We paid nearly 200 euros for a room that was stuffy and hot and unappealing. Temperature control didn't work. No top sheet on bed. 10 euros deposit to use a hair dryer! Towels were of poor quality. Property needs a serious upgrade. No breakfast included. We were in Spain for 16 days, stayed in modest facilities. This was the worst experience and the most expensive. This property is out in the suburbs. We stayed at a lovely place in the historic district that was far more comfortable and 50 euros less.
For what I paid I thought it was great hotel in a good location. We walked to all the attractions. The beach and shopping centres are a short walk away. Being on the budget side, lots of large school children groups making noise and clogging up the reception was annoying. Our room was situated at the end of the corridor. Rooms are very basic and on the smaller size. Tea and irons are available but you have to give a deposit for them. Would I stay here again, probably not but for how much you pay compared to other hotels you can’t go wrong.
Travellodge Poblenou is not expensive at all for Barcelona standards, and you have everything you need. Rooms are simple enough (although there's a TV in the room!) and very comfortable. The location is very good, 8mins walk from beach, near a metro station that can take you to the centre in a matter of minutes. The area is quiet, peaceful, with enough shops, bars/restaurants in the vicinity. The staff especially was super nice and helpful. We will recommend Travelodge Barcelona Poblenou! Thank you!
Good hotel, close to public transport (metro line) in a very updating surrounding: all around the hotel are graphic studios, location for shooting....very creative. From our room - 9th floor - we could also see the sea, and the stay has been really easy. Standard business-like amenities, good price, good room. Can be updated with a non-payment parking (15€7day the underground parking)
I am a single parent and wanted to take my two girls (9 and 6) to Barcelona for a few days after a week in Perpignan. We booked Travelodge Poblenou on the Travelodge website a couple of months before we left. Travelodge Poblenou was perfect. The room was simple, spotlessly clean. The beds were made every day with the girls soft toy placed on each, which was a lovely thoughtful touch. All of the staff were really friendly, not just the front of house staff. The location was a great place to base. The Rambla del Poblenou is 50 yards from the hotel door and is alive with family friendly eateries and ice-cream shops, particularly good at night with the kids. The Poblenou area felt welcoming, alive and full of positivity. There are two Metro stops a short walk away, and excellent bus services, all of which were air conditioned. We will definitely stay here again. Well done Travelodge.
Hotel is clean, quiet and near the Boatel beach and about 2km from the center (half an hour walk via seashore). the croissants were better than the ones in London, less choice for breakfast, but largely enough and good. not easy to find infos about breakfast on the officiel website (I saw later that at the other reservation site that we have the breakfast choice when booking the room). we didn't have a kettle or a small coffee machine in our room (with teabags, coffee or chocolat), like we had in London ..... confortable bedding and made daily as well as the cleaning. We had our car parked at the hotel parking lot (15€ per day, impossible to know how much it coast on the officiel website). Very steep path down to or up from the parking lot with your car, also not easy when meeting other car on the way .... better not to need to turn your car around in the parking lot... otherwise the car is protected !
They took money from my account unauthorised. I have still not received it back and it now 12 days ago, there’s been no apology or a offer of any good will. This ruined the rest of my holiday having to cut it short. Don’t give them your bank details upfront.
We stayed in the trace lodge for 3 nights and it’s a very friendly hotel. It has a bar downstairs which serve alcohol until late at night. It’s a simple room with everything you need. The only thing I have is that the beds move a lot. But other than that I would def stay again.
As we regularly stay at Travelodges in the U.K. when we saw the great value price for the Barcelona establishment we immediately went for it. With Travelodge you know what you’re getting. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Free WiFi was given to us as we had booked directly with them. Our family room was spacious and clean. There are no tea and coffee making facilities nor a room safe - although we were aware of this prior to booking. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard. We didn’t have the breakfast as the hotel is in the bustling Poblenou part of the city. There are a multitude of eateries, drinking spots and shops literally up the road. Llacuna and Poblenou metro stations are close by, as is Bogatell Beach. If you’re looking for a budget stay in Barcelona this place will fit the bill.
This budget hotel is so budget, the staff will give out to you if you try to fill your water bottle from the free water dispenser in the lobby. Limit of one tiny cup per guest. 32 degrees outside and staying for 4 nights. Some serious rationing skills are needed.
