Location, location. Close to Biltmore House. Residence Inn concept works well with spacious rooms with kitchen. Room had fireplace which made it more special. Friendly staff. Hotel looks at bit old. Breakfast was reasonable.
Great location near Biltmore. Can walk to several restaurants and breweries. Rooms are spacious and breakfast is better than average. Had an issue with a nearby barking dog that they resolved by relocating us when the owner could not be quickly located. Plenty of hot water for showers and the laundry worked well. Netflix on hotel internet worked well. One of the TVs in our first room did not have HDMI input. Breakfast was above average and we enjoyed the additional social events they had.
We went on a weekend getaway to the Biltmore and stayed at the Residence Inn. The people that work here are friendly, professional, and always welcomed us back 'home' with a smile and friendly greeting. I spoke with Andrew a few weeks before our stay and he went above and beyond to make reservation tickets for my family at the Biltmore. When we went to will call, our tickets were ready and everything was in order. I was so impressed by this hotel that I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Asheville. The room was clean and spacious. The morning breakfast crew led by Pepe was one of the finest teams I have seen at any Marriott. The breakfast bar was clean, the food was hot, and they were so on top of everything I was truly beside myself watching them work. Andrew, thank you for everything! You and your team helped us have a great vacation and we will definitely be back to see you again!
I have been staying here for many years; usually 2 to 3 weeks in October. This hotel has consistently remained fantastic. Everything from the housekeeping staff, to the front desk staff, to the wonderful staff in the breakfast area – everyone is so nice and they run a very tight ship. This year (Oct 2017), I sprung for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath room on the 3rd floor (Rm 321) for 2 weeks. The location was perfect, quiet and had a nice view. All rooms have a fully-equipped kitchen. I love these rooms, especially when you are more than one person travelling – the 2 bedroom allows you privacy and a lot of space. My room had 3 TVs (living room, and both bedrooms), a fireplace, and was very bright and sunny – couldn’t have been better. The beds are so comfy, you won’t want to get out of them in the morning (1 queen in each bedroom)! The hotel has an indoor pool (I didn’t use it, but it was pretty), and a great outdoor patio place with a barbeque grill and several tables available to guests. There's also a basketball court. Asheville is a very dog-friendly and this hotel is too; there were several dogs with their humans staying here (there is a cleaning fee when you have a dog and you have to register any pet with the front desk). There is a coin laundry with 2 washers (HE) and 2 dryers on the second floor. This is very convenient with you have a long-term stay. Washers $1.25, dryers $1.00. On certain nights of the week (not every night), they serve food or desserts or just snacks. One night they had amazing desserts, another night they had hotdogs and sauerkraut, and one night they had hamburgers, cole slaw, potato salad, and a nice green salad – it was really nice! There is a hot, complimentary, breakfast buffet every morning (lots of food). Parking is free onsite and is plentiful. The housekeeping staff on our floor was exceptional. Jeremy is just the nicest young man. He has a bundle of energy and is an excellent housekeeper; Ana was great too – hardworking and very nice! Everything was kept super-clean and tidy. I came in contact with a lot of the housekeeping staff and all were so pleasant. Pepe and ladies who work the breakfast room in the mornings are also exceptional. They all keep the place tidy, the tables wiped down, and the food is always quickly replenished. Pepe was especially kind to my elderly mother, and it was very much appreciated. Prices are competitive for this area; and I think this hotel is even a little cheaper than most (Asheville is expensive), and you get a lot for your money here; full kitchen, including dishes and dishwasher, spacious rooms, and a very comfortable living space. The location is great – just about a mile right into the downtown area (bus stop close by). There are a couple fast food restaurants within walking distance, and the fancy-schmancy Biltmore Shopping Village (high-end shops) is within walking distance (a few blocks). The Biltmore House is just a very short drive away. I can’t say much more than I have in my other reviews. The last time I was here was Oct., 2014, and they made several updates since them (the breakfast room is really nice!). The hotel is still fantastic in my opinion, and I will keep coming here in the years to come. If I had one negative, it is that they don't seem to recycle here. They use real plates in the breakfast area, but there were no recycle bins. I asked about it and the person told me they were working on it. Asheville is a VERY recycle-friendly town, so this surprised me a little. This isn't even a negative to a lot of people, but I love a green hotel. :) All good. Stay here, you won’t regret it.
Comfortable suite, nice breakfast, super service from all employees. Very convenient parking. Close to everything I needed. Very pretty grounds. They have Biltmore Wines for sale in the lobby along with snacks.
We recently came to Asheville for medical care. We stayed at the Residence Inn for 11 days. The rooms were spacious with a full size stove/oven/microwave/refrigerator and diswasher. On Monday, Jennifer, was our housekeeper. We had just finished a light lunch and were rushing out the door to my doctors apt. and Jennifer not only cleaned our room but washed up our lunch dishes as well. She left us the sweetest note and said she hoped everything went well for us today. She didn't have to take the time to do that. It was very much appreciated. Mon-Wed they offered a light dinner downstairs and it was really good. We especially liked the cheeseburgers and the BBQ.
Just got back today from a week trip to Asheville. Stayed the entire week at this hotel. Overall it was a very good stay and i would stay here again. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly. Room was spacious. Breakfast was your usual hotel breakfast food with a few extra amenities such as a choice of sausages. The location was very convenient to everywhere we went during the week - into town, the Biltmore, and hiking in various locations. My only recommendation would be that given that Asheville receives a lot of tourists, the hotel staff should be more knowledgable about the area. A few times we asked for recommendations for things (restaurants etc.) information about possible road closures, directions, etc. and the staff were unable to provide much help. Otherwise, a good place to stay in the area.
Staff super friendly and very accommodating. They where very attentive to our needs and was more than happy to make our stay enjoyable. Great for local information and extremely helpful in restaurants and local places of interest.
I reserved 2 rooms at the Residence Inn - Asheville Downtown for 07/28/2017 - 07/30/2017 - Room number: 125 and 126. I was extremely disappointed in this stay. We left the room around 11am to noon for the day and returned around 7pm and our room had not been cleaned at all. Dirty Towels, Trash and Dirty Dishes were all still there that we left in the morning. I called the front desk and they said that the housekeeping had left for the day and they would send someone to take out our trash and bring us clean towels. Very, Very disappointing for a Marriott. We were all tired and wanted to return to a nice, clean room. We spent alot of money for these 2 rooms for a family weekend in Asheville to be treated this way. I am also a Marriott Platium Elite member.
The location was convenient. The staff was amazing. The room was very clean. Included breakfast not only had choices , but also healthy choices . Three nights a week there was a social get together for the guests that included food, local wines and beer as well as nonalcoholic beverages. My husband and I were there for two weeks and had not one complaint. Again the staff was AMAZING!!!!
