I spent five nights in this hotel in October. The localization is great because the hotel is easy to find and not far from the center. The room was nice and confortable. I had a very good reception and it was a pleasante stay.
First the good: room was decently sized and clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable, the bathroom was in good nick, and the hotel was located in a part of town convenient to access the centre from, and within a kilometre of the Sagrada Familia. There was also a fair amount of storage space, with a wardrobe and safe, and two tables in the room. The rest: the hotel is old and shows it. There was a faintly musty smell in my fifth-floor room, and furnishings and fittings looked dated and worn. Worse, the wi-fi was abysmally slow. The aircon kept failing to cool the room and someone from reception had to come up twice during my stay and give it a nudge. The room was not cleaned one day out of two. The breakfast was shabby - slices of fruit with the rind left on, croissants that were a fair way from fresh, desultory cold meats, bottom-shelf preserves, and staff who alternated between looking harried and surly. Reception staff were a mixed bag. I found one employee who was friendly and willing to help (with my AC problems); the others generally gave the air of seeming like they couldn't be bothered. To top it all off, there was a fair amount of noise created by housekeeping on the fifth floor through the day. At one point it sounded like they were tearing the room next door apart limb from limb, rather than cleaning it. About accessibility: the hotel is about 500-600 metres away from two metro stations and about 350m away from bus stops, so if you're using public transport, factor in the walks to and fro. Oh, and they also charge you to hold your bags before/after checking out or in. It's two euros for a cabinet that seems like it could hold a smallish cabin bag. Don't know what it'd cost for something larger...
I found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. The standard of cleanliness was fine. The breakfast was plentiful although the cooked food was often cold but there were lots of other options e.g. cereal croissants cheeses and cold meats. I would stay here again.
This hotel is about 20 minutes walk from la Rambles. Short walk to Sagrada Familla. Good priced very clean excellent standard of room. Helpful staff. Small local bars around the hotel. We got a taxi from the Airport cost was 40e Traffic noise died down at midnight.
Stayed at this hotel for 4 days, after reading reviews we chose this hotel because of its location near the Sagrada Familia (5 minute walk), and being reasonably close to public transport (Monumental metro/underground also a 5 minute walk). We took the train from the airport and connected on the metro, using a T-10 public transport tickets, which was fairly easy. (As a word of caution, be extremely wary of pick-pockets in the metro. Gangs will crowd around you on the escalators, and also offer to help with cases, to get close. Don’t carry valuables in your pockets. This has nothing to do with my hotel review, but a caution for you reading this.) On our return to the airport at 08h00, we hailed a radio cab, which took 45 mins and cost €38, which includes a cost of €2 per suitcase. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke English well. The room on the 7th floor, (we asked for a quiet room), was well soundproofed from street noise, although we could hear people walking in the passage on the wooden floors. Room was a good size, fairly compact, and nice and clean. Shower in the bath worked very well, and room also had a good sized safe to place your belongings. The free WiFi worked well, although our devices had to be “reminded “ to log back on after any period of non use. Easily done in the settings app. The only negatives we experienced were the extremely hard beds, and on one of the days we returned at 17h30 and housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the room yet. So we had to wait down stairs. Breakfast was a nice buffet, (€9 p/p) which offered a selection that would satisfy most people. There is a nice superette about 25 metres away, where we bought some supplies for our daily activities. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. A flat screen tv is also available, but all the channels are in Spanish. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay here, value for money was good.
I stayed in this hotel 3 nights in September 2017. They are charging for a 3 star hotel's rate but not worth with the rate. The hotel is very old one and rooms and bath room is very small. The plus point is good staff and good location. Super market, restaurants is in very near.A Pakistani nation's restaurant having biriyani and mutton curry A Bengali's fruit shop also very near. Only walking distance to Sagrada Familia cathedral is from the hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a small hotel close to where my daughter's apartment was. She is a student in Barcelona. I found the wood floors to be beautiful, including the furnishings. I asked to be placed in a quiet room and I was. It was small but perfect. I realize most rooms in Europe are small. The staff spoke English, which was a big plus! They were so helpful in all I asked. I ate lunch with my daughter at the onsite restaurant. It was reasonable , lots of food and quite good! i highly recommend staying here.
We stayed here a couple of nights, pleasant room, comfortable bed and easy walking distance from Sagrada Familia from where you can find the hop on hop off bus. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. There are also several decent restaurants within the vicinity.
Stayed in this hotel for four nights. Good location, close to public transport. My room was very small, basic furniture. Nice large bathroom. Ironing machine unavailable at 7:45 am, they said the cleaner only shows up at 9. I really needed it as i was going to a conference. Then, between 8 and 9 am one morning i kept calling the reception desk without any successthere is nobody at the reception without any success. They have no toillets at the reception area.
We arrived to the hotel with unclean sheets with hair and stains. The second day the room was "cleaned" again there was hair and stains. Very unpleased with the reaction from the staff. It took them 45 mins to change the sheets the first day. The customer service was terrible when we planned to amend the reservation. I believe cleanliness to be very base level. I will not be coming back and don't recommend anyone stay here.
