Just blocks from the middle of the Rambla, Straight walk to Boqueria market (great for food), easy walk to Barcelona cathedral and Plaza Catalunya (cultural center of city. Nice staff.

The location is great--just a few blocks from La Rambla on a small pedestrian street. The area is mostly pedestrian with little shops, many of which are local to Barcelona, along with bakeries, bars, tapas places, and ice cream shops. Busier streets with more restaurants and shops are only a couple blocks away. I looked at several hotels on La Ramblas, and I'm so glad I chose Raco del Pi because it would have felt too frantic and noisy over there. The hotel is also very close to Catedral de Barcelona and La Boqueria. The Liceu Metro stop is about a five minutes walk, if that. The room itself was very nice and larger than I expected for a European hotel. We could easily move around in the room with two full size suitcases open on the floor. The bed was comfy, as were the bedding and pillows. The room was always cool, and there was a AC unit that we used when we returned from a hot day and needed an extra blast of cold air. The bathroom was a good size, with the added space of a tub for showering. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They suggested we have them schedule a taxi as the pedestrian nature of the street can make it tricky for cars to reach. We hadn't thought of this, and it saved us some hassle. The hotel has complimentary Cava at check-in. There is also a free coffee and sweets bar after 2pm, so you can help yourself to lovely espresso, tea, water, or pastries. This was a really nice touch, especially if you're a coffee lover. I will definitely return.

Once we found the hotel, it was a delightful surprise. The staff was very accommodating, making a room available to us at 10:00 a.m. The room was very clean and full of amenities. Our particular room faced the street and had a balcony. One could not ask for more. After traipsing the streets we were greeted by a glass of sparkling wine on our return to the hotel. Maybe it was just us , but the H10 fit us to a tee.

Nice hotel but the room was the smallest I have ever stayed in. Just a bed and very little space around it.. No chair and barely space for two suitcases..Bathroom was great. If space is an issue- stay clear of this hotel..

While the hotel room itself was average (very clean, though), the location and services were outstanding. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - including a glass of cava upon arrival. The breakfast wasn't the cheapest, but the spread of meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries, etc, was very good. However the best part of this place is its location - very central, so just about everything in Barcelona is easily accessible; in fact, most of it is walkable within about 30 minutes.

As pointed out in other reviews you really can't beat the location. However we found the initial greeter rather off-hand bordering on flippant although the other staff member (a female) was friendly. The room was small and what was described as hardwood floors are in fact laminate. The room was very small and not knowing what seems to be typical about inserting the room key into a pocket near the door we couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights. Said front desk person was again flippant in telling us what to do. The breakfast was OK but not cheap and one could do better outside/

Nice modern hotel in oldest part of Barcelona. It has a nice breakfast buffet

Great hotel located in the heart of Barri Gotic. Walkable to any outside amenities/transportation you may need. Large clean room with balcony. Nice private courtyard. Definitely would stay here again.

The location of the hotel cannot be beat. The staff is first rate. The room was decidely small.

Be and linens could be a bit more comfy, but the location made up for it. Liked the front desk staff...helpful and friendly. Room was pretty big for Europe, and the bathroom was big too with two sinks. Our room was on the too floor so it only had skylights. Was hot as a result so had to keep the AC on all day to cool it off. Wi-fi didn't work in our room - had to go into the hall to use it. Also charged 2 euro per day to use the safe which is pretty terrible. Never heard of such a thing. Safes should be free to use!!!

The Good: Location, Location, Location. Clean. Staff nice but no helpful THE BAD: U might as well sleep with the door open. U can hear everything that is going outside the room. The same thing for the bathroom, dont bother closing the door, there is no privacy. Room size are about 2 feet bigger than the bed. THE WORSE: Their shower!!! It shoots freezing cold water, followed by boiling(it will burn u) hot water, followed by 15 sec or warm water. We had to take showers very careful. Feel for the cold freezing water and step out, the boiling water will follow. I complained at the front desk, they were nice but nothing they could do. I will never stay her again.

Stayed for 2 nights before a cruise -- Great location in Gothic Quarter, comfortable walking distance for wandering through lovely winding streets of entire Gothic quarter as well as walkable to Barceloneta; on side street with shops and patisserie; no noise in room with windows closed, ac worked great during hot late Sept, high ceilings, comfy bed, plenty of storage space, balcony overlooking street and towards church - excellent varied breakfast, elevator - front desk English speaking with excellent customer service - we were there during a big festival weekend so price was a bit high - but we would go back!

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Europe. Very clean. Very pretty. The staff was friendly. We had to pay for breakfast but it was really good with a lot of options. The location was great. Around the corner from Las Ramblas. Lots of places to shop and eat around the area. Clean bathrooms, nice view, and free WIFI!! :)

Wonderful week-long stay in Barcelona - chose this hotel for its in-the-middle-of-everything location and price- what a great value! Only issue - two single beds pushed together to make a "king" - sometimes the beds slid apart. Other than that, this was a very clean, well staffed, and overall great hotel. Would certainly return again.

This hotel was fantastic! We arrived early, way before regular check in and they were happy to get us into our room. We were greeted with a very friendly and accomodating staff along with a delightful glass of cava! We spoke little spanish and they were fluent in English and were able to help us with any questions. There was a bowl of fruit and mixed nuts greeting us everyday after a long day of sight seeing. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. There was a computer with internet access off the lobby which allowed us to contact our friends and family to let them know we were okay. The bathroom was very clean and cozy. The location of the hotel was PERFECT!!! We were a couple minutes walk from La Rambla, and situated on a delightful street with shops and pastry stores right next door. We never experienced any noise when trying to sleep despite how the town is always bustling. We always felt safe and comfortable, and were happy to come back after a long day of site seeing. I would definitely stay again if we were ever fortunate enough to return to Barcelona.

My travel buddy and I had a good experience for the most part with this hotel. We stayed for three days; left to travel to Girona over night and returned for one last night. The last night we were placed in a room that was painted earlier in the day. It wreaked of paint fumes. Clearly, the contractor forgot to air the room out as when we opened the door we were overwhelmed with the smell. We asked for a different room but was told that we could only have the only other room (which was bigger) by paying an additional 20 EURO. I felt that was pretty unfair. Anyway, I was able to air out the room before attempting to fall asleep. I notified corporate of the situation and they responded apologetically. Other than the whole paint fume situation, the hotel was nice, in a great location, clean and comfortable.

We arrived early so they stored our luggage. They had happy hour every afternoon. On our return to Barcelona they had a room available and let us get into it a little early - greatly appreciated since my husband had a cold and needed to rest.

Before we arrived at the hotel none of my emails were returned. Once we arrived at the hotel we were sent to a room that had not been cleaned. We heard and saw other guests being offered a complimentary glass of Cava, we were offered nothing for free in fact we were charged for a cup of coffee at 4AM while waiting for our taxi. The staff was rude, and didn't seem to care that our room was never made up, dirty plates of food were left all around the computer area. It was really very disgusting.

I stayed at this place for 2 nights. Some comments and thoughts - 1. Very misleading picture on Orbitz and other sites - the front of the "hotel" gives you impression that the place is on a main street. In fact, it's on a side street that every single taxi driver we spoke to didn't know how to get to. 2. Rooms are VERY small. Literally a 10x8 room. 3. No working elevator. 4. Horrible staff - They have kids working there that just don't care. 5. Haven for thieves - When we checked in the front desk girl said, they do have safety deposit boxes in the room, but it costs 2 Euro to rent. I asked if I should get it and she said she definitely would. 6. The rooms barely have working air conditioning. It took an hour for the AC to fully kick in.

Great location, a little hard to find at first until you get you're bearings but after that you will realize it's close to all to good spots. The cava at sign in is a nice touch. Chug it, drop your bags off and hit the streets. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The beds are kinda firm as I have found with most hotels in Spain. The closest metro is Liceu or Catalunya. I would recommend this hotel.
