buggy service from the villa to other parts of the resort was just a call away. Arranged for a birthday celebration for one of my friend with the BBQ restaurant durnig dinner time. The resort presented a cake and live band singing of birthday song. Splendid. I was there for 2 days one night only which I thought was not enough to enjoy the resort since we headed to town during the first day. Would recommened a 3 days two night stay for utmost enjoyment.
Hi there, I stayed in your resort for one night and despite the great service, I would like to say that I had not a very good experience. It was my 3rd time there and probably will be my last. Firstly when we enter the house and when my partner opened the door 4 lizards dropped from the ceiling and we had a scary time chasing them out of the apartment. Secondly, at the private pool area we spotted a dead lizard (un cleaned) lying on the ground and another lizard when pulled the chair to sit down. Thirdly at the room when I turned on the tap I had a shock when a centipede dropped into the sink when the water was switched on. Sad to say I had a very terrifying stay there. We had to call the room service to clean up one more time which wasted the time of our stay despite paying so much. Regards Kayathrie
Amazingly huge 2 bedrooms resort with a private pool & rooftop terrace. Comfy bed with splendid view of the sea. Great hospitality from all the staff. Personal touch by the resort by assigning 1 staff to each fmly villa. Geofany was assigned to us and she goes all out to meet our requests & needs even when her its alrdy her off-duty hours. They also arranged for a few staffs to come over to our villa to surprise my husband with a cake and singing-along bday song w guitars. The bbq buffet dinner & breakfast spread was excellent & wide varieties. Desserts were awesomely delicious. The 24hr buggy is so efficient, always prompt. Will definitely come back again soon.
Great service throughout our stay. Villa was clean and spacious with the perfect view plus private pool! Its amazing. We love it. To Rama and Widi and the others thank you again for the sweet surprise to our door with the cake n song. Very memorable and best moment ever for our stay for our honeymoon. thank you. Sure we will be back!
stayed for 2 nights from Thursday to Saturday. I would recommend to go on weekdays as it is a lot less crowded. The flooring of the toilet seemed a little not so well maintained, but overall the villa was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay tremendously, and am very impressed with the level of service and the attitude of all the staff. Well done!
