A Bit Disappointing

We live in Athens, but booked a room downtown to celebrate our anniversary. I used to think the Hyatt was the best hotel in town. But there were problems. I booked a view room and we had a view of the parking lot, not downtown. We would have tried to change it, but the one poor guy at the desk was dealing with a large group and it was not possible. We had specifically planned to watch the sunset from the HyBar (the rooftop bar), but it was closed (currently closed on Sunday and Monday). No warning on the website, just a sign posted at the front desk. Self-parking is a $14 charge. The room was just OK. Breakfast was not great, but decent. On future stays, we will probably book at another hotel.

Visiting my daughter. Great location. Front desk staff seemed to be anxious for shift to end. Hubar delayed opening until 3:30. Lobby bar didn’t open until 5. No food until 5?? Seemed odd that a hotel at that expense can’t figure out a friendly staff and food and drinks all day. Great views upstairs once it finally opened. Sucked that you had to cross the breeze way to get to the roof top and it only allowed up when the Hybar allowed you entrance. They didn’t seem to care about what time they advertised as open (3pm) vs whe. They were ready. We were told, “they were still cutting fruit”. Several phone calls and several complaints later at least 50% of the patrons left for other opportunities. Once opened, the bar was under staffed and struggled to keep up. Although friendly, defiantly under prepared and dreaded. For the price paid I would recommend staying at neighboring hotels and wait until 5 and take advantage of the amenities offered… but be prepared to wait, as service is not the top priority

We always love this property. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms and parking are fantastic and clean. The breakfast is bountiful and constantly replenished and provides a variety of choices to for every palette. The only thing that it is lacking is a microwave in the rooms. The only microwave is situated next to the bar on a cart and it is old and industrial looking with no turntable, just an old school square box inside. Having to go downstairs from my 7th floor room to heat up something is very inconvenient, especially at this price point.

Stay for the location AND breakfast

This is my second time staying at this hotel. One night only. Overall, a nice property right in downtown Athens. Close to many bars and restaurants. Rooms are a little dated, but decent. The one thing that stands out for me is the excellent breakfast. One of the best, included with your stay.

Location makes it worth it

Stay for visit with family. Excellent location, comfort and breakfast. Ice is only available on two floors and I had a direct view of the parking lot which was just outside my window. They have a rooftop bar /restaraunt that we didn’t try Would stay again
