This is now a OYO Hotel, and they are in the process of upgrading a former Red Roof Hotel. The person checking me in was friendly and helpful. My room had been refurbished, and furniture, tv etc looked new. There is a coffee maker in the room as well as in the lobby. The room has good air conditioning, a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board- all in great working order. There is still work to be done outside. The pool looked like it had a new handicapped lift, but was still closed. A person was outside picking up trash and keeping the parking lot looking nice. Rates were reasonable, and the room clean.
I promise, it’s the last time I book a reservation in Oyo Hotel. We booked 2nights and the second day when we arrived in the room for the second night, someone has pee in our toilets, there was a bad smell of course and the pee was still in the toilets. Floor, bath and wall were dirty. Beds are opened. If you want to book in this hotel : change your plans.
Couldn’t get electronic keys to work, so they had to let us in and told us to let them know if we needed them to do it again. Room was very hot when we got there and took several hours to cool off. Ice machine was out of order. Coffee machine was out of order. Room was not clean. Only positive is that it was quiet.
Typical motel style rooms, free parking and free WiFi. Great for an overnight’s sleep after driving for long hours in the middle of a road trip. Friendly and polite staff. If you are in Amarillo, don’t miss the Cadillac Ranch!
This new branded motel, with better prices and new renovations is actually very nice. I still here at times but i felt very at home this time around. Will def recommend to my friends and family who are passing through.
Had to switch rooms four times, first room the air didn't work. The second room smelt terrible, musty. Third room smelt better, but the phone was busted and coffee maker was missing necessary parts and again, the air wasn't working. I asked for a refund, but the receptionist said no because I had booked through Expedia. So she put me in the fourth room, smelt clean, cleaning was adequate (mouse poop under AC) and the metal door sweep was bent out and security chain lock was pulled out. It was the best room they had it seemed. Slept terribly due to traffic and people going in and out of their cars with the "secure" honk. Did I mention there was a pubic hair in my bed (not mine) and the towels appeared to have minor blood stains? Regardless, I learned my lesson and will pay the $20 more to sleep well elsewhere. Won't ever go to a red roof again.
I could see in theory where this would be a nice, cheap place to stay if the fridge was working, coffee pot wasn’t missing, FAUCET wasn’t missing (you read that right, the sink had no faucet) and the hairdryer wasn’t gone.
My family and I are on the road often so we were glad to have stopped in Amarillo at this friendly Red Roof. The man at the front desk was very nice and the rooms were ideal for me and my family. Will visit again.
To carry the Red Roof Inn name one automatically thinks: Suppose to be pet friendly with no extra charge -it’s not- and there is a fee. Suppose to have breakfast- it doesn’t - it didn’t even have coffee. I stayed at the Red roof inn on the west side on the way and this one on the way back. This was by far the worst. They charged a 4.00 plus tax fee for having an extra dog (had two small dogs) and the lady couldn’t figure out where she was suppose to put this erroneous charge. She said her boss/owner said to charge this amount. The front desk also said they do not serve ANY type of breakfast....just coffee. And yet when i went to leave this morning there wasn’t even that. I ONLY stay at Red Roof Inns when traveling with dogs. and have never had an issue until now. It’s like he’s using the RRI name but working by his own rules. Unacceptable As for the rest of the place... the construction made it near impossible to get to and the parking lot is a mess. And the room is just so so. Had to change my room after three keys didn’t work. The. Was told they have issues with a lot of their locks. Do not recommend. Best bet is to stay at the Red Roof Inn West. They at least had breakfast coffee and no pet fee.
The gentleman at check in was polite and helpful. Our room was basic but had everything we needed. The room was reasonably clean and quite comfortable. There is no breakfast included which was unfortunate.
