The staff were exceptional, the property was clean, quiet and decorated very nice for the holidays.
The property was fine. We had a power outage (caused by a thunderstorm) during our stay, which cut off part of the hotel's power, so no bathroom light, hot water, hot breakfast or wifi for 24 hours or more. Little nitpicks: the sink and tub would not hold water. Staff were very helpful. I would stay again.
Very nice for price. Nice updated rooms. Great breakfast every morning.
Overall, the hotel was clean and the room was good. We just didn't have any hot water. Since it was late, we really had to get to bed. Staff just said they didn't know how long it would be. They didn't even offer another room or anything. It happens but he supervisor did nothing but make a phone call. I do not blame the facility at all. Like I said, it happens. Manager just didn't have the right skill set to assist us.
I was visiting Charleston just for fun for a night! This was great because it was close enough to the downtown area, but not too close! The surrounding stores and restaurants were perfect! I wish i would have stayed longer! The best part I think about this hotel was the fact that the pool was open until midnight! How great! The staff was great- and everything was super clean!
Stayed 1 night to drop off son at OU. Hampton In Athens is on a main road, E. State St., 3 miles direct to OU campus. A good location, campus easy access. Exterior of Inn,lobby and room were exceptionally clean. Bathroom was spotless. No problems with noise at night. Nice serve yourself Breakfast included. No lounge or eatery on Inn grounds but several close by (I walked). Staff was friendly. Not the most inexpensive place to stay in Athens, but I will return.
Traveled to Athens for OU Family Weekend. The hotel was easy to find even though it was a couple miles off US 33. New with all the current amenities: coffee, tea and fruit available in the lobby around the clock; very nice breakfast bar; large bathroom; enjoyed the sitting area in the king w/sofa sleeper room; view out west window was to ridge line where deer were spotted.
We road our Harley 300 miles so we could visit our son at collage. It rained the last 250 miles of the trip. When we got tho the hotel the staff gave us extra towels so we could wipe our bike off. They told us to park under the canape so the bike would stay dry. It was like we went home to visit mom!
The stay was great. Very nice staff and awesome pool
This was a very good stay
I travel to watch my daughter compete. Have stayed in several hotels this season. This was the best experience thus far. Two teams in the hotel but was quiet and I was even on the ground floor off the lobby. Room was very clean and comfie. LOVED the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful! Too bad I didn't have time for the pool/whirlpool....
used the fitness center and pool decor was very comfortable and clean breakfast was great and free staff was friendly complimentary cookies delicious
Room was large, comfortable, and clean. The pool was "taken over" by young kids, but they were well behaved. The people across the hallway were loud, but that is more a reflection on them, not the hotel. We stayed one night to bring our daughter back to college from winter break.
Booked online, however the AAA rate was better than the online rate and the clerk let me use the AAA rate. The staff was very friendly, always a smile.
The Hampton Inn Athens was very clean and had very nice rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was very tasteful and saved us some time.
Until recently, of the few hotels/motels in Athens, Ohio, one was very fancy and the rest were pretty low-grade. With the opening of the Hampton, there is now another option. The Hampton is a bit farther from the university, but Athens in tiny and nothing is more than 10 minutes from anything. This is on the one stretch of road that has all the chain restaurants and stores, but it's set back from the road and up a hill, so you're not right in the middle of everything (but close enough if you need something).
