Booked this late Monday for Tuesday night and got a good deal, small bit spotless clean, it's in a great location but a little difficult to find as all little roads/paths in that area look the same, would definitely use it again and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful
We booked a last minute stay for one night and we were totally surprised with the room. As you can see from the photos, there were 3 beds in the room. The bathroom was clean and modern. The hotel is in a perfect location. The room was perfect, I wish we were staying for longer!!
Rooms quite small and unligthened - you feel like you're staying in a cave. Totally different rooms from the ones on the booking.com photos! People at the reception very nice and helpful - no matter which kind of help you need (tourist advices, room problems etc.) Location is excellent!
I really loved my stay here, friendly desk staff, spacious room with equally spacious bathroom. A great place to stay, located behind the Barcelona Cathedral in the center of the gothic quarter a two minute walk to La Rambla. Awesome!
Nice and cosy, small hotel at Barri Gothic. Nice and helpfull personnel. 24 hours of reception. Close to Rambla. Clean but small rooms. Just in the midle of the best of Barca. Old building with ancient athmospere.
Had a lovely 3 night stay at Hotel Call. All staff very friendly and helpful. Room was small but plenty big enough for sleeping & getting ready (who wants to be sat in a hotel room when you're in a place like Barcelona?!)...the room was clean and had everything we needed. Works are going on in the hotel, not that we noticed, so all good. Location was fantastic for Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. Easy to navigate our way around. Would definitely go back to this hotel.
Building under renovation during my stay. At the 3th floor didn't hear the noise of it. No outside windows almost at all rooms. No breakfast or any meal included (might be because of the renovation), no fridge, no kettle, no draws for clothes just a niche for clothes hanging, very small room but renovated, air conditioning, flat t.v. wi-fi, the water flow too slow, small table and a lamp in the room, double comfortable bed, 2 windows to a shaft, walls like a paper-you can hear everything. Clean hotel but smalls of mold everywhere. The best thing is the location, however, it wasn't nice to walk in the street to get to the hotel by night, we didn't fell secure.
After a really early flight, we found this hotel rather tricky to find, given that it is in the heart of the old quarter but that was the only 'problem' we had here. The entrance is modest but clean, and every member of staff was friendly and patient as we did our best to converse in rather rusty Spanish. Our room on the 3rd floor was small but was spotless, and cleaned daily. It had ample space for luggage, and the shower was powerful and hot. There were no frills, but the beds were comfortable and the location could not be faulted. Being in the centre of such a beautiful area, it is only natural that the noises from the street filtered up but to us that added to the charm. Although there was no facilities for breakfast, there were many choices right outside the hotel and again, this added to the entire Spanish experience. A real gotic gem-would gladly return.
Very basic, newly renovated, clean. So much to do a see all within walking distance from the hotel, so we only used the room to sleep in. When we checked in, the room we were given, didn't have a window that you could open, and the walls are very thin, we could hear the adjacent rooms conversations, even snoring. When we complained we where promptly moved to a different room and it was much better. If you are looking for a little luxury, and room service - skip it..but if you are in Barcelona it would be a shame to stay inside your hotel room, Hotel Call offers a clean, safe, pleasant stay for those who are interested to explore all the area has to offer. Staff was friendly and helpful, too.
(+) Everything is at walking distance. The Hotel is located deep inside the Old Barcelona City, near the existing Synagogue, St John Place and St. Mary Church. Staff if friendly and ready to help (at least David did that for us) if they could. Clean room. Good free wireless Internet. (-) HUGELY OVERPRICED!!! For the room of 10 sq m without any window (so NO sunlight, right!) the sum they are charging is ridiculously high. We (two of us) entered the room on Wednesday and left on Monday, and for that we paid 707 eur without food included. PAYMENT IN ADVANCE!!! For no reason, upon our check-in at the reception, the receptionist asked from us to pay (not reservation) the full amount in advance, or we will not be allowed to enter the room. He said that payment in advance was policy of the hotel. Tired from the flight we paid the total amount, but when I asked for the invoice, I was told that I will be given upon check-out. PROMISES NOT DELIVERED!!! Immediately after entering the room, we came down at the receptionist and complained that the room looks more like prison cell than hotel room. He was very polite, and promised that he will try to get us a new room with the window view. No such promise was fulfilled. NOTE: Airport shuttle will leave you at Passeig de Colom, so you will need to walk some 7 minutes to the Hotel Call. No body tells you that.
