The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. We were specifically pleased with two front desk staff, Pedro and Daniel

Had a lovely time. Great hospitality, absolutely fantastic location and loved having a balcony. The hot tub was half full and hardly warm, which was a little disappointing but that would be the only complaint! Front desk staff was great even when I mistakenly thought we had already paid for our last night there. Thanks so much

Our backpack was stolen from inside the lobby just in front of the Front-desk. Manager said that I happens in all Barcelona and even in the lobby’s . He Did not want to show us the video and he just did not care that happen inside the hotel! Did not offer a complementary meal or even a drink for the trouble of a backpack stolen from our backs as we were checking-in and them facing us and seeing what’s happening behind our backs. When u walked into a hotel in any part of the world, u feel save a soonest u walk into the lobby specially in a cosmopolitan city like Barcelona . I have stayed in Axel’s hotel in other cities but never experienced anything like this .. Urgg

The property boasts of a Gay Sauna experience. It's pretty much private and limited to quests buying services in the spa. The staff was not too willing to have conversations about what to do at their hotel, the surrounding areas or even make dining recommendations. I was not a VIP guest but just a regular lower-rate room guest. The housekeeping staff was wonderful, The room was clean and the desk provided a bath robe when I requested one. The property is definitely located in a good spot for public transportation being only 2 blocks from the Universitat subway station in central Old Town with lots of little markets and cafes nearby.

Small, but I am used to hotels without excessive space (American style) I was disappointed in how un-gay it was--there were actually more straight couple in sight that gays. The staff was wonderful--lobby design was a cross between Divinie and German expressionism, but funky. Typical European breakfast, but it actually included bacon and scrambled eggs--I guess a deference to the Anglo visitors. Adequate gym--I only saw two other people using it-- shame. The roof and pools a\etc were not really used as the weather was not that warm. No one at the bar upstairs when I went-earlier (8-9) Not a midnight person now. Location a plus, great little restaurants literally, across the street.

Love this place! Always a great stay in Barcelona.

Location and concept were amazing. However the room we had did not match photos shown on Orbtiz. Room was smaller than expected. Mattress felt more like only springs...not comfortable for a good night sleep especially after a hard night of parties. Additional, which could be part of the charm was the lack of insulation between the rooms...very loud so a lot of "fun" could be heard. Would not recommend if a light sleeper or wanting to relax in a quite hotel. Would have been nice if we could have checked in early even if we had to pay for an upgraded room. Hopefully other more "deluxe" rooms are better.

It's located by many restaurants and several supermarkets if you have a refrigerator in your room. The persons at the front desk were friendly and accomodating. I only had one complaint, they give you 4 large pillows which it great however on one of the pillow cases there was a 2 inch x 3 inch stain which appeared to be blood. I gave it back to the room attendants who then replaced it. This was my 2nd time staying here and I will definitely stay again.

The help desk people The room was very well clean The breakfast restaurant people and the food very go

The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful with anything I needed. The new rooms were high design and could not have been better. You don't have to leave the hotel, it has a great gym, spa and a roof top pool, bar and night club that draws a large crowd. I will always be staying here when I go to Barcelona!

Lovely staff, cute room and sexy guys. I was greeted warmly, given a great room and enjoyed the pool every afternoon. Greta location and the nightly happy hour is fun!

This property has so much unrealized potential. If they would just look up & say hello and lose the attitude. It’s a beautiful property in a great location but it’s the people that make a difference. Our trip started on a low note when we were checking in and told the we had to stay at the Axel Two property for one night and the we could return. This was very inconvenient and it was handled in an inappropriate way. Not a great start. Once we were at the Axel property I wanted to check out the work out room. The lady at the desk, Ismael, was very curt and rude. Not nice. When I stepped into the work out room she admonished me in rude tone because “I was not dressed appropriately. I was wearing a swim suit, t-shirt and flip flops. Just rude! I had another issue with Ismael the next day. This time she crossed the line and was rude and downright inappropriate. I had asked to buy a bottle of water. She said it was cash only. I didn’t have cash on me because I was getting a massage. I understand there might be system limitations but it is the way she spoke to me that was rude and crossed the line when she told me “I need to not have such expectations”. Unacceptable. She should be dismissed for such a belligerent attitude. I don’t know if it was me or she doesn’t like gay people. But it should not be tolerated.

We stayed at both AXEL Barcelona hotels and they were both perfect. Nice, modern, clean rooms. Wonderful staff and amenities. Location is perfect. Will definitely stay at either of them next time I visit.

Great location and very accommodating staff. The gym was good size and the gym staff were professional and pleasant, especially Greg who always was available for questions and kept the gym very clean.

It’s a nice hotel but it’s not woooww but I recommend the hotel

Dear Miguel, We are really sorry about the incident. Unfortunately, Barcelona has this problem and sometimes it is impossible to prevent it. We hope you can give us a second chance in future visits to the city. Best regards,
