An excellent suite apartment in central Athen

An excellent size suite apartment in the heart of Athens. The place is in a great location just two blocks from Panepistimio metro station, and just a little further from Syntagma and Omania. An easy hike to the lookout on Lycabettus Hill, but also just outside any late night places so that it is quiet at night. The host are excellent communicators, responding quickly to inquiries and giving clear instructions for checking in and out. The dual air conditioners keep the place cool if needed, along with a refrigerator, hot place, coffee machine, and furniture to keep as comfortable as needed when one needs a break. While there is an elevator, the apartments are in a 3rd floor, so one will need to navigate stairs, but this area of Athens is already one best for walkers/climbers. Definitely recommended for a multi-day trip if to Athens!

Close to Panepistimio and Syntagma Stations. Many restaurants and bars nearby. Quiet property (except when the couple in one of the other apartments were having a very enthusiastic shouting match). Other occupants of the building were peaceful and polite. One mosquito came in and it took me a while to fight it into submission. Possibly my fault for opening the window wide, but I wanted some fresh air. I used the iron, the ironing board, the Nespresso machine, and the fridge, but I didn't use the minimal cooking equipment, nor the TV. I found some delicious fruit at nearby Deli and Fresh, and Nespresso capsules at the nearby Nespresso boutique. It took me a little while to find out how to turn on the water heater (I didn't manage to get the QR code to point me at the information) - but I found the water-heater switch in the fuse box after I had tried every other location. On one afternoon only, I was unable to unlock the street door as it appeared to be bolted. I sent off an e-mail to Olala Support and within five minutes I heard the street door unbolt itself remotely. Nobody knows what happened or who resolved it. After that, the door locking returned to normal, and I had no further problems. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay.

Perfect Choice!!!

We stayed at each of the 3 units at 52 Solonos. The facilities were wonderful. Treats in the refrigerator and an espresso maker with all the makings. All of the amenities including washer/dryer, ironing board, hair dryer...and the most helpful hosts. Location was perfect. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood as well as to Syntagma. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The property was within walking distance of the Acropolis and everything downtown. Kolonaki is a nice little town. What I did not like about the place was that it was very noisy. You can hear people going in and out of the other rooms, and hear all their conversations.

Not what you expect when you see the pics…

Really average and “cheap”. No natural lighting as the windows give to a blind yard (fotagogos). Very intense humidity/mould smell. Furniture was worn out. TV wasn’t properly working, due to very bad signal/internet connection during my whole stay (3 days). Price was low, location is super convenient and the room and bathroom was clean. But depressive and smelly.
