This is my second time checking in this hotel and I still like it. In Berchem near where I carry my work, good value in term of pricing and what is has to offer. The place is very clean, and atmosphere hospitable. Service is very professional and friendly, however they do not have a concierge. Room and bathroom are of good size and amenities quite nice. However: 1/ Felt mattress a bit worn out as it tend to suck you in in the middle 2/ Pillow not hard enough and no extra ones in closet 3/ Bar in room with just a bottle of water, not well furnished. Above points need an improvement and that place will rock! Do recommend it
This is what I call an unexpected experience! After my very smooth check-in, I got a great room with a pretty amazing view. From the moment I interacted with Jasmin at the reception, I could feel that all the staff at this property are there for their guests. Throughout my whole stay, so many kind attention and opportunities for me to interact with the hotel. For every question I had, any request, they were there to help me, and always with a very respectful and non-intrusive manner. My expectations for this stay got pretty much exceeded. Oh, and when you stay at this hotel, don't dare missing the restaurant for dinner or for breakfast, that was a highlight of my experience!
Stayed in a superior room which had recently been renovated. Located just off the Antwerp ring. Breakfast had a good selection of meats, breads, and hot food. (Eggs, sausages and bacon etc). Sausages/bacon not quiet what Irish/British people are used to but I'm sure they were fine. Rate was reasonable. The car park is ridiculously expensive (€17 a night) but there is free parking across the road so we parked there all week. There are also some city bike terminals not too far away and there were always taxi's outside. You can also get the bus into the center of Antwerp within a short walk. There is a park very close by that is lovely to walk. There are also some restaurants nearby in walking distance which is great after working for the day. Nice not to have to take the car. (We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on its food). There is a 24h garage with a shop next door as well.
Visited the hotel again during my student tour in Europe. Very friendly staff, accommodating rooms, luxurous wellness. the public transport takes you to the center of Antwerp in less than 15 minutes, great stay!
This is a typical crowne plaza ; Bar and Restaurant is refurbished and modern - menu needs enhancing though and more service team. It is 15 minutes drive to city center and to the central train station. The hotel has good fitness facility and is popular with sporting groups/teams. Has very interesting out door running track and is close to a large park as well as university. Surprisingly does not have much restaurants or bars at walking distance, so one has to do with the hotel facility. Recommended for short stays and when in large groups. Individuals should select hotels closer to city center. Team is good , but rooms need upkeep, I believe some floors are better furnished. Breakfast is average and not good value for money at Euro 21.
Room is very convenient. Iron and ironing board in the room helped me a lot to start a tough meeting day. I got 2 free water bottle. one normal water was on the desk, one sparkling was in the fridge. Kinda awkward placing. And there was no info which one is where. I only knew it, because I tasted both. I am not picky about my water. But I know some friends who do not like sparkling water, or do like only sparkling water. They would appreciate more info about the water. You would notice that I complain a small detail which only means, crowne plaza is a perfect place to stay. The breakfast was fantastic. i never stayed in a hotel before, which serves smoked salmon in their breakfast buffet. I enjoyed it a lot. There is a gas station with mini market nearby which is very convenient. I did not take it, but there was also a direct airport bus near the hotel to brussel airport.
For a short business trip the Crowne Plaza offers what you need. Room spacious enough, Service ok, one of the better gyms and for a reasonable price. Would I choose for holidays? Not really but if I ever returned on business I would consider it again.
Good place for car travellers. Many free parking places on the street. Quite far from city center. Not convenient for evening walk and restaurant visit in old town. Location next to Antwerp ring can make noise hearable in room.
The Crowne is easy to reach. Paid parking is available as you wish. Free public parking is also next to the hotel. I enjoyed a warm welcome at reception. Your IHG status is seen and acknowledged (free drink or extra points). I had room #602. Roomy, clean, silent, at the rear away from the motorway. Good airco, at night cool enough, no noise (it was 32C during my stay). Breakfast is very good, a lot to choose from. Everything you wish and very tasty. Fitness room is spacious, nicely done and well equipped in quantity. Fast check out is available. WiFi access is excellent and no repeated logins which I appreciate very much. Any downsides? Yes on check out day when you take your trolley to breakfast, you are not allowed to bring in your trolley. You need to check in your trolley at reception. Go for breakfast and then pick up your trolley. Not many restaurants around the hotel. Either you walk/cycle to city center or walk for approx 15 min towards nearest restaurant.
Stayed here for a week for a business conference. The conference facilities were excellent & the staff helpful with the conference setup & execution. We had a dinner function in the pool area one evening, which was nicely done (although the music was too loud to make conversation). Breakfast & lunch were in the buffet restaurant or by the meeting rooms. Good choice of food & drinks. Free wifi throughout the hotel, with excellent speed. Our room was pretty average though. The bed was comfortable enough, but the furniture was old & tired, definitely in need of refurbishment. The carpet was outdated & not the cleanest, same also throughout the hotel. Some cleaning staff were really nice, others a bit rude; one insisted we get out of the room, otherwise she would not clean it. There is a bus that stops outside the hotel, which takes you straight into Antwerp city, cost is €3; very convenient.
