This hotel made out stay. The staff were great from check in to check out. The room was spacious and clean with amazing views of the marina. The breakfast menu was delicious and offered a variety of items. The staff again were very welcoming and helpful. The lounge and pool was also a great addition to this hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to the gothic centre and many other attractions and restaurants. We wish our stay there had been for longer!
My 2nd stay and as good as last time - this is not a budget hotel but is value for money and it's definitely worth adding breakfast. Also the roof top bar is in an excellent way to to chill with beautiful views over the marina.
Extremely helpful staff who gave top class advice around where to eat. Great location looking out on the marina. The terrace has spectacular views but has very few sun loungers to cater for busy times. Didn't choose breakfast as it was 23 euro per person
I often feel it is quite difficult to find beautiful places to stay in Europe without paying ridiculous prices for the privilege so when we decided to visit Barcelona to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we were delighted to discover this particular hotel. It was a no brainer that we should book it, particularly with such amazing reviews...although I do feel that our expectations were a little too high because of this! LOCATION I should start by saying that the hotel is really easy to get to from the airport (Terminal Two) via the Metro system. It was about a 40 minute trip involving one quick change (we didn't even need to move platform!) with the Estació de França station being a five minute walk from the hotel door. It was a really easy walk too - pretty much straight on, then a left and right...something like that anyway. We picked the route up very quickly! The hotel itself is in a beautiful building and a gorgeous part of Barcelona - right on the Marina! It is a stone's throw from lots of restaurants and cafes so you'll never have to go far to find somewhere nice to eat. We pretty much walked to most places actually (with the exception of the Sagrada Familia) so this hotel isn't just good for the beach, but for accessing a lot of the city's amenities too. ROOMS AND FACILITIES The hotel is wonderfully appointed from the moment you walk in with a contemporary yet cosy vibe. Our room overlooked the Marina with a pretty Juliet balcony and I was so impressed by the facilities offered for our comfort - I have never stayed in a hotel where guests are so well thought of! There was literally everything you could've needed in the room from toothbrushes, shaving kits and gorgeous Rituals toiletries. We felt very well looked after! The essentials are fantastic too: the bed was comfortable, the corridors quiet and the rain shower was wonderful, especially after sweaty days exploring the city in the summer heat! We loved the rooftop bar and enjoyed drinks watching the sunset on our actual anniversary date. My husband was impressed by the gin offerings too. One thing I loved about this hotel was how small it was - it felt really intimate. We spent a lot of time overlooking the city with the rooftop mainly to ourselves which added to the romance behind our visit! I highly recommend you check it out during your stay. We didn't use the pool (which is tiny by the way - fine for jumping in to cool off), but the rooftop is a lovely space to catch some rays if you have the time for it. STAFF AND SERVICE Got to be honest here, I think we expected too much from the previous reviews! Upon our arrival at the hotel, we weren't greeted with a glass of Cava as per the many reviewers before us. Rather we were checked in by someone who came across as fairly flustered and literally barked 'Passports!' at us when we got to the desk. It wasn't quite the warm welcome we expected! If I could give the girl the benefit of the doubt, perhaps it was her lack of English, but surely a smile and a gentle tone of voice costs nothing regardless of your bi-lingual capabilities?! We had also informed the hotel we were visiting for our first wedding anniversary when booking, but received no gesture towards that in our room. I know this makes me sound like a freeloader (I'm really, really not - I didn't mention it at all while we were there, admittedly!), but I had read how people who have stayed recently received a bottle of Cava/cake/a card for a special occasion so it was a tiny bit disappointing that this was ignored...or perhaps it just didn't make it onto the system! It was the same girl who was on the front desk the following evening when the rooftop bar was closed due to rain - we waited ten minutes before someone came to serve us a drink even though we had asked her if we could order. We were just told to 'Wait!' Could she not have rung someone?! We were made to feel an awkward inconvenience, although in her defence, there were no other staff around which seemed odd. This is the only reason why I have given this hotel four out of five really. Anyway, it seemed that this one girl was a thorn between the roses that were the rest of the members of staff. The rest of our stay involved being greeted with Cava and jelly sweets whenever we walked through the door and always a friendly smile and 'Hola' whenever we were seen. The front desk staff also came across as extremely knowledgable about the area and were keen to help. I was also impressed by how efficient the service was when I rang reception to book us a taxi to the W hotel - the driver was ready and waiting for us as soon as we got downstairs five minutes later. Brilliant! The only other thing I should touch on really is breakfast. We didn't actually eat at the hotel during our stay (and I believe they only offer breakfast anyway) as we had an early start for a trip to the Port Aventura theme park on our first morning and didn't want to spend money on a expensive breakfast experience that we would've had to rush. Maybe the hotel should look into offering a light/take out breakfast option as we really struggled to find somewhere to get a quick bite to eat before the train journey. However, I wish we'd have paid for it on our final morning. One thing that didn't work well with me and Barcelona was how it was practically impossible to get breakfast anywhere before 9:30/10am (this is very different to London!). Unless you are a late riser, put the money aside for breakfast in the hotel as you'll struggle to find something decent otherwise. I wish we'd have known that before arriving! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone regardless of the reason for their trip to Barcelona. We will definitely return!
Stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a great start to married life. We were greeted by a bottle of Cava and chocolates in our room. The room was very comfortable. Very well located for nearly everything in Barcelona. The staff were great for advice on attractions and restaurants. The roof top bar is a plus. Great for an afternoon drink or somewhere to start your evening out.
I had read great reviews so had high expectations and these were exceeded. The hotel is modern and clean with beautiful decor. The roof terrace bar was a welcome first stop before heading out of the hotel to explore. The location is great so it was an ideal location to explore from. Above all the staff were friendly and helpful which always makes a stay special. I don't normally score hotels highly on trip adviser but this one deserved it.
We chose a room with a harbor view, it was lovely. It had a Juliette balcony, which was something I didn't quite see from the website, I thought we'd be able to sit outside. My dislikes of the room were minor, it wad a poorly lit bathroom and was lacking conveniences like an electrical outlet in the bathroom, also lacking a waste bin by the sink. Good shower, though. The coffee maker in the room made good coffee and we were supplied complimentary bottled water daily. The hotel is well located, close to Barri Gothic and El Born. Easy walk to Metro stop. The staff at reception was friendly, welcomed us with a glass of cava.
H10 Port Veil looks from the outside like most old buildings in central Barcelona - nice but not exciting. Now getting inside of this hotel you re welcomed with something very different. A very modern and pleases design, very(!) service oriented staff, just as elegant hotel room as the rest of the interior and then the roof terrace with bar, pool and a great view towards the Mediterranean.
Stayed with two sons. I made a mistake when booked only one room (these rooms can not fit three!) and after a long trip (we came from San Francisco) I was exhausted and very frustrated when found out that we don't have a place to get some rest. Two guys at the front desk did such incredible job, offered me an option to cancel at no cost (despite hotel policy of 48 hours no cancellation fee) if I find another hotel as well as offered another room with a good discount. I decided to stay and boy I didn't regret! Fantastic location with everything around the corner: beach, aquarium, restaurants, 15 min walk to the old city, taxi spot right by the hotel, etc. Plenty of food choices nearby. Recommendation: though breakfast at the hotel is pretty good I highly recommend to explore options nearby. I recommend starting with Mr Robinson Cocktails & Food (3 min walk). Dinner: a restaurant in the museum across the street is amazing if you like meat!
Amazing location, the rooftop is a brilliant addition, views overlooking the harbour while you sit with a cocktail in the sunshine next to the pool. Great for a drink after dinner as well. Rooms are nice and clean, even the rooms looking into the courtyard are good if you aren't too fussed about a view.
