Hotel is only a few years old. Rooms and hotel are clean. Staff was cool. Breakfast was ok. Pricey as I expected and nothing special. I prefer local food outside of hotels when I travel. Location is not on the beach but not far from some good beaches.
Stayed around 10th Sept 2017. Had one of the Executive Suites, would highly recommend if you can push your budget to it. The suite was very spacious, huge bed, nice big bathroom, big bedroom, big lounge area, small kitchen area in the lounge with microwave/coffee maker & small fridge. TV's on both rooms with sufficient channels although more is never a bad thing! Nice small balcony too. Michael at the front desk was excellent on check in and followed up by bringing us up some welcoming drinks after check in, thank you Michael you are a star! Generally all the staff here were excellent especially as they were under pressure. Bar/Restaurant staff seemed under a lot of pressure even though September is a quiet period they seemed to struggle especially in the mornings. Had to wait a while to order breakfast however they did never complain when we ordered off menu some specifics. Hotel was in general very clean however upon check in to our suite we did find remnants of a previous guest in the form of some nuts on the floor. Stains on the cushions of the sofa were also a little concerning as some looked like blood stains. We did not mention this to staff as did not want to make a fuss. Location wise it is not on the beech but you can get to a beech area just walk across the road and down some steps through another what looks like hotel or drive down the road for more beech space. The area around here is known as The Garrison area for obvious reasons (google it) and some bits on the south side do look run down but the Hotel itself is well presented in amongst all this and the main entrance is at the rear which is useful and away from the main road. There are a few places to eat around here also and a shortish walk to more food places in the southerly direction. If staying here and going out and about hiring a car would be beneficial. Although taxis are all over the place and 'supposed' to be fare regulated we found this is not a strict policy and you can be charged quite a lot to go not a far distance especially at night. We did hear some adjacent room noise and it was not a busy period so I assume during busy periods noise from adjacent rooms (up/down/side) could get annoying, we did request a quiet room and judging by what we had I think they made the effort to accommodate this. A/C was very effective in rooms and generally around the Hotel it was very comfortable (very hot and humid outside!) so the A/C effectiveness was very welcome. Pool? yes there is one, a small one on an elevated floor, outdoor. It is usable but not very scenic. If your looking for a beech front hotel this is not for you but if you want to compromise and have good accommodation with a short walk/drive to nice beech areas then this is the one for you. Well worthy of it's 3 star status as marketed on various booking sites. I would not hesitate in booking a room here again in the future should we travel to Barbados again. I think it shows good value for money given the other options in Barbados and what you get for your money (exec suite anyway). Thank you Michael and all those at Courtyard Marriott The Garrison for making us feel so welcome and assisting us during our stay. My reviews are based on facts and real life personal experiences. Everyone has there own idea on what is what so do your research.
The Marriott was very good. Service was excellent. Only drawback was the beach was across the road from the hotel and the gate to get on the beach sometimes trouble to open with the hotel room key. All in all a good trip and very good stay.
Ronnie and I staid at hotel in June 2017 and we are headed back there this winter. As we entered the room, we were met by a warm personal note from Carvyle, our Room Attendant which meant a lot and added value to our check-in experience. At every whim, she accommodated all my request to make our stay the most enjoyable. Love everyone on the property, friendly warm, and knowledgeable about the island of Barbados. Regards R&W
Some friends and I went to Barbados to celebrate a milestone 40th b-day. We stayed at the Courtyard and were extremely pleased with the service. The hotel manager Jon-Ari was extremely helpful and very accommodating in changing our rooms so that my friends and I were all on the same floor with a beach view. Manager Josea was also very pleasant and helpful with recommendations on what to do and ways to travel to certain areas to save some cash (the interns there were also very pleasant and assisted us in so many ways). I feel like the entire crew went over and beyond to make our stay pleasant and memorable and I will definitely stay there during my future visits to Barbados. The bartender Yakssenia made the BEST rum punch on the entire island! When visiting, be sure to ask for her and have her make you a rum punch (I sure am missing her punch as I write this review), but she was kind enough to give me her recipe and I look forward to making it this coming weekend! We enjoyed our stay so much that the day we were scheduled to leave we extended our trip for an extra day and the hotel staff again was very accommodating!
From the time I checked in to check out this Marriott not only met but exceeded my expectations. Check in was refreshing, welcoming and quick and my room and view was wonderful. A slightly outdated decor was forgotten by the view of the ocean from the balcony. Each day I left for work I was told to have an incredible day and each night when I returned I was welcomed back with genuine smiles.
Stayed here a few days for cropover. About 20minutes from the airport via taxi. Located near shopping and eating areas. Staff are friendly and willing to assist with anything. Rooms are clean and housekeeping on par. Taxis readily available at entrance. Food a bit overpriced but generally the consensus in Barbados tourist areas. Breakfast not included in room price (buffet breakfast costs $48bds). However there are many eating areas walking distance around. Wi-Fi has strong signals thoughout hotel and reliable connections. Only downside is that you have to leave the compound and cross the road to access the beach, but there is a pool on the 2nd floor. Didn't stay much in the hotel as I was busy with events, but it is comfortable and would highly recommend.
typical Courtyard quality hotel and amenities clean and good service. nice pool and very nice beach. close to walking sites like restaurants and nightlife. enjoyed my stay will be back. good breakfast and service. a bit pricey but this whole island is expensive.
This is a great hotel for family and friends. The staff was very helpful and informative with the exception one front desk clerk who did not do his due diligence and kept telling my guest that I was not registered there or that I had left. Delwyn (don't quite remember his name) more than made up for this fiasco, he really went above and beyond at check-in. You need to have more employees like him. Pool and gym were my highlights, I did not eat at the hotel (preferred the local fare). The room was very accommodating and clean, next time I will make sure I have a balcony. Love the beds!. My only disappointment was the location from a good beach and no microwave in room. Transportation was excellent. Would stay here again.
I enjoyed my stay here in Barbados. The hotel was very nice in appearance, well cleaned and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with my many questions. As a solo traveler, the location was not ideal for me as it was situated a bit away from many entertainment options. There is a nice restaurant/bar right next door and public transportation is easily accessible on he main road. I was able to take the bus to Oistin's and into the city for a shopping adventure. The beach is directly across the street and easily accessible. Overall, I had a wonderful stay!
