Great location just a very short walk from the Acropolis, shopping and restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, beautifully appointed and had a great shower! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They also arranged our transportation back and forth to the airport - a perfect stay in Athens.
We enjoyed the warm hospitality of the AVA hotel just for a short stay, but we could not have been happier with our choice. Location. ...location location: Yes, the AVA hotel has it all: It's in the middle of the historic and cozy Plaka district. I think that you just cannot be in a better location to enjoy Athens, right on your doorstep. It's so nice to be able to walk out and go for sightseeing or a meal on any of a hundred street side restaurants without the need for a taxi. A view of the Akropolis as well as the Hadrians Arch and the Temple of Zeus from the Balcony of the suite is the ultimate in bringing history to your doorstep. Room: We were very pleased with the size and quality of our executive suite. The small kitchenette added to the pleasant feeling of a modern, luxurious and pleasant feeling. The only thing that could have been better would be that the shower created a bit of a bathroom flooding because the seals were not so tight. - A minor issue really. The living room doubled up as a bedroom for the children, with a sofabed and the option to add a separate rollaway. Service: Staff could not have been more friendly and pleasant. Both in e-mail communication as well as in person at the front desk. Breakfast: It was included in our rate, and it was ok. Just expect something rather local and not an "all american" or otherwise overly lavish selection and you'll be fine. The next time we're in Athens, we'll definitely come back, and I consider ourselves very lucky that we found a room here to experience this gem of a hotel.
Beautiful room, gorgeous balcony, and great location. We also enjoyed breakfast. Location you can not beat. All the staff was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much. Would love to go back again for a longer visit.
We stayed 2 nights in the deluxe suite. It was fantastic for our family and was a nice change after leaving the very cramped space of the cruise ship rooms. The balcony is huge with fantastic views of the Acropolis. Everything was clean, designed beautifully, and spacious. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom, bath. Everything you could need. The breakfast was great with many options - even fresh squeezed OJ. A/C throughout entire hotel was great (needed at 101 degrees). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was fantastic
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was comfortable. The location was great! Our stay there was most enjoyable and I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers. I would also suggest that travellers take advantage of the Greek experience package offered by the hotel.
We (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at AVA in summer 2017 for two nights. The Executive Suite was quiet (despite busy street), spacious, and clean. AC was cold and kitchenette was good with fridge for water bottles. Breakfast was good as well. The location was excellent for exploring Athens. The staff was excellent, but especially Vassia (sp?). She was extraordinarily kind to us and went out of her way to help on several occasions. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and had excellent suggestions as to what to see and do, and where to eat. We highly recommend AVA Hotel and hope to be back soon.
They have a incredible location, steps from great shops, walks, cafes, and the ancient Athens archeological sites . Good breakfast, and wonderful staff. This is the place to stay if you want to experience the peaceful , safe part of Athens.
This was a repeat visit for us. I can't remember whether it was the fifth or sixth or seventh time that we've stayed there and had a perfect visit. The hotel has an excellent central location in The Plaka, minutes away from The Acropolis and other touristic sites. The staff goes above and beyond to help with recommendations and help when you need it. Rooms are some of the best we've had at any hotel in Athens, and that includes the fabled Grande Bretagne. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say! The only problem now is that the hotel is so popular, it's becoming harder to get reservations. So plan way ahead for one of the nicest- and I think best - hotels in Athens!
I stayed in Ava Hotel with a friend and it was a perfect stay. The location obviously is great, laying beside the Akropolis and Plaka old centre, and the rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. However, what is way beyond average and stands out most, is the extremely friendly staff of Ava! Always ready to help us, a smile and nice gestures. We felt like a king and queen! Even when i was sick, they cared for me like a family, providing me with anything i needed to get well soon. Thanks a lot for all of your kindness, it was lovely staying again with you! All the best, Mel
Ava Hotel was recommended to us by our friend and trade partner Photis. and it lived up to every expectation. Boutique, fresh, trendy, new rooms, great breakfast (that bread was just yum) close to all the major sightseeing, and the Old city , Acropolis, shopping , everything was either within walking distance or a short bus/metro hop.
