Horrible smell, was sick to stomach whenever I was in my room. Could only fit 1 piece of luggage it was so small. Charged me extra to use the safe in my own room! Every time I drank their water, my stomach ached with pain for hours. Researched on internet and learned that hotel must have bacteria in the plumbing to create the smell we had. Heard multiple guests complaining of the smell in their plumbing as well. Asked to change rooms to get away from smell, but new room had same issue.

After reading some mixed reviews, we were pleasantly surprised and absolutely thrilled with our hotel. The location couldn't have been better and the breakfast was fabulous every morning. If you wanted a more American breakfast there was cereal, yogurt, breads, muffins, bacon and eggs. if you wanted a European style breakfast with cured meats, cheese and vegetables, that was available too. We were never rushed even when we arrived late and the front desk staff were also very courteaous and efficient. They helped us buy tickets, gave us directions and printed our boarding passes. The room was spotless and the bathroom was beautiful marble. We would recommend this hotel as a great find for budget minded people who want a great base for exploring Barcelona.

Great location, friendly personal, old fashioned hotel except for the entrance

Pros: 1. Great location - one minute from metro station and couple minutes walking to plaza Catalunia and La Rambla 2. Great selection and variety of the breakfast buffet 3. Nice customer service Cons: 1. Paper thin walls - you need earplugs at night 2. Rooms are old and worn down 3. It's a solid 3-stars hotel, but expensive , as I paid 20-30% less for a real 4-stars hotels in downtown Madrid or Sevilla

Site seeing

The location was handy for the University area and La Rambla. Our room was nice with a separate sitting room/dressing area. We were faced out the back, which made it quiet even with the window open at night. The price was reasonable with the inclusion of a very nice breakfast buffet. The one thing a little disappointing was that the beds were extremely firm (read that as HARD). the staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great with a central location to the sites we visted in Barcelona. The staff was professional and always helpful. No complaints.

THE LOCATION WAS REALLY GOOD,CLEAN BUT THEY GAVE US A TINY ROOM WITHOUT A.C. BECAUSE WAS BROKEN AND THEY DID KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND DIDNT SAY ANYTHING.

Staff was very friendly, spoke English. Room was ready when we arrived in the morning, however it was located in another section of the hotel. Had to take two elevators to get to our room. They only held either 2 people or 4. Had to make two trips to get ourselves and luggage into the room. We had to carry our luggage up on steps also. The A/C isn't on in the hallways, but room was cool enough.

This is tough to write. Overall the hotel is nice, decent location and friendly staff, but when there is an issue, the hotel does nothing to resolve it. On the last night of our 5 day trip we had water falling from the ceiling of our hotel room. The floor was flooded and our luggage got all wet. When I asked the hotel staff to resolve the problem, get me a new room, or do something, they had no solution. My wife and I had to stay in the room with many bucks while the ceiling dripped water. They did not refund the price of the room for that night nor take any other attempt in making us happy for what we had to go through. If we could do it again, we would stay somewhere else.

Staff very friendly and cooperative. Spoke English better than they understood it. Free use of internet a big plus. Able to walk to the most interesting spots. All in all it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who intend to stay just a day or two.

This is located in the middle of Barcelona. It is a block away from two main subway stations: Universitat and Placa Catalunya. It is also a short walk from the renfe station Passeig de Gracia. From there you can take a train to the airport for 3 EUROS. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good. They have discounts at the reception for 30% the breakfast price. Now the bad: the rooms are tiny. If you book the budget room, you cannot have 2 people dressing at the same time in the room. This is how small the room is. You may need to upgrade to a larger room if you need more space than that. Also the internet connection for my floor did not work. I was able to use the one for a lower floor, though. Although the site says the rooms have safes, there was a 2 EURO charge per day for using them. The last 2 days there was a couple smoking and being extremely noisy on the same floor (although this is a nonsmoking facility). The AC did not seem too powerful. It was raining and not too hot during our stay, so it did not bother us, but I wonder how it works during torrid days.

friendly Staff , good location

We enjoyed the location.Being on a side street made it a little quieter. Within walking distance to Plaza Catalunya and all the great side streets to explore. Lots of people watching. The front desk was very helpful. My only complaint is that the bed was hard as a rock and there was no clock. A great place to overnight before a cruise for the price.

SUPER LOCATION. NEAR FOR EVERYTHING.

Pre-cruise one night. Good location near Plac Catalunya where the airport shuttle arrives. Many restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are tiny and so are the elevators. Elevators go to 2nd floor then need to walk a flight of stairs to another elevator. Hope you don't have lots of heavy luggage. Elevator only large enough for 1 person + luggage. Room had double bed with just enough space to walk around it. The bathroom was very clean but the shower door didn't close so water got all over the floor. You step out into a puddle or a soaking bath mat. The window opens to an air shaft. Good TV. Writing desk convenient but you can't get into the chair provided because of the cramped space. The desk staff very helpful. Free internet station in the lobby. Cafe & restaurant available but expensive. Located off a little side street so was difficult to find. For the cost, it was ok for the few hours we were there under jet lag. Big people would have problems in the small bed and tiny room.

Hotel has a great location, just in the center of Barcelona, 5 min from Catalonia square, where you can get city bus tour for $29 euro, for 2 days (very nice tour), get bus to airport for $5 euro. A lot of restaurants, supermarket where can get very cheap food product and fruits, vegetables. Citi bus tour very recomended, from that tour you can see a lot of Barcelona and visit so many beautiful places. Gaidi places are very unique. We love Barcelona. Very nice people there, very friendly.

Location was GREAT, 4min walk to Placa de Catalunya for Aerobus to/from airport, 1-2min walk to Metro station that takes you to all the sights in Barcelona, and within minutes walk you are in the alleys that shoot off La Ramblas which is full of bars, cheap restaurants, stores, and groceries whereas if you are on La Ramblas itself you pay almost twice as much for the same things and are more likely to encounter pickpockets. Location can't be beat here and the staff were very helpful and speak decent English. There's free Internet which is very useful as well. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE of our stay is that it seems there was a psycho living above us in the building that shouted randomly a lot and threw trash etc down the back alleyway flying past our window, but I think this is beyond hotel management's control. All in all I would stay here again. It's not the cheapest but still affordable and definitely in a prime location to experience the best Barcelona has to offer.

It was ok, nothing fantastic.

We were mostly sight seeing and the staff was very helpful in giving directions and advice. They could speak in English which is a great plus for us.
