The on-line search engine said that there was provision for children, there is, but I believe the hotel would rather not, if you have 3 persons then according to reception the policy of the hotel is that you accept 2 single beds and one sofa bed in a room or a room with one double bed. There is no provision of any consequence whatsoever for coffee/tea making, certainly not in the rooms, in which I stayed, in the five days I was there I did not see anyone attending the bar - the only place within the hotel itself that coffee is available. The real redeeming feature is the hotel staff, they will try their best within limited guidelines to assist in every way and are professional & courteous.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and responsive. The room was big, nice, and clean and it even had a little balcony. It was walking distance to La Rambla, and very close to the metro as well. Would stay here again!

There is no teamaker in the rooms :( Good balkony.

This hotel was super easy to get to major sights as well as my meetings. I would definitely recommend.

The hotel is well situated. The staff was very helpful in assisting us with getting flight information. The rooms were spacious with balconies - so sorry we arrived in the dark and the weather was not good, so we could not enjoy the facilities to the full. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

The hotel location on the Gran Via was and very central. The room on the top floor with a large balcony would have been perfect expect for some heavy rainfall. The room was clean and fairly spacious. Would definitely consider the hotel again; a good value.

Great very helpful staff close to all attractions.

The hotel is in a great location, close to metro station and 20 min walking distance from plaza Espania. Plaza Catalonia was 10 min away. La Rambla was 10 min away as well. Breakfast was ok, we had it the first day, but after that it was easier to go to Starbucks and have coffee and croissant there. It was cheaper in a away and enough till lunch. There are number of restaurants and cafés, as well as stores near by so one can enjoy the opportunity to relax and not spend too much. I will definitely recommend the hotel.

Positive in all areas, would stay on any future trip to Barcelona

The hotel is in a great location with it being two blocks from the metro and about a quarter mile from the start of the Rambla. The hotel was clean and the room adequate, but the service desk attendants were not helpful and on the first day quite unfriendly. I had difficulty getting the air conditioning to work and received no meaningful help when I asked for it. And on the way to ask for help, I passed what appeared to be a hotel manager and room attendant yelling at one another in the hallway. When I asked for a second room key for my girlfriend I was told to come back later. The vacation was great, though, and we loved Barcelona.

Stayed at the Caledonian for about 10 days for work, and had a good experience all around. The staff was friendly and helpful, even when I wandered in after 3AM. The 6th floor room was clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony. Access was also good, for walking or from the nearby Universitat metro station. The only minuses was that the WIFI connectivity was occasionally spotty, and that there was an extra fee for using room safe.

I stayed for just a weekend so this hotel was fine. It had a great location - close to the Metro and about a ten minute walk to the main plaza. The room was little more than a twin bed, closet, and small bathroom. Since it was a short trip I didn't mind, but I can see how one could get claustrophobic during a longer stay. I had the breakfast once. It was a good size spread.

This hotel is within a 10 minute walking distance to Plaza Catalunya, which is the center of the city and all attractions start from there (tours, shopping, dining, etc). I stayed in a single room which did not have a lot of space, but was sufficient for me, considering the fact that I spent most of the day outside. Metro stop is within 1 block (3 minute walk), small grocery store within a 2 minute walk. And two nice restaurants right next door. The one next door had outstanding Paellas. Staff was very helpful and accommodating and spoke English. Excellent WiFi access. Unlike other hotels I stayed in, the TV did not have any English speaking news channels, but I was able to get the news using the Internet anyway. They said they are working on that issue though. All and all this is an excellent value for your money.

This hotel is in a grat location. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms are bright and clean. The front desk was extremely courteous and made every effort to attend to our requests. We were provided with an early check-in as we arrived in the morning. I willl return again to this property and highly recommend it.

check in was simple, quick and friendly. The clerk gave lots of information about things to see and do in the vicinity. The room appeared to have been totally re-done recently. Very clean and well appointed. Small balcony overlooked the busy street below. They had double sliding glass doors accessing the balcony and when both were closed there was absolutely no street noise. We liked this hotel to the point that when we completed our loop tour of three countries, we opted to stay here on our return as well. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but rather we ate at the little cafes around the corner. Easy transportation to/from airport via bus that stops just a couple of blocks from the hotel.

Staff was very friendly and the location was excellent with very easy access to the Metro system.

The Caledonian hotel was wonderful. The location was central, one or two blocks from Las Ramblas, and the staff was extremely helpful. They gave great recommendations for dinner and other fun activities around Barcelona.

Stayed in this hotel two weeks after a cruise and had the same very good experience as the first time. Different room on but just as clean and comfortable as the other one. Very recommended.

Room was right on the main street but the double doored glass kept out the noise. Good location and easy to move around the city.

water pump is a little bit weak, but good enough for one day stay. Very close to subway, and room size is decent.
