Hotel was gorgeous with a terrific staff! Truly a home away from home. It was conveniently located in close proximity to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore estate. Also thoroughly enjoyed the mountain view from our suite! Will definitely stay here again!

Yes, the hotel staff was friendly... after we put them on the phone with the third party booking company who confirmed our reservation was not cancelled as shown in the hotel's system. Yes, there was free hot breakfast and an evening reception... but the breakfast was overcooked--we stuck with yogurt and toast--and the best things going in the evening was the soup and wine/beer. Didn't appear as if they regularly vacuumed the hallways during our multi-night stay. My husband had to convince me the sock in plain view in the bedroom was not his or our son's. Had to let one another pass to move around in the bedroom, vanity and kitchen. Curb parked a couple of nights, as there weren't any parking spaces available. My husband was a little not pleased that we overpaid when we could've gotten more for our money elsewhere.

Hotel was very clean. Small work out area but the precor equipment is very nice. Work out area is well above average compared to other hotels. Complimentary breakfast and dinner were a plus with nice clean eating area. Only issue is that the food was average. Breakfast was better than that nights particular dinner. May have just been an unlucky night for my taste. But other than the taste, the complimentary food was a very nice gesture. Very friendly and helpful staff and the cleaning crew was always busy and taking pride in the cleanliness of the hotel. I would stay again.

The hotel was conveniently located and clean. My issue with the hotel is that we were put in a smoking room. I was very surprised when I arrived at the hotel and the person working at the front desk was rather rude about it. When I said something about his attitude, he did an about face and offered to set up the ozone machine while I was at dinner. Unfortunately, it didn’t help with the smoke and we ended up leaving a day early. Note: My original request specified a non-smoking room, but when it came to finalizing the reservation, apparently there were no non-smoking rooms so they defaulted to a smoking room without my realizing it.

Very comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner was a nice convnient touch. Shower pressure was non existent and water was a little brown when first turned on.

After asking for a fitted sheet and febreeze, they never arrived. After calling back the front desk, our needs had never been passed on to the appropriate staff member.

We booked a smoking room by mistake. When I called the front desk, they explained it was the last room but they could spray febreeze. Only problem was they never came. Finally at 10pm I called to say never mind, the kids fell asleep and the woman who answered the phone said she was never told to come spray by the 1st person who took my call. We also needed a fitted sheet for the sleeper sofa which was never delivered.

When we arrived we were told that our reservation was for a smoking room and all other rooms were booked. Since the reservation was non-refundable, we were stuck. My wife and I are lifelong non-smokers and would never have requested smoking through an on-line booking site. The hotel did its best to mitigate the stench, but it was a losing battle. They were able to switch us to a regular room on the second night. I will never book a non-smokefree hotel again and will never, ever use (starts with an O) again. The rest of the hotel amenities were first-rate.

the stay was fun. staff in breakfast / dining room could have been little more pleasant. pool and hot tub water filters weren't even running had lots of stuff floating in water room was great.

Hotel personnel were very couteous and friendly. The only complaint we would have, and it is minor, is that the cooked portion of the breakfast was VERY bland. Someone should taste it. It wasn't worth the calories. Everything else was fine.

Enjoyed my stay there with friendly service, free breakfasts daily and free dinner (Mon-Thursday).

HOTEL WAS GOOD, BUT FOR ALMOST $300 I EXPECTED BETTER... ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT SHOWER TILE HAD ???MOLD ON IT??? .. WHEN THE ROOM ABOVE FLUSHED THE TOILET YOU COULD HERE IT GO DOWN THE PIPES IN THE WALL... AND THERE WAS SOME WEIRD HUMMING NOISE EVERY SO OFTEN.. NOT SURE WHAT THAT WAS.. OTHERWISE LOBBY AND HALL WAYS QUIET AND CLEAN. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT GREAT SET UP.. I WOULD STAY AGAIN

We spent a week at Homewood Suites. We spent more on this hotel than we ever had before, but it more than paid for itself. Between the huge, delicious breakfast buffet and a terrific supper, we spent zero on food the entire week! It was comfortable, quiet, clean, and friendly. We will definitely look for this hotel wherever we vacation!

Even before we checked in we were introduced to their outstanding service. When we arrived, there were no spaces available in the parking lot. One of the desk workers offered to move his car, so we could have a parking space. Throughout our stay every employee greeted us with a smile and a warm comment. The breakfast area was clean and full of a delicious variety of foods each day. Even though it was not overly crowded we saw a member of management helping the other staff members maintain the seating area while greeting guests. When we inquired about the location of points of interest, the desk staff offered convenient written directions and even discount coupons.

My wife and I went to Asheville for a retreat. We spent the weekend in the hotel to plan our next year. We chose this hotel because it was a suite room. The staff were great, the rooms were clean & quiet. The gym was small but very clean and nice. The pool was small but we didn't use it and never saw more than 2 people in it at a time. Free breakfast was great. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it. Several nice restaurants were close too.

We stayed at the Tunnel Road Homewood Suites from Thursday until Sunday through New Year's weekend. This hotel had a lot of potential, and there was a lot of good aspects of our stay...but sadly there were several bad aspects as well, and unfortunately the bad always seems to blot out the good. The Good: The management staff was top notch. I went to the front counter and a member of management helped me with some of my trip planning. He printed me out a list of local restaurants with information about each one, which was great. He was extremely helpful and was responsible for some of the great places we ended up visiting. The hotel itself is in a great location, just outside of the downtown Asheville area and right near about 30 restaurants and a nice sized shopping mall, and also right off the highway. The room was very nice, and it had a full kitchen including a stove, microwave, sink, and dishwasher. It was also very clean, which is a big deal for us. The facilities are pretty nice too. They have a nice little gym, and a very nice indoor pool. I wish we had brought our bathing suits! The Bad: Even though my experience with management (and some of the other staff) was very good, there were two separate incidents where the staff was not only unhelpful, but flat out rude. When we arrived, it was too early to check in, so there was no room ready for us, which is understandable. They were willing to hold our bags for us, which was good enough. Our 11 month old daughter, without going into detail, badly needed a diaper change, but the bathrooms had no changing station. We approached the man at the front desk and asked him if there was a place we could take her to change her and he basically said, "Well, you can't change her here in the lobby. Can't you just go and change her in your car?" Bear in mind that it was about 25 degrees outside. Not a good place for a naked infant. My wife was upset, but still the man offered no solution. She had to take the baby into the women's room and change her clumsily over the sink. Later in the trip, we had to come back to the room early because the baby had gotten sick and needed to have a bath and get changed. Our room hadn't been cleaned yet and we had no clean towels. Down the hall was a housekeeper who was about to begin cleaning another room. My wife stopped him and asked if he wouldn't mind cleaning our room next because we had a sick child and really needed the clean towels and sheets so she could take a nap. He said he would be there after he finished the room he just started. Time passed and he never showed up, so my wife found a different housekeeper and asked her about it. She said she'd let the man know right away. We had the door propped opened, and a couple of minutes later right outside the door we over heard them talking. She said, "Hey, these people here need their room cleaned. Do you mind doing their room next?" He replied something like, "I'm sick of this! I've been hearing this same thing all day. Everyone is sick and needs special treatment!" My wife stepped outside the room and said, "I'm so sorry we're inconveniencing you with our sick child...don't worry about cleaning the room. Just give me some fresh towels and that will be fine." He then said, "Fine, but I need your dirty towels back." No apology. I actually saw him acting rude to another couple earlier that day as well. One other negative was the breakfast. It could have just been what was on the menu that day though. They have something different for breakfast every day, which is pretty cool...but the one day we ate in it wasn't the greatest in my opinion.

Attended a Workshop in Asheville with clients. I found the suite to be spacious enough for three people with room to work alone on business when necessary. The staff was helpful and pleasant at all times. Suite was clean and attractive and everything was available that we needed make the stay very enjoyable. The daily hot breakfast buffets and the four evening buffets were excellent.

My boyfriend and I were in town for the MoogFest music festival. The hotel was in walking distance from downtown (well, we consider 1.5 miles to be walking distance), plus it offered free van rides with in 5 miles until 10 pm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and very comfortable, and we loved having a full kitchen.

We found the location convenient, the accomodations comfortable, clean and accessible, the service friendly and accomodating and the breakfast and dinner time were much more that we expected. For the money, this is the real deal. On our trip back to Louisiana we intentionally stayed at Homewood in Asheville, N.C. and were equally pleased.

Overall our room was big, clean and comfortable. I do agree with another comment regarding the elevators. Our room was next to the elevators, so we heard the elevator each time. The breakfast was fabulous. The hotel staff kind. We would definitely stay again.
