Really nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff. Near the central station and 5 min walk distance to shops, restaurants! I will come back again! 100% recommended! Coffe corner on the 3rd floor, nice space to relax.
Great hotel with central location. The staff is very friendly and representative. The room layout (business class) is basic, but neat and has lovely king-size beds. The breakfast is varied and delicious for all tastes. Minibar filled with free drinks. Overall, with a good deal, this hotel is highly recommended!
The Lindner is a business-like hotel, providing good, comfortable, nice-sized rooms. The rooms have everything you'd expect, good wi-fi, comfortable beds with great bedding, loads of storage space, etc. Reasonable sized bathroom. The hotel has a very bright modern feel to it, which includes the bar area on an open-plan ground floor with the reception. The Linder is right next to the station (the new modern entrance) not the picturesque main entrance, so connections are pretty easy to the rest of Antwerp and to get there by train. The price of breakfast seemed pretty high and drove us to the competition right next door. Other than being a little devoid of character, the one complaint I had was over-zealous cleaning staff coming in the room before check-out time on the day we were leaving and ruining a good long Sunday morning sleep far too early. Surely a basic thing to get right.
I stayed at the Lindner Hotel & City Lounge for two nights in September at the end of a week-long trip through Belgium. The hotel is ideally located if you are coming in and out from the Central Train Station. It seems like it is on the edge of central Antwerp but close enough to most things if you are up for a walk. It was about 30-40 minute walk across town to the river and the Port. The location to the train station is the best thing I can say about this hotel. It is perfectly functional, with large rooms, big windows that open, and clean facilities, but is one of the blandest hotels I have every stayed at. From the lobby to the hallways to the room, it is a sea of beige, with no charm or warmth. I was travelling on my own through Belgium and the Netherlands, so perhaps this hotel is more suited to the business traveler. Small details one sees in most hotels were lacking here. For example, instead of individual soap and shampoo bottles, this hotel had large, tacky plastic dispensers screwed to the wall, similar to what you would find in a public rest room. While functional, they seem to suggest the hotel cannot be bothered to replenish the amenities and is looking for short cuts. The sheets on my bed also had some small holes. Check in was fine, but when I returned to my room later in the day, my key card didn’t work and I could not get back into my room. I went back to the lobby and there was some confusion about why my room access had been denied and who I was. The person at the desk read out a credit card number to verify my account, but it was not my credit card number. Then I was told perhaps there was an issue with the corporate account I was using, when in fact I was travelling on my own and not using a corporate account. They finally confirmed that my AMEX card had been declined. This was odd, first because I had successfully checked in using this card, and because nowhere else in Antwerp or in Belgium during the previous week did I have an issue with this card. The staff couldn’t explain why the card was declined at this hotel and nowhere else, nor did they seem too interested in finding out why. Fortunately, I had another credit card which worked fine and I was given access to my room. I understand the hotel has an interest in protecting itself and guests against credit card issues. But I found it very surprising I was locked out of my room, given that the room was already paid for and the only thing charged to my AMEX at check in was the city tax, a very small amount of money, and a standard security deposit in case I used the mini bar or hotel services. As they said when I expressed my annoyance, I could have rang up a bill at the bar and taken off. Given the room was paid for, and I had already checked in, perhaps they could have left a message for me in the room that there was a problem with my card. I would have happily addressed it. I think a hotel with better attention to customer service, and not one catering to business groups, would have handled this differently. I would look at other hotels the next time I visit the wonderful city of Antwerp.
I have been staying here for many years, first for business and latterly for short city breaks. The hotel is well appointed near Central station (it is a 5-10minute walk from the ticket office) there is an underground car park which is easy to find, secure and convenient. You can walk to the cathedral in around 20 minutes and it is a great place to base yourself out of. The zoo is just around the corner and well worth a visit. The hotel offers very comfortable, decent sized rooms at an affordable rate. We always go for a first class room at the front of the hotel as it also gives you a balcony and a great view over the city if you get a room on floor 7 or above. The rooms are comfortable, well fitted out with good wifi and a nespresso machine. My only gripe would be that the bathroom towels are too small and they do not give you bathrobes. The bar downstairs is ok but can take an age to get served. Breakfast is very good with a wide choice of food in the menu. Overall a great hotel which I choose to return to time and time again.
I visited for buisness for one night , good room , nice Lounge-Bar , great breakfast. The location is very handy to the train station and only a 20 minute walk to the centre of town. It’s about 10 minutes walk to a variety of restaurants.
Nice hotel in Antwerp 10 minutes walking of city center 5 minutes walking train station The hotel offers all services in this kind of hotels. To improve, I arrived at 11pm and no option to eat.... nothing, not even a sandwich. This is not normal Room was not very big but enough for business trip Staff polite and available.
I visited for business for four nights and really enjoyed my stay here, after a few unpleasant experiences in other hotels in Europe. The rooms are lovely, relaxing, comfortable and well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very handy to the train station and only a 20 minute walk to the centre of town. It’s about 10 minutes walk to a variety of restaurants.
Large room with a good view on town. Friendly staff, clean room, Breakfast was amazing, Have a nice spa! The hotel is on walking distance to the city center. The choice of this hotel was not mine but I could not choose better.
