I had the opportunity to travel to Barbados and I stayed and the Courtyard Bridgetown. The rooms of the hotel are EXCELLENT! They are modern, spacious and the housekeeping staff does a GREAT job! (They are also nice). Each morning I had a freshly made to order omelette which got my day started right. There is a free breakfast which is "fair" but the omelettes are good. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel.
Nice place to stay in Bridgetown. Unwelcoming service in the beginning but changed as we stayed a couple more days. beautiful rooms and clean. The view was to the parking lot even though we payed for ocean view. all in all it was fine. did not lie the idea of crossing the street to get to beach but ok.
The staff is GREAT! From the front desk to the maids to the restaurant personnel this staff is the best I have experienced with Marriott. My wife and I spent a week at this hotel and I used Marriott points. Our room was on the top floor with a balcony and view of the ocean. The room was very clean. Fixtures, TV and furniture were good quality. The room had a tile floor. I booked some attractions with the front desk. Venita (?) and Micheal were great with anything we needed. There are many restaurants nearby. The beach across the street was okay. The beach was good for relaxing and reading a book. There was some fish to look at, but very minimal. I would suggest going to Pebbles Beach at Carlisle Bay. At Carlisle Bay you can swim with turtles and fish from the shore. It is easy snorkeling, my wife and I are 61 years old and we had no problem. We walked everyday to Carlisle Bay, which is about 1.5 miles away, but a nice walk to see what else is in the area. The restaurant at the hotel is good and reasonable.
Stayed here for business for one week which was five days too long. The hotel is ok but the decor is a little dreary and not a place you want to spend much time in. The service was super friendly yet quite slow. I had breakfast here each morning and they kept running out of items such as cups, glasses, plates, food etc. They replaced the missing items quite quickly but it was a little annoying having continually ask for items and to wait around for replenishment. The breakfast buffet was good but there was a distinct lack of vegetable options. Sometimes they had mushrooms but they appeared to be from a can/tin rather than fresh. Tomatoes were offered once and that's about it. I had lunch and dinner a couple of times - it was ok. The gym was not too bad, but the pool area didn't feel very inviting. The housekeeping was questionable. One day I left the apartment quite late in the afternoon (approx 3:30pm) and the room had still not been cleaned when I returned at 6:30pm (the do not disturb sign was NOT on my door). I left again at 7:30pm and asked for my room to be cleaned. Upon returning at approximately 10pm my room had still not been cleaned. Someone had kindly changed the towels but decided to leave the smelly trash in the room (I had had an Asian salad for lunch, which by 10pm was now stinking up the room in the heat). It was so disappointing to return back to this. Even when the trash was removed the room smelled. The front desk were very helpful and organised a room switch but I had my things everywhere in my room and it was very inconvenient and not what I needed at 10pm at night when I had to arise at 4am the next day. The hotel offered no explanation as to why my room was left uncleaned with a pile of trash. This experience soured my whole trip and I won't return to this hotel in future. The area itself also doesn't feel glamorous as one would hope for a beach resort town. There are a lot of run down, decrepit buildings everywhere. The friendly service was the one of the few positives about this hotel.
Excellent, basic hotel with all the amenities you could want. The roof top pool was adequate. Breakfast was the very best meal of the day!Specific people to mention are Deidre Green (guest care manager) Stefan Forte (reception) Spanish lady with the flower in her hair(restaurant),house keeping staff- all lovely
This is a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. It's very clean and affordable. The pool is small, but it's still nice and the beach is right across the street. The food is excellent and the beds are very comfortable. It's not as "resort like" as the Hilton, but it's still a good hotel for the price
As usual Marriott maintained his level of excellence. We took this hotel with our points but if I had paid the rate, I think it was would have been worth it. Upon check in, Stefan was attentive, courteous and upgraded our room. 15 mins later he called to verify if we liked the room. That's professionalism! The room was great, however just need to add a small microwave and for the ladies, a vanity makeup mirror in the bathroom. The pool is a nice touch for that lazy day, and the beach is across the busy street. May I suggest that Marriott get a crossing sign placed there due to the curve in the road? The restaurant in the lobby is good. The fish cakes are better than Oistens! It is obvious that this is a business hotel, however it is a good place to chill quietly with a family as well! Will definitely be back.
If you are looking for a top quality comfy bed at a reasonable price this place is great. It's not a beech resort but is only a couple of minutes from Carlisle beech one of the best public beeches on the island. Find Casper on the beech and he will look after you provide sun bed and shade all day for $15. Lovely guy great service.
We stayed here for two nights prior to a HAL Southern Caribbean cruise. Staff couldn't be nicer. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in hotel was tasty, with lots of options. Front desk was particularly helpful on sightseeing advice. Toured Mount Gay rum and sampled about 10 different rums! Be sure to take the local busses - a real adventure for $1. Interesting people watching downtown. Be sure to try the Italian hotel on property. Excellent food and service. Not cheap, but well worth the price. All-in-all, a great way to start a Caribbean vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Courtyard Bridgetown. The hotel accommodations more than met our expectations. Every staff member- no matter what position they held - made our stay that much more enjoyable. We especially tip our hats to the wonderful staff.
