Auckland Airport Kiwi Motel2.5 out of 5.0

Not flash but it was cheap and close enough to the airport. Didn't sleep at all well due to road noise and the area is somewhat dodgy but the motel is secured with 24 hour reception, well fenced and lots of cameras. Loved the free toothbrushes and shavers, not seen that before. The food at the restaurant was very average, would recommend eating somewhere else.
I was here last week and the motel is very clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Gulnaz as she was very humble and nice. We had an early morning flight to catch and it was so nice of her that she arranged a packed breakfast for us.
I guess you get what you pay for. Close to airport with bus service to the door so that was a plus. Other than that the rooms are in need of a makeover, very basic really. Restaurant was not great, pasta was more like glue than food. If we go to Auckland again we won't be staying here.
Have previously stayed in hotel part of this complex. The motel part is very dated interior. We had a double bed and a single bed in our room which the single bed was very hard. It had minimal cooking utensils. Bath room walls needed cleaned. Reviewed the hotel and management wrote back that they had staff training since we had stay and would notice a difference which we found to be not true as while waiting for airport bus another group were checking out and they were complaining about the cleanliness and noise etc of there room and the staff member did not apologise just brushed it off and said they had "tried" to do there best nothing was given or said to rectify this. If you are just using this place to sleep for a day then is okay but wouldn't recommend staying anymore than that
Remember this is a budget motel, so not necessarily a place you would want to stay for any length of time. But, the rooms are large with comfortable beds & pillows, small kitchenette and large walk-in shower. Rooms are a little tired but no complaints. Bonus of free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and only $2 per person to go back. Helpful staff at Front Office. Somewhere I would stay again for an overnight.
Although cheap we won't be staying here again. After an hour of resetting the tv we had one channel. Lumpy bed with a single next to us we thought about moving but it was like a marshmallow. And too many mosquitoes for a good nights sleep.
Not even worth it for one night! Filthy and in very bad condition. Staff not friendly at all from reception to restaurant. Take your dinner in other place. Food not good. We dont recommend this hotel at all.
Went to the N.Z during autumn. for South East Asian and only have 2 kinds of season. the cold really get quite tough. and thank goodness, for that very reason, a shower with a hot water, is a very big YES for me. i booked a private room/private toilet. equipped with a full furnished kitchen, 2 beds. a great TV channel. Jetlag? Done. the scenery is top notch. you can see a clear sky during night. even take a few because it is so unbelievably breath-taking. the front desk, very helpful, book a yellow bus ticket with them. a smooth handling. emailed them several time, to check in early. worth it. sleep the whole day. didnt hear any noise from people next door. walking around looking. great place, calming. will book again for my next trip
A good hotel to put your head down before catching our flight. Comfortable , warm and great facilities. Staff at reception were great and very helpful. Thank you . We will be back in a week on our way to catch our flight back to Whanganui.
This place is really close to the airport and has a big kiwi on top. That's about all it has going for it. The staff is fine, the restaurant was fine, and everything was okay. Was charged for a local call to a cab company, the resturant and bar closed early. They dis give my my breakfast to go, and that made me happy, it was marmite, marmalade and bread, such a treat for a traveling expat.
