Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown

This old building has been refurbished, but could possibly used a little freshening here and there (elevators, entrance). The rooms/suites are spacious and easily accommodate the needs of business guests. The staff was superb - the friendliest I've ever met in my many years of hotel stays. Included breakfast and dining room were a plus. My rating would have been higher had a roach or other similar bug not crawled on my back and wrist, waking me up on the last night. I killed it in he morning and showed it to the manager, who would have provided a discount had I booked direct, rather than through Orbitz. She promised to attend to the issue. Again, I don't deduct too much for the roach/bug, since the positives, especially the staff friendliness and helpfulness were great.

In a historic building so it's cold in spots and warm in other spots. There is no vestibule, so the lobby was frigid and the cold extended up to the second floor breakfast area. The staff was incredibly friendly, but that did not make up for the poor building conditions.

Upon arrival I was greeted warmly, and was pleasantly surprised to see that my "room" was actually a spacious suite. The biggest plus was the phenomenal breakfast buffet included in the room price. The 2 ladies presenting this feast were justifiably proud, & gave exemplary customer service. The hotel location was in an older part of town but I never felt unsafe. It was a 15 min walk to my meeting at CNN/Omni.

Upon arrival to Atlanta we were unable to get to Hotel due to blocking off of streets because of movie filming. I called the hotel and operator put me in contact with their shuttle driver who directed us in and made request to officer on duty to allow us through barricade. Upon arrival was greeted by doormen who explained parking policy, unloaded baggage and escorted us to desk. Had warm greeting and apology for the inconvenience and offered a nice treat . Breakfast was good and staff were very accommodating and friendly. Talking to them was more like we were old friends The hotel is beautiful and the room was very roomy and quiet; had a great view of the city.

Affordable rates though location not the best with lots of foot traffic & homeless but alway a police presence. The staff (especially breakfast staff) was extremely friendly & went out of their way to make our stay pleasant especially for our 2 boys.

Upon arrival the Valets and Front Desk staff were engaging, friendly & helpful. All with warm and inviting personalities. The hospitality staff were polite & thorough. The accommodations were above expection and very comfortable.

My boyfriend and I stayed here with my mother and her boyfriend for an overnight stay to go to Six Flags Fright Fest. For the money the hotel was worth it. It is about 10 minutes from Six Flags. About 30 minutes from downtown. They had a good breakfast, the lobby is beautiful, the rooms and restrooms were clean, the staff was friendly. The price was worth the room, service, location, etc.

Everything was great from the staff to the breakfast to the room and location! I would defiantly recommend.

The best thing in the hotel are the staff and the location. I did not like the too soft mattress

I would stay at this hotel again. The room was very nice and clean. I liked that there were doors separating the bedroom from the sitting area. The room was very clean.

Upon booking this hotel, the reviews were both good and bad. The price was a bonus! The area was very close to down town. There is a shuttle the driver was very informative. They offer valet services, very much worth it (especially since they offer a shuttle). All of the staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was good with several options! The only thing that we were surprised about was that a hair dryer wasn't included in the room. It was our fault for not double checking. Very close to the World of Coke and restaurant areas.

Our stay was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, from the moment we drove up and spoke to the valet. Everyone made us feel welcome. The breakfast was great, the location was convenient, and the price was great. The fact that the hotel was in a century old building was a plus, loved the original items. Definitely recommend this to someone looking for a value and convenience.

I love the hotel room was very update clean staff was great I will give it a 4

The hotel suited our needs perfectly my husband and I had a junior suite for a weeks vacation. The breakfast got us off to a good start each day the laundry was convienent so we didn't have to pack so many clothes and with the Marta across the street we could get all over the city quickly. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again on a future trip.

So the peach drop was in front of the hotel and the crowds were thick. My wife was scared to walk to the GA dome but did and it was fine. The room was very nice. They had a valet delay in am 1/1/12 but not really surprising. I would stay there again if attending an event in DT AtL.

Neighborhood was okay, at best. Clogged sink in kitchenette. Vomit on the sofa sleeper's sheets. Don't they wash those? It's a shame they don't do a better job with maintenance & housekeeping. It's a cool old hotel with a nice room layout.

The hotel itself was great, however it is on the edge of the bad part of town. I didn't feel safe outside after dark.

stayed 4 days at this hotel in downtown Atlanta and it was nice experience by all means. Will sure do again.

good value for the price, nice large rooms, next to MARTA train, verry good free breakfast, good service and staff.

First the good - the staff was excellent at responding to our requests. The room was cleaned in a timely fashion. The hotel was quiet and neat. Good breakfast offerings as well, although the 1-2 staff they have to run that are overwhelmed at times. Now, the not so good. First, this hotel is directly next to the Atlanta Underground - for those who don't know the area, it is "seedy" to say the least. Lots (lots!) of beggars asking for money. So, not the best location from a "nice place to be" standpoint. Other hotels downtown, like the Omni, don't have the same issue. Second, because it fronts a pedestrian walk, there is no place to park a car - they have a valet service that is pretty reasonably priced, but the cars are stored blocks away, and they only have 1-2 drivers available, so you may wait 20-30 minutes for a car (standing out in the cold since the entrance to the hotel is a sidewalk on the Underground). My other comment involves the city itself - while there are a few attractions to see (Coke museum, aquarium, CNN, Carter Center, MLK museum) - the vast majority of the city is closed on weekends. This includes restaurants as well. Who heard of a Starbucks not being open on the weekend on a busy city street? The hotel has no on-site restaurant or food, so getting a meal may be a real challenge for you.
