Fly Me to the Moon is a six-bedroom mountain retreat fifteen minutes from
downtown Asheville, with beds for twenty and enough space that everyone
gets a corner of their own. It was built for the trip where four
generations show up at once: grandparents who want a quiet porch swing,
teenagers who want the arcade, and little ones who want the bunk room with
slides between the beds.

FALL IS THIS HOUSE'S BEST SEASON

The ridge out front turns gold and rust from late September through early
November. Peak color along the Blue Ridge Parkway usually lands mid-to-late
October up high and reaches our elevation through the first week of
November. When the afternoon cools, everything you need is right here: a
barrel sauna with a mountain view, a hot tub under open sky, a fire pit
ringed with Adirondack chairs, and an indoor fireplace to gather around
when the sun drops.

Thanksgiving works well here. The kitchen is stocked for cooking for a
crowd, there's seating for eight at the indoor table and twelve at the
outdoor one, and two full washer/dryer sets for a long holiday week.

charging stations.

espresso, and a waffle bar with complimentary mix, syrup, and toppings.

access in the country; go early in the day to beat October traffic.

• Biltmore Estate — 20 minutes. Spectacular in foliage; Christmas at
Biltmore begins in early November.
• North Carolina Arboretum — 25 minutes. 434 acres of superb fall color.
• Pisgah National Forest — 35 minutes. Looking Glass Falls and the Art Loeb
Trail.
• Mount Mitchell State Park — 55 minutes. Highest peak east of the
Mississippi; first color and first frost of the season.
• Asheville Farmers Market — 20 minutes. Apples, cider, and squash all
autumn.
• South Slope Brewery District — 15 minutes
• River Arts District — 15 minutes
• Asheville Regional Airport — 27 minutes

NEIGHBORHOOD — HONEST NOTES
The house sits on a spacious lot with one nearby neighbor, on a quiet,
privately owned street. It's a peaceful interior setting with mountain
views and sunsets, but it is not a remote mountain retreat. The view
includes a distant sightline to Leicester Highway, roughly a quarter to a
half mile away, and depending on time of day and weather some road noise
may be noticeable. The surrounding area is rural and mixed in character,
with larger lots. In fall, with the windows closed and the fire going, the
house is notably quiet.

HOUSE RULES
• No smoking, vaping, or drugs of any kind, inside or outside, anywhere on
the property.
• Up to 2 small dogs (35 lbs or less each) are welcome unless special
permission is given. Dogs are not permitted on furniture or beds and may
not be left alone unless crated. Our usual pet fee is charged at
checkout — please register the number of pets you're bringing.
• We are a shoeless house. There's a cubby at the front door.
• Check-in 4:00 PM. Check-out 10:00 AM.
• Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Registered guests only. Additional guests must be approved in advance.
• No events or parties without prior approval. Responsible alcohol
consumption is fine; large gatherings centered on drinking are not.
• No candles or open flames.
• Secure the hot tub cover and sauna door when not in use. Follow all
posted safety rules. Use at your own risk.
• Please report accidental damage right away so we can fix it before the
next guests.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
• Cancellation policy: We follow the cancellation policy in place at the
time you booked, as shown in your confirmation. If there is any chance
you may need to cancel, we recommend purchasing travel insurance at
checkout. Refunds are not provided outside the booked policy for
weather, illness, or travel disruptions.
• Outdoor cameras: Security cameras are at the entrance to the house for
your safety. They may be recording video and audio. There are no indoor
cameras.
• Damage protection: A damage waiver is included with your cleaning fee
and covers accidental damage during your stay. Intentional damage, or
situations requiring extra cleaning beyond the standard, will be your
responsibility.
• Security deposit: $400, required for every reservation. A hold is placed
2 days before check-in and released 2 days after check-out if there are
no charge requests.
• Rental agreement: A link to our rental agreement will be sent to you to
sign before check-in. You may also be asked to verify your identity. We
use a third party for this through two-factor authentication, and we do
not store any of your personal data.
