Nice hotel close to Plaza d'Espanya where the bus to the airport arrives and departs. The hotel is a bit outdated but otherwise ok, staff is friendly and helpful My single room was nice with a desk and TV. There was a clean bathroom The breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing with lots of cakes. Unfortunatly the bacon and sausages were not cooked well and even cold. Easy to improve on that.
Hotel is in a great location, rooms are a good size great to see free water given. I would recommend getting a massage whilst staying at the hotel. only a 5 minute walk for a shopping centre that offers great views of the city and the magic fountains
Nice clean hotel ,lovely rooms comfortable bed plenty sized room very large walk in shower ,good different choice for breakfast for all tastes,staff very helpful with every need if you need to print anything out and good advice about where to go and what's best to see and how to get there ,safe by reception ,hotel near to attractions
Since our visit a couple of years ago, nothing much has changed. This is virtuous in regard to pleasant staff, cleanliness, quietness and good location. But other hotels have moved on and I regret to say that the Vilamari hasn't: very few TV channels with only one in English; cold and limited breakfast buffet (as the supposedly warm bacon and sausages were cold on all three mornings;. small bedroom. I feel that the hotel needs sprucing up and a bit of dynamism introduced.
Found the staff very pleasant and the hotel very comfortable. Position near the necessary tourist bus was very handy. Breakfast was very good. Room was small but very adequate very good shower. No kettle in room
Good location with excellent access to what Barcelona has to offer without the amount of people. Hotel has comfortable bedrooms with excellent shower rooms. Garden space to the rear of the ground floor is nice for a relaxing coffee or drink
We stayed here one night and everything was just great! Close to trasport connections, short walking distance to Plaza España. Very responsive staff. The room was clean and fresh, also there was enogh space.
After traveling from US to Barcelona all night, we arrived at hotel. This is not our first foreign travel experience. We have had many. I KNEW there would not be a room available and all I prefaced my comment with that very sentence and simply asked if one became available prior to 3 pm checkin that we be allowed to check in earlier. The staff person coldly explained to me that it was not the hotel policy and we would not be getting a room any earlier than the designated time. So I sat in the lobby and wrote a rather curt email to their reception desk about their tone towards us, Shorten story is that they did provide a room for us earlier. They are probably still laughing as the Air Condition did not work and when I went to take a show in the evening, there was no hot water. At check in we were told breakfast was at 7 am. We had two early morning tours and were happy that we would be able to get breakfast and coffee prior to our tours, HOWEVER, when we went downstairs the next morning, breakfast wasn't ready as it was a "holiday" and did not start until 8 am. Too late for us to eat and since we were not aware of the time change, not enough time to get breakfast elsewhere. Plus, I thought I had read that they would provide a "take along" in cases such as this. However, NO ONE OFFERED any minor solution to this issue, The other concern was that we were there because our granddaughter was enrolled in an intensive Summer Ballet program. She is 14. On her floor someone was smoking marijuana. The entire floor was clouded in the smell. My husband asked the front desk if it was "level" in Barcelona and was told no and that they KNEW who was smoking it and did he want them to contact the room. To which he said no. What should he say ? But they allowed it. In a hotel where a lot of young dancers were living for three weeks! We left a few days later and went to Poland... see my reviews on Metropolitant Boutique Hotel. A wonderful hotel that MADE our vacation. After that stay we returned to Villimari for one night to say goodbye to our granddaughter. The Front desk remembered us, gave us the same room. My husband didn't want it but I said that it was for one night. Once again, NO air and the bathroom smelled as though there was a plumbing explosion and the stint was unbearable. We asked to be moved.
The hotel is conveniently located to Plaza Catalunya and is walking distance from the metro station and the Aerobus drop off and pick up points. The hotel staff is extremely welcoming and helpful - especially Ivan who took the time to graciously orient us to the area. The rooms are small but clean and modern. The wifi wasn't great but we didn't spend enough time in the room to really miss it. Shower and amenities were good but do be careful with flooding the bathroom when using the shower. FYI, there aren't safes in the room but you can use the one located in their lobby.
This hotel was perfect for my family. We got the family room which was 2 connecting rooms. It was a good size and very clean. We were on the 5th floor and facing the back into a large courtyard with the other buildings on the block. It was super quiet. We were in Barcelona in August which was crazy hot and humid so luckily the air conditioning was working well and was quiet. The only problem was that I forgot to ask for a non-smoking room so our room had a smell. It started to fade by the second day but the air conditioning / air circulation system must be connected to other rooms because the smell of smoke eventually was back again. So make sure you ask for a non-smoking room. The best thing about this hotel is that they provide free water. There is a small fridge in the room stocked with water that they replenish in the afternoon and in the evenings. Very generous of them!! Like I said, it was crazy hot when we were there so the water really helped! The breakfast in the morning was very good with several pastries, meats and fruits. Not a lot of hot food other than bacon and sausages. The location is great with lots small grocery stores and restaurants around. Lolita Taperia was a great find which is Michelin mentioned and only about a 10 min walk. There is a wonderful tiny coffee shop around the corner with amazing pastries. Fabien Restaurant is also very good for lunch. It is 2 blocks from the metro, the Arenas shopping mall and a short walk to the magic fountain, the National Art Gallery and Montjuic Park. The staff is incredibly helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
