We picked this hotel because it was listed with a pool and hot tub. Both had clearly not worked in a VERY long time. Even the outdoor patio was strewn with piles of junk so we couldn’t even sit there. Over $300 per night. Hilton should be ashamed.
TV didn't work and the heater cover needed repair.
Property was very run down. Public areas were dirty
My room was not ready until 2 hours after check-in and then they couldn't even be bothered to let me have a bottle of water. I was told those would be 2 dollars.
Check in was smooth and quick. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was adequate, cleared of snow and rock chipped for secure footing.
Accomodating and covenience.
Freindy and professional staff.
Personnel were not respectful of our requests, room heat is completely inconsistent, no safe in my room, no bible, no menu, no pen or paper, poor poor poor service and absolutely not worth the 300 $ I paid for 1 night.
Food was fantastic. Staff were super. Bathroom ceiling had significant water damage and hall flooring was bad shape and stained. Room and most of areas clean..but very worn out. Kids did not like bear with missing (stolen) claws.
The pool area was not kept up it was dirty with trash and hair and no towels. Pool and hot tub both could be warmer. I like the hotel location and staff. My family, we come here and stay at this hotel when we go to Anchorage. And we will continue to keep going back. This was the only time we encountered a dirty pool area.
We paid over $400/night per room for a hotel with dirty, stained carpets, mediocre amenities, and frankly nothing special about the furniture and decor. Really needs a remodel and/or good cleaning. Also good luck getting anyone to answer at the front desk. There is no room service either. I honestly thought a Hilton hotel would be much better quality or I wouldn’t have paid so much.
The carpet was ripped up and had burns. The ac was falling apart (but working). Every sound felt like it was in my room. Every door closing, every voice, every suitcase rolling was so loud it woke me up. However, they had the softest, fluffiest, most absorbent towels I have ever experienced in a hotel.
Probably not their fault but they claimed to have to record of your booking them.
I liked that there was good options to eat around the property.
Good service, breakfast was good.
The day before I was to stay there I spent over 2 hrs texting with a orbitz agent to move my reservation back 1 day due to a flight cancelation caused by a mechanical issue. The agent said she was talking to the hotel and finally got it done. She sent me an email with my confirmation number and new dates and it only cost a little under $30. I felt revieved that I would still have a place to stay. The next day at the hotel the person at the desk could not find my reservation and said I would have to talk to orbitz to get a room. I was too tired & upset to deal with your agents again so me & my wife just drove the 3 hrs to our home in Kenai, AK. This cost me a couple of hundred dollars and has broken my trust in your company. In the future I will deal direct with the hotel and NOT a 3rd party company. Thomas L Lees, aksanta01@yahoo.com, 9072447682.
The Bear Paw restaurant next door is very good!
Outside landscaping and building looked fine. I picked this property because of the Hilton reputation. BIG MISTAKE. I was told on the phone that checking in early wouldn't be an issue and to call the morning of to confirm the time. I was lead to believe it would be around noon but they would charge me a $50 fee to check in early. It took a half hour for the airport shuttle to get to the airport to pick us up. When we got to the hotel at 11am we asked about early check in and they said they acted like it wouldn't be possible for an early check in and commented that people would be checking out at 1pm. We went to an early lunch and came back about noon and waited in the lobby. Same people at the desk. finally at 2:30 I told the manager I had asked about an early check in a couple hours ago and he found a room. We went to the room and the beds were stripped and not made so we went back and he gave us a different room which was ready. Spending that much time in the lobby, we noticed how dirty the carpets were and a lot of the windowsills had dead flies on them, the stuffed bear had a bunch of toes and fingers broken off which looked gross and the carpets in the hallways to the room had obviously not been vacuumed. Even a couple smashed french fries. We chose that hotel because the picures looked nice and they had a pool and hot tub. They were closed for maintenance but you could see through the window in the door that the pool hadn't been cleaned & had flies floating in it.
