Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights in June. We requested a room overlooking The square which the staff accomadated for us. Many reviews say the hotel is noisy, with the doors closed we didnt hear much noise at all. The hotel was clean, modern and comfortable. The room had a safe which cost 2 euros per day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will be re booking for next year!
Affordable accomodation. Small room but very clean and modern with small balcony. Directly across from a subway station as well as in perfect location. Not too busy but in walking distance to la rambla. Friendly and helpful staff.
Perfect location for exploring on foot the barri gothic, la Ribera, el raval, port vell, la rambla, and beach. The hotel is surrounded by narrow streets which lead to pretty squares. The old cathedral is 5 minutes away. For further afield the metro is directly outside the hotel entrance. We arrived from the airport by train and metro, purchasing a 10 trip ticket for 9.5 euros. We changed from the train to metro at passaig de gracia. This is a huge intersection of metro lines. There is a 10 minute walk underground to get to the yellow L4 line. Whilst the trains have air con, the underpasses do not so it can be very hot. You need to know which station is at the end of the line in the direction you are travelling. For the Suizo it is trinitat nova. Our triple room, 507, was at the top of the building. It had 2 velux windows so we had no view, but it wasn't a problem really. Being newly refurbished the room had a great shower, pleasant decor and fittings. It was cleaned daily to a high standard. It had excellent wifi and very effective air con. There are no tea and coffee making facilities or fridge. Breakfast was buffet with hot and cold choices. Good coffee from a machine. The reception staff were helpful and knowledgable. They were able to book our tickets online for camp neu and sagrada familia and advise on the best routes to travel. There are many tapas bars and restaurants in the streets around the hotel and further afield. It seemed expensive to eat in the city but many venues offered menus of the day with a fixed price which were good value. Lonely planet Barcelona was a very useful travel guide to have. Would give this hotel full marks if it had tea and coffee facilities in the room
We booked the hotel Suizo for 6 nights with a bit of concern since we read about trouble some travelers had. We also tried to contact the hotel prior to our arrival but with little luck. BUT Once we got to the hotel we happily found a great curious staff that is willing to help out with all that is necessary. Our room was in the 5th floor and had a skylight- VERY COOL, don't worry it is very dark in the mornings for all you night crawlers! We were surprised how quiet the room was given its central location- Just outside the Gothic quarter and next door to the Cathedral of Barcelona (and it's bells)- Not a sound! The hotel is within walking distance of all the best sites and shopping streets of the area and right outside the Gothic Quarter. It is also very clean, big rooms with comfortable beds and nice showers.
Great location! There is a subway station right in front of the hotel. You can walk to the Rambla and enjoy the quiet location of this hotel right in the heart of the gothic center. The room was clean, the staff very helpful and spoke many languages. Many restaurants in the neighborhood and a fantastic bakery right next to the hotel.
Great location .grreat views over the square ,newly renovated rooms with air con nice bathrooms .Rooms small but very new and clean All you need for a busy visit to this lovely city suggest a 4 th floor room
Wonderful warm hotel. Right in the heart of the gothic centre where everything is. You have to go to Barcelona. Brilliant hotel 3 star . The only thing lacking is no kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise perfect and that is the only reason why I have given a 4 stars.
We spent two nights at this hotel in downtown Barcelona in May. Was conveniently located to both the walking downtown and right outside a main subway stop. Was he best we found in the mid level price range in this neighborhood. Would stay here again, though wasn't remarkable. Clean, convenient, economical.
We stayed for 4 days whilst visiting Barcelona. This hotel is great simply due to the location. The spot is fantastic, 5 min walk to la rambla and the metro a 5 sec walk from the front door (L4). There are no fridges in the room and I'd rate the staff a 6/10 due to friendliness and efficientness. Also, no complimentary bottles of water or tissues, shower gels etc. Didn't eat or drink at the hotel as there are so many better options everywhere. The hotel staff try to push the city hop on hop off, we opted for the tourisric one, both seem average aside for using them as a form of public transport but the tube system is one of the best/easiest I've seen in Europe. Overall, good hotel, very old school but in a good spot.
Hotel Suizo has one of the best locations, right next to the Jaime I Metro stop. It is also is an easy walk to the Cathedral, Las Rambles, the Born area and other areas. There are many places to eat and find good coffee. This is my home away from home in Barcelona.
