The proprietors were very nice and polite, and the lobby, hall where our room was, the dining area and the room itself were very clean. The beds were quite comfortable; we slept well. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing, mainly because we were hoping for a more elaborate spread, but no big deal. Overall a good budget option, much appreciated after a long day of driving.
Love the Halloween decorations in the lobby, the night staff was friendly, love the spacious parking area, clean and quite. This hotel could easily be 5 start if the breakfast was awesome but is only bananas, juice, coffee, bagels and granola bars.
Super convenient location close to major stores for food etc.. and across from Stroud Park. The hotel was super clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast could have offered better options and the shower rod could have been better so the shower curtain doesn't slide down.
The lobby did not offer ANY coffee, and the coffee in the room was poor. Even with Covid restrictions, most hotels offer good coffee in the lobby. There was no substitute for the breakfast like a bag with fruit, water, bagel or muffin and snacks. View from window looked like a junkyard.

Liked the waffle iron in the breakfast room. Other breakfast selections were ok. At check-in the woman at the front desk wasn't welcoming or friendly at all. The first thing she did was ask for my driver's license. Very curt. I was really put off by this and if I had not pre-paid I would have left and gone somewhere else. However the other reception person (a younger man) was pleasant and smiled. It was clean, everything was in order, but the decor was quite basic. All the lamp shades were very old and didn't sit straight. And the location was several miles out of town and situated next to a junk yard. Altogether, if you get a good buy on the room rate, it is OK, clean and safe.
Pet friendly? Web said 15 dollars a night 20 for stay.Cost 58 dollars for 2 nights, I don't argue, I don't go back!
It was conveniently located. The staff is efficient and the motel was clean. It is what one would expect when traveling.
Inadvertently booked a smoking room. Staff stated they had no non-smoking queen rooms, charged us$30 additional for a non-smoking king. Orbitz showed they had 6 available non-smoking queen rooms.
Clean and convenient to StatevStreet restaurants, stores and Ohio University campus.
Owner manager screamed at us upon check in. Unknowingly we booked a smoking room on Orbitz. Manager was very belligerent telling us it was obviously our fault. Charged $70. to change, because they were booked. That was obviously a stretch. Very few cars in the parking lot. Had to stay all four nights because we prepaid Orbitz. Won’t make that mistake again. Motel is a mile or more from restaurants, downtown. Breakfast was very lacking. Especially for someone gluten free. No fruit,or anything fresh at all. Outside of this motel mistake Athens was a very pleasant place to visit.
Always clean and quiet! I always stay at the Super 8 when visiting Athens. I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid deal.
