Stayed a few nights in the Grand Bali for a total relaxing unwind start to our holiday and was not disappointed. Staff are very friendly from the get go and the rooms are very spacious, we had pool view. They are Balinese style, bathroom was as big as some hotel rooms, with separate shower, bath and toilet all marble. The bedroom area also very spacious feels like a suite with a good firm king bed. This hotel only has 69 rooms including villas and has to pools so very easy to get sunbed. Breakfast was very good for 4 star with all you could want and varies from day to day. This is a perfect hotel and area for a quiet getaway too just relax without the hustle nd bustle of Kuta and Seminyak. There are Spa's and restaurants locally nearby in town, but most are closed after 10pm. Note there is no lift in this hotel so if you do have mobility issues best to get a lower floor for pool and restaurant, but this hotel is only on 3 floors. I would make only one recommendation to the hotel and that would be to have sponges on the sunbeds, this would make them more comfortable. Finally a big thank you to Marsha on reception we felt like old friends after we left and she always went above and beyond to help.
This is quite a grand place. Lots of wood and lashings of marble. The lobby roof makes a grand impression in itself. The room we had was spacious indeed, with a writing desk in a windowed alcove, bathroom with bath and separate marbled shower cubicle capable of housing a small crowd and a separate toilet. The large balcony with two chairs and table looked onto a modest garden. The AC adjusted admirably, the TV had all sorts of channels from around the world and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was less grand but adequate and the outdoor table-dining next to the pool compensated for what the food lacked. The coffee was the usual execrable stuff served with cost-saving in mind by hotels all over the planet. Something of a crime to be served this swill in Indonesia with its world-class coffees. The beach is a long walk away in the heat or a short shuttle-bus ride provided free by the hotel. You are delivered to the hotel's concession on a lovely corner of a small bay, with fine, white sand, recliner lounges and umbrellas complete with a bar cafe that can charge to your room. Be warned that if you don't want to burn you should still use sun block or otherwise cover up even if sitting resolutely under an umbrella. The fierce tropical sun reflects off the sand and those not prone to easy tanning will end up going back to the hotel looking like lobsters. It would be wise to consult the hotel staff about the tide schedule because when the tide is out it is a long walk to swimmable water although plenty of people seemed to enjoy just that rather than bathing. Surfboards can be hired nearby, along with instructors perhaps, for when the tide is in and nice beginners' breaks roll in around the small headland. The last bus to the hotel leaves at 5:15 pm and the immediate area seems to close for business. Though there are plenty of restos and shops a short walk away both within the Nusa Dua compound and Jalan Mengiat that leads to the hotel. The beach is unusual in that it is one side of a very narrow and short peninsula. Across the little road from the hotel beach is a public beach with its own pleasures.
Excellent place for a long stay. Old but very clean. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Very good to be here with kids and without. Swimming pool with clean water. Beach is far, but there is a free shuttle to own beach. Food is tasty in hotel and near.
We stayed there for 3 days in December and absolutely loved the place. Truly bali Luxury at an affordable price. Things we really liked: Well appointed big rooms. Bailinese styled interiors Sumptuous Breakfast 24 Hrs in room dining Private beach club at Nusa Dua Beach Prime Location Would love to stay again.
We stayed for 2 nights, this hotel was very good, spacious room, the staff very helpful, nice and clean swimming pool. seems that this hotel well maintained. we really enjoyed our resting time at Nusa Dua.
Very wonderful holidays and my experience stay in very nice room, big room and clean, the staff with professional services and thanks for Ibu Tia for your hospitality, for the future we will recommend this hotel for holiday in Bali
My first trip to Bali. Amazing hotel with lovely staff. Everybody is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. The beach is fantastic and it's definitely worth it to come back again. If you are looking for a peaceful, gorgeous, clean and beautiful hotel you should book here.
The best hotel in Nusa Dua. We are coming to this hotel already for years and its a pleasure because it feels like coming home. Great staff, kind and friendly people! The beach is beautiful and the sand is lovely. We are looking forward to the next time, many thanks! Family Kusters from the Netherlands.
We stayed for 2 nights and had to change to much better. We visited 5-6 another hotels to see friends - any hotel on Nusa dua is better then this (get Melia, Inaya Putri, Marriott Courtyard, Nusa dua beach and spa, Holiday inn and many others with same price range). It is horrible, tacky, old style, smelly hotel far from sea with nothing to offer... Minuses: - very old hotel; - bad style; - poor breakfast; - no even free bikes (all other hotels offer here); - super smelly old shuttle to the beach; - we got very smelly (old humid basement kind) room first night and staff tried to tell all hotels smell same... which is not true; - mosquitos during night; - far from beach (shuttle 10 mins or walk 25); Pluses: - ok pool area; - sub beds in the beach; - helpful staff with ok service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.... only if price like super attractive. We checked prices of others and visited them - any hotel is better then this.....
A 4.5 star rating symbol on the hotel’s paper header belies the grandness of The Grand Hotel Nusa Dua - it is all of 5 stars!! This is one of the best appointed hotels we have stayed in - internationally!! Rooms are very spacious clean and aircon. Staff are just amazing despite some language shortcomings. The pool area has guests flocking this space. Our advice - come here during off peak to enjoy it to the maximum.
