Atlanta Highway is well populated with malls, fast food, and easy access to highways. Checked in early and was well taken care of. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Goody bag for Choice membership was nice. Breakfast was good. Hotel is noisy with shower sounds in neighboring room and parking is close to rooms so it was loud at times. But still Very Good rating.
Furniture is modern and updated. Renovations look great and room was comfortable. Grounds were well-maintained. Staff was polite. We really enjoyed staying here but if you plan to stay for several days it is difficult to get to the entrance pending on which side of the highway you are commuting from. Highly recommend this Quality Inn. Bonus: the desk is amazing and comfortable to use with you IPAD or laptop.
I stay here most of the time when I'm in Athens because it is a recently updated hotel and has comfortable beds and a good price. However, my credit card information has been stolen twice now and the only hotel I stay at that keeps a copy of my DL and Credit Card is this hotel. I even had my card replaced with a new one which I used a few weeks ago and today my Choice Privileges Visa Card was stolen again with someone trying to rack up nearly $2,000 on my card. Not sure if they are selling my information on the dark web or using it themselves for a heck of a vacation, but I may never stay at this hotel again because I only use my Choice Visa card at Choice Hotels and this is the only hotel I've stayed at and used both of my Choice credit cards I've received. Disappointing for sure and if others are reporting similar complaints they need an investigation done asap here. Also this is all coincidental and have no proof to be 100% sure as it could also be another hotel I stay at, but I've stayed at the other one for nearly a decade and never had issues. It was only after I started staying here after the property was renovated that these issues began to occur. And this is the only hotel out of dozens I stay at across the Southeast that wants a copy of my DL and CC every time I visit. Ridiculous.
If I could give this place a negative rating I would. I checked into my room at 8:30 pm and immediately went to sleep. I was awaken at 10:30 pm by a man banging on my door and demanding to be let into my room. I was startled and lay there for a minute thinking maybe they were knocking on the room door next to my room. Nope. A moment later, again loud banging on my door and demands to be let in. Now, I was in this room alone and this was incredibly unnerving. I walked to the door and asked him what he wanted. The man said he smelled smoke and again demanded to be let in my room. I told him through the door that I wasn't smoking and I wasn't burning anything and that I wasn't going to allow him into my room. Again he started banging on my door saying the same thing adding the threat to call the police which I told he he could go right ahead but I wasn't letting him in. He kept pounding on my door and finally, I got very angry and yanked open my door and the man identified himself as the manager and said he smelled smoke and needed to inspect my room. I lost it on him. I COULD NOT BELIEVE A MANAGER WOULD BEHAVE THIS WAY. I told him that I was sleeping and alone and that he would not under any circumstances be entering my room and if he needed to, to call the police. I asked him if he thought it was appropiate to bang on the door of a woman the he knew was checked in alone and demand to be let into her room. He kept telling at me to calm down and keep quiet but I was livid. I asked why they couldn't simply pick up the phone and call my room and ask if I was smoking or at least let me know that someone would stop by my room. His excuse was they didn't want to call my room in case nobody was in the room!?! WTF? I slammed the door in his face. I changed my clothes and packed up and went to the lobby and demanded a refund, which they gave. The manager knew he handled it poorly and wouldn't even show his face. He made the clerk deal with me and unfortunately she got a earful from me as well. They kept saying that they smelled marijuana. If I had been smoking marijuana, they could have easily smelled it outside my room but they didn't. They admitted that they ASSUMED it was coming from my room because my room was closest to the office. I was literally shaking after this. I could barely get dressed. My hands, my feet and my whole body was shaking. There are few times in my life that I have felt completely horrified and this was one. To be a single woman alone in a hotel room and be awoken and treated in that manner is unspeakable. Shame on the management of this hotel. I will be contacting corporate.
We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights 7 days and I would most likely stay here again. Lets do the positives first because lets face it we don't read past the bad. The bed was one of the most comfy I have slept it. My husband likes a more hard bed and I like a soft bed and this was just perfect to both of us. Asked for extra pillows and didn't get them but once I tried their pillows it didn't matter..Wonderful is all I can say. Their tv isn't a tiny little thing like in most hotels and they had a fridge and microwave in the room. The toilet is separated from the bathroom sink which is nice when you are not used to southern food if you catch my drift. Extra locks on the door provided me with comfort and many charging stations and Plugs was also nice. The staff was MOSTLY lovely (I will get to that later) and the building was kept very updated and clean on the inside. There is ample parking but some people park like buttholes so that gets annoying. When we couldn't find a spot the night shift worker moved their car for us to park where they were parked. was kind of them. I cannot comment on the morning breakfast because I had no interest in being up before 10 am on vacation. Here are some negatives that we came across during our stay. We found a cockroach in our room, just 1. I am from a city in Canada and never really had to experience that before so it freaked me out, but the manager handled it so well. I was very thankful. Ants just flooded our car while it was parked over night. I was able to get rid of them and I UNDERSTAND that the ants in Georgia were just something terrible this year but wow did it suck. There were stains on the chair (in picture) so we didn't even dare sit on it but that's ok. I didn't miss not using it. The person who signed us out was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Not only did she roll her eyes and practically force my husband to hand sanitize his hands after sneezing into his SHOULDER, she insulted other employees directly to us for doing their job correctly, but it made more work for her so she was angry. She had a horrible attitude it made me very upset. glad it was upon checkout but I feel bad for those who check in or have to deal with this young lady. The bathroom fan is incredibly loud.. my goodness. and the fridge made loud noises all night but I got used to it. Also, we were next to what I think was the laundry room so that was annoying. All in all, the distance wasn't that far from anything, you are close to most things. IF YOU DRIVE this is a great little location, and if you do not drive I suggest looking for else where. Getting into the hotel can be hard coming from one direction but you will learn quite quick. price for what you get was pretty on par.
This is the nicest Quality Inn I've ever stayed at. Someone spent some money here. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The grounds are nicely maintained. All in all it was a very good value. Would recommend. Gave it a five for value.
Stayed 2 days with 7 others in my golf group. We all had clean and updated rooms. Furnishings we're very nice and wifi was fast. This is not a hotel with a spa, workout area nor a pool. If you want that, look elsewhere. Oh, the breakfast was hot and fresh and the staff very helpful and friendly. My five star rating is for a great value priced facility. We'll be back.
Like most hotels you get what you pay for, this is no exception. It was a decent price for a decent hotel. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff was friendly and it was in a decent location. If I stay in Athens again and can get the great low price I did, I will definitely sty again.
We stayed here in Sept. 2015 for the first time and were totally impressed, so being in the area again we decided to stay here again and we're not disappointed. The place has been maintained as well as one could and there was no indication that the renovation was 2 years ago, in fact the outside landscaping has been improved. If you want a place that has caring owners, this is it. We will stay again if we are in the area.
The Quality inn &suits in ATHENS Georgia is a very nice option for travels in the area. The hotel seems newly renovated. It is well-maintained and very clean. However, what sets this place above is the exemplary customer service provided by the entire staff. This includes the front desk staff, the cleaning staff and maintenance. They cannot do enough to please you and make sure that your stay is pleasant
