My husband and I only stayed for one night at Hotel Zwanenburg due to me making a mix up on our days in Amsterdam. Its a good thing I found Hotel Zwanenburg! They had a hotel shuttle that was able to pick us up and take us straight to the hotel. The shuttle driver was very nice as well as the gentleman at the front desk. The hotel was located in the cutest little village and it was so scenic. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Hotel Zwanenburg to any of my friends or family. When we return to Amsterdam my husband and I would definitely stay there again.

Great, reasonably priced hotel. We went to Amsterdam for 3 days as part of a multi stop trip and were on a budget. We knew we would rent a car because we wanted to drive up to different cities so didn't mind booking somewhere out of Amsterdam centraal. Room was clean and beautiful tub to soak off the day. Free parking available and nice access to the back for some cool night seating. Staff was also very nice. Only downside was had to pay 8€ per person per day for breakfast; although not sure if this is customary in Amsterdam.

We expected it has a convenient location and it is a short free shuttle trip away from the airport according to the address and map. It turned out to be half an hour away, and the shuttle is available only once every hour. If you miss it, good luck. The facility is ok, but the marijuana smell is everywhere.

The hotel was outside of Amsterdam but a perfect distance to get out of the hustle and bustle. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. I would absolutely stay again!!

Great hotel located at the airport area. Services and rooms were just fine for a short stay

Shuttle pick-up was very nice, hotel staff was also nice though attentive to many issues. The room was small yet very clean, but with no two beds pushed together. Overall our stay was pleasant.

Hotel is a distance from the airport but with the complimentary shuttle it isn't a problem. Room was clean and comfortable with fast, free wireless internet.

A good place to spend the night before leaving Amsterdam. Close to the airport and with free shuttle bus. Room was small but clean and worked well for us.

This hotel is in an older building in a very quiet, residential neighborhood. There isn't much around, and since I was only there one night when I wasn't able to fly out on standby and didn't take advantage of the public transit, I can't say how easy it would be to get into the city. It doesn't look far on the map, however. The staff were extremely nice, and transportation to and from Schipol was provided at no extra cost, making it a great value. I think cab rides to/from the airport would have cost what I paid for the room. My room was in a newer part of the hotel and included a private bathroom and shower, and was not overly spacious, but not bad, either. If you just need a place to shower and sleep, this certainly fits the bill.

This hotel is indeed in a small town, but beware of outdoor rock concerts nearby. With ear plugs, pillows, and closed windows, it feels like the concert is in your room. And the hotel staff refused to move us into a quieter room. The concert played until 2am. We were so disappointed in the service staff's willingness to help. Having an airport shuttle bus was a draw for us, but beware if you have an early morning flight as the shuttle bus starts at 6:30am. Our taxi was almost the price of the hotel night! I'd recommend paying the extra $5 or $10 for another airport hotel.

The shuttle was prompt once you were able to contact the hotel. I had no cell phone so had to use the pay phones in the airport so be sure to have change, buy a phonecard, or better yet use your cell phone to call the hotel. Room was spotless, quiet, in a nice small town, and the front desk efficiently checked you in and gave you directions to several buses into Amsterdam. Couldn't ask for more for a brief but pleasant stopover near the airport

Nice clean hotel - comfortable. Earlier posts had said that there was only one eating place nearby... not the case anymore. Very nice Chinese Restaurant a block away. Another early post had said that you could not get an early shuttle to the airport... not the case anymore. They provided a prompt shuttle at 5:30am.

Very conveniently location for a traveler who needs to sleep overnight near Schiphol to catch up a flight the next morning. The hotel is simple and clean, similar to what you would routinely encounter in the US in e.g. Super 8 or Days Inn. Shuttle service to/from Schiphol is quick (ca 15 min) and on time. Good deal overall!

We booked Hotel Zwanenburg because they offered shuttle service from Schipol Airport and we were only staying one night with little time to sightsee. The hotel is comfortable and there is a restaurant onsite although it is closed on Sat. night. The owner gave us walking directions to the downtown area 5 minutes away where there were several restaurants. This is a great place if you need a shuttle and aren't planning a lot of time in Amsterdam as it is not near the city. The cost was very reasonable also.

Shuttle service worked great....it was located far from any type of restaurants or businesses...it would have been nice to have been closer to restaurants or cafes. The breakfast buffet was fair...although not sure it was worth the 8 Euros

The staff were not friendly at all. The worst part was that I booked the hotel for its airport shuttle but turns out there is no shuttle early in the morning. So they booked me a taxi that ended up costing 41 Euro! almost the cost of the room.

My parents stayed in this hotel on their way back to the States from a European cruise. It was the perfect place to recuperate from a very busy schedule of tours and a different port every day.

The hotel was suitable for someone just looking for a place to sleep and spend one night. Easy access to the bus and train systems made it easy to get around.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent shuttle service to and from airport. Not always available, but very accommodating. Free wireless internet. Loved the small restaurant. Great food. Very Good breakfast. Not overly exaggerated, but had the essentials. It is a small hotel and the rooms are not very large or the TV. But it is a great place to stay.

My biggest gripe with Orbitz is that they don't let me book a hotel at an intermediate destination as part of my travel package when my trip includes an overnight layover at an airport. This almost always happens on my trans-Atlantic return flights. Even so, I have found that it is well worth the extra effort to separately search for and book a hotel for the overnight stay. Instead of having to arrange last-minute accommodations at an expensive, noisy airport hotel, I have been able to find pleasant places to stay at reasonable rates and in beautiful locations - all offering free shuttles from and to the airport. The Zwanenburg Hotel is just such a place, located about 20 minutes away from the Schiphol Airport near Amsterdam. My only frustrating moment during my stay was the initial contact. At the airport, I had a bit of trouble with my cell phone, and so I called them using a pay phone to let them know I had arrived. They looked up my reservation and immediately dispatched a van to collect me. After a pleasant drive among the checkerboard farm fields, we arrived at the hotel, located in a very charming Dutch village. I travel light, so it didn't matter that my room was two flights up, but I was a bit puzzled until I realized that what I call the "third floor" is known as the "second floor" in Europe. After dropping off my luggage in my room, there was still enough daylight for me to take a very pleasant walk around the block, admiring the tiny, beautiful gardens and neat brick houses. Then I had a very delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant before turning in. My room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and a complete, European-style breakfast was available the next morning, though it wasn't included in the original booking price. The previous evening, my hosts had worked out when I had to be back at the airport in order to make my flight, so I arrived in plenty of time. I suppose, if I were younger, I might have preferred to live it up in the Amsterdam red-light district during my overnight stay. However, a restful night, and a chance to absorb a bit of local color are far more my speed these days. If you are like me, and have an overnight layover at Schiphol, I highly recommend the Zwanenburg Hotel as your answer.
