This was a terrible experience. We arrived to the property around 7:30 pm and unloaded our luggage and groceries. Then we inspected the house & found several cockroaches in each of the bedrooms. Not only was it disgusting, one of our family members is allergic. We contacted the host to ask to be moved to a different property. They offered to send out pest control, but that is not going to solve the problem when you see a few, there are many more. I found a few properties on the hosts' realty website that stated they were available. They told us those were not really available? The only unit they could put us in was a downgrade but we agreed because we could not stay with roaches. This entire process took several hours. We did not get to the other property until midnight. They contacted us the next morning (too early) to set up a time to come and make the property "pet ready". We generously gave them a window of time we would arrange to be there, they said that may or may not work. That also interfered with our activities for the next day. We were thinking of moving to a nicer house a few days later when it became available but were told we would have to pay for a cleaning fee,(even though the first house was not clean). At this point it was not worth the hassle of arguing with them again. We told them we should not be charged for the first night due to the circumstances & even that became a debate. They could only offer 50% off that night (which we still have not received)
