Cant complain about anything except internet. Very poor service. Thats it.

Fun for the first few nights , but really nothing to do inside at night . No outside entertainment unless u walk out of the resort

Beautiful scenery loved the food and the staff was always so nice

Fun place to stay. Food was very good especially L'Olio. Very clean. Staff is great. My only complaint is the availability of pool chairs. Guests reserve chairs early in the morning, leave for a couple of hours or longer and you can't find any seats - not fair to guests that sleep in or leave hotel for part of the day.

The staff at the Barcelo is very accommodating. They are willing to correct any issues you might have. The restaurants are a fantastic feasts of food from many different genre. At each restaurant they provide excellent service. The beaches are pure white sand. The water is as blue as the sky. Even at the beach there are servers for your every need. The weather is perfect. If it rained,it rained for only a few minutes and then it was back to glorious sunshine with a cooling breeze. All the members of your family no matter their ages will find something entertaining to fulfill their needs.

Visited this hotel from 1/23/17 to 1/27/17. This was my first all-inclusive trip and I was traveling with my boyfriend (both in our mid-20s). We were looking for a hotel by the beach with open bar and beach access - and this was the perfect resort for our stay. The room was spacious with a balcony with a pool view (even though we just booked a deluxe room). The room was incredibly clean and spacious. The pool and beach were both incredibly clean and beautiful. The bars were well stocked and made delicious drinks -- and even made drinks double/triple when requested. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Some notes and tips I learned that were very helpful: - Make your dinner reservations as soon as you book. Hotel was at capacity when we arrived, so we were grateful that we reserved our dinner spots months in advance. - There's no beach bar -- so bring a 30oz cup for beach drinking. The pool bar is close enough for refills, but the cups are small so drinks go fast. Save yourself legwork and bring a large cup - the bartender was more than happy to give us triples in the larger cup at our request. - Huts/chairs fill up quickly and the resort does not enforce any rules. Wake up at 630AM to put a towel on some chairs to reserve them for the day. Then go back to sleep - eat breakfast - then return to the beach whenever you're ready and you'll still have your seats. I saved our spot at 630AM, slept until 9, and didn't get back to the beach until 11AM and my chairs were still saved.

It was a great vacation - I loved the Japanese restaurant!!

My room was 2126 great location. All employees friendly , the food was very gooD in particular at the restauntants at sdinner The Beach /pool clean. Just babies few children so you can swim at the pool. The last day, i have a Service to pick up me at 2,40 pm. So I ask at hotel to stay more hours in my room because the policy is checking out at 12, so let me until 1,30 pm.

We stayed here for New Year's Eve and the surrounding days. It was quite pricey, but so was everything at that time. The facility itself is far less impressive than other similarly situated properties nearby or other Caribbean destinations. The location is pretty good - close enough to the middle of the strip that you could get anywhere. The food and drinks for the all-inclusive were on the lower end. I've stayed at probably 10 different all-inclusive resorts around the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe and I would say this was bottom 33%. Not awful, and the ala carte options at night were fine. But the lunch options were questionable, the drinks were weak, there was no service at the pool that I could see and DEFINITELY no service at the beach. There were LOADS of kids (it was Christmas break, so I guess it makes sense), too, if that bothers you. The beachfront was very nice, though. Our key card reader stopped working on day 3 and they had to come and repair it during the NYE festivities, which wasn't fun. All in all, I was relatively disappointed. Oh, and the casino was closed "for renovations"... but it turns out that it was closed because they didn't want to pay the staff what was customary, according to other casino workers we talked to. Wish they had told us this before we booked.

The property is well located on a nice beach, and has a nice large pool area which has open access to the beach area and is surrounded on the other three sides by rooms overlooking the pool and looking out to the beach and ocean. These rooms have the best view in my opinion. Of course, there are other rooms with a full ocean view or garden view. Check in was fine. An upgrade was offered after the inexperienced front desk person said the card was declined when, in fact, that was not the case as the senior person at the desk found out. The room was nice and fully appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The food in the Main restaurant was generally good. A wide variety was provided at all meals. However, the standard of the meal and the venue of the specialty Aruba Seafood Restaurant were way below standard for that type of facility. On the other hand, the Romantic Beach Dinner was exceptional. We did not try the Italian Restaurant. Of note also is the poor WiFi arrangement at this property. They charge $12.00/day per device. There is a 1hr free offering but this can be accessed only when located in the lobby. This is my major complaint about this property. I consider the WiFi arrangement a major irritant that is really unnecessary.

My husband and I stayed at Barcelo for one week at the end of November. The hotel was elegantly decorated for Christmas, the rooms were clean. The restaurants for dinner were all very good with the exception of the Mexican restaurant which I did not care for. There was a buffet for breakfast and lunch which was ok. We learned to stick to the omlet station for breakfast and there was another place to get grilled food for lunch. Most of the staff was friendly. I would prefer some top shelf bar items even if it meant the price would go up a bit. The pool area was beautiful and the beach was very nice. I did notice that people would put their belongings on the bed lounges by the pool and then literally not be on them all day. There was a sign that said if you left your belongings for over 2 hours the items would be removed so other guests could enjoy it, but this was not enforced. I felt it was selfish for these people to keep their things there and not use the lounge bed. I was disappointed that the jacuzzis were not working and there were some broken tiles in the hot tubs. 0verall we had a wonderful time and we definately will go back.

Dear LR, Thank you so much for your wonderful rating. We are particularly happy that you enjoyed our restaurants and our services. We are sorry you had problems finding chairs. I can assure you that we do have enough chairs however you should have asked assistance from our personnel to help you getting them. Dear Andy, Thank you for choosing Occidental Grand Aruba and for taking the time to write a review. We are truly disappointed to read that your stay with us did not live up to your expectations. There is no excuse for poor service and not responding to guests' needs, and for that we are truly sorry. Your feedback is important to us as it highlights many areas for improvement, which we will address with our team immediately. The casino is closed and it is not being advertised. It is a pity that you only hear part of the whole casino story which was operated by a third party that left its employees stranded. We hope that you will give us a chance to earn back your trust and I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Occidental Grand Aruba Management
