The Space:

Light-filled and thoughtfully designed, Sailors Cottage brings together the simplicity of beach living with the comfort of a modern studio-style home.



The open-plan layout feels spacious and inviting, with the lounge and kitchen flowing directly onto the sunny, private deck. Open the sliders wide and let the sea breeze drift in, or unwind on the outdoor furniture under the striped awning after a swim or a wander into the village.



Inside, the living area is warm, calm, and well equipped. A comfortable sofa, smart TV with Netflix and Chromecast, and a tidy dining nook make it easy to relax after exploring the island. The kitchen has everything you need for simple meals at home, including a coffee machine to start the mornings right.



The bedroom offers a comfortable queen bed, soft natural light, and peaceful privacy. The modern bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower and everything you need for a comfortable stay.



A heat pump keeps the cottage cool in summer and warm in winter, and the fully fenced garden makes this an easy option for guests travelling with pets.

Please note: Minimum stays: 7 nights from Christmas to early January, 3 nights holiday weekends, 2 nights at all other times.



Pets considered on request and must be approved in writing.



Guest Access:

Guests have full, private access to the cottage, deck, and fenced garden throughout their stay. Parking is available directly at the property.

Sailors Cottage by Stay Waiheke sits in one of the most convenient pockets of Oneroa. A gentle five-minute walk leads to the village’s cafés, bakeries, boutique shops, and easy dining options. Oneroa Beach is close enough for morning swims, sunset walks, and lazy afternoons on the sand.



Nearby highlights include Mudbrick and Cable Bay vineyards, Artworks precinct, the Saturday Ostend Markets, and the coastal paths around Owhanake and Church Bay. You’ll be right in the centre of the island’s most-loved food, wine, and coastal experiences.



Getting Around:

The closest bus stop is on Ocean View Road, connecting you to services running between the ferry terminals, Oneroa, Palm Beach, Ostend, and Onetangi. Buses also stop near popular vineyards and The Heke Brewery.



Taxis and shuttles are available island-wide but can be expensive at peak times. Parking is provided at the property for guests with a car.



Other Things to Note:

The cottage is supplied by rainwater tanks, so guests are asked to be mindful of water use.

Minimum stays apply year-round as noted above.

Pets must be approved prior to arrival.



Interaction with Guests:

The Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30am to 5:00pm, with an after-hours line for urgent issues. For life-threatening or property emergencies like fire, please call 111.
