The staff was great very helpful but the room was not a suite as i was told when we booked the mattress was unsatisfactory as when you rolled to the center hard to sleep on. Their definition of a suite is a room with a hot tub only one chair and a lumpy sofa facing away for the tv and the bed for one hundred and forty five dollars I would have been better of at Days in I understand football weekends but this is just priced out of line, I book for a weeding months before and could have been told what was going on. I like Baymonts but not this one.
We won't be staying in Ames, IA anymore. It was worth the 11 mile drive to Boone, IA to finally stay in a comfortable, clean hotel. We have traveled to Iowa State for the past six years enjoying activities on campus with our daughters. However, it's always been a hit or miss as far as hotels. We ended up in Boon, IA this last trip and it was absolutely, hands down, the best trip thus far. We will not be staying anywhere else in the future.
The Continental Breakfast didn't have scrambled eggs and bacon like most motels. Otherwise, it was fine except the price ($155) was too high.
Shower water was not hot, lukewarm at best, no elevator so if you have a problem with stairs ask for 1st floor room. Lady at the counter was very nice, room was clean. I would stay there again.
Was a nice stay. We had no problems with the Room except the bathroom floor was not very clean.
HORRIBLE CHECK IN EXPERIENCE, but after that everything went as expected. Rooms were normal and clean and quite sound proof but front desk service needs some attention. We tried to check in early but could not. Which is fine, but thank goodness we attempted and had our names down to get rooms because at 30 minutes past check-in the lines filled the lobby and no rooms were available. Definitely needed more employees to help with housekeeping and front desk services.
Request early check in and was denied it when we got there. Had to wait til after our event at 10:30 at night to check in. Had to change and get ready in a small hot bathroom.
My family stayed at this hotel for two nights we rented 4 rooms total. Each one of my family members checked in at different times and each one of us commented on how rude the front desk staff acted. When I checked in I asked her if she could look up my rewards info since I didn't have my card. She scowled at me and said if you don't know your numbers how am I suppose to. I asked if there was a way to look it up by phone or anything she said no and that was that. The second night we were there we asked if we could possibly use the breakfast room for our family to all gather in one place and spend time with my brother before he deployed overseas. We were told we could not use the room but they would be willing to rent us the meeting room. We already spent well over 1,000 dollars for our rooms. The breakfast was terrible aside from the yogurt.
First time at a Baymont. Pretty much as expected. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. Weak on breakfast selection and quality.
The fresh baked cookies in the afternoon were great. Also breakfast with waffles was awesome. Nice and clean and quiet rooms. The pool was refreshing.
