Sheraton Montazah Hotel5.0 out of 5.0

The hotel gives good views over the Mediterranean and the Montazah Castle surrounds. But the rooms are quite small, and crowded. The internet is slow and erratic. The bathroom was dated and dilapidated; several fittings, such as sink plugs, did not work. The shower is in the bath. Breakfast bar was fairly good, but coffee very poor quality.
This hotel has a great location - it is across the road from Mediterranean Sea and overlooking Montazah palace. We were lucky to be on the 12th floor overlooking the Palace . We were originally on the 4th floor with a twin room but went to reception to complain as we had requested a King room on a higher level. We were here for 2 nights. I swam in the pool on the first day and had the whole pool to myself. it was nice and large but a little cool. The next day Ii swam in the Mediterranean Sea.I was officially escorted across the road by one of the staff from the hotel( due to the bad traffic) As soon as I selected a banana lounge to ly down on one of the staff offered me 2 towels and showed me the showers and change rooms. I was even given a food and drinks menu. I went for a lovely swim and when I got out one of the staff calme with a towel for me and guided me to the showers. They waited for me to shower and promptly collected my towel. I asked for some photos and they happily obliged. The service here at the beach was amazing. The variety of food at breakfast was a little limited for my Australian taste buds. The housekeeping a little hit and miss with forgetting to replace towels, shampoo etc. Apart from this this is a nice little hotel
It was a quick trip but it changed my mood. Great, clean and comfy room with a nice view. Dinner wasn’t as expected. We ordered a lasagna (which wasn’t good), beef medallion (which wasn’t beef medallion at all) and beef escallop (best escallop ever)and spaghetti red sauce (mediocre). Breakfast was nice as usual. Their hospitality was remarkable.
The location with lovely sea views and the royal gardens, and the great breakfast buffet are the best points. The rooms are on the old side but clean and functional. It’s good for a day or two stopover with most of the day spent outdoors touring the Alexandria sites! Stayed for 2 nights with my family (2 kids, 2 adults).
The Sheraton is located at the end of the corniche. It provides parking space (chargeable) outside. The rooms have a nice view on the sea but the equipment and furniture would need a refresh. Breakfast is ok without any extravagance given the price of 9$.
The rooms are very big and spacious. the room mood and the decor is very soothing. The complimentary mini bar as one of the attractions ( no Alcohol ). The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping manager is quite energetic and has made sure that our stay was very comfortable. The breakfast is quite sumptuous and had a lot of spread. the coffee is simply flavorsome. The bathroom is quite congested and they could have redesigned to give a more comfortable experience. Rest everything was fine and I enjoyed my stay.
The main advantage of this hotel is the view; as it overlooks the sea and Montazah. But the rooms are old fashioned, and toilet is extremely small. While you are making reservation, they will tell you that all rooms are sea view, but actually they are partial sea view, and only very few rooms are sea view. The main restaurant is ok _I tried breakfast only_ it is small but acceptable.
One of the good hotels in Alexandria, we loved the view, and staff were very friendly. The wifi wasn't good though, the hotel's reception and dining area are kind of old fashioned. Yet we loved our room, service, and the view.
Very low quality of room. The rooms are antiquated, very tired and dismal. Internet connection is absolutely woeful, the staff are not very helpful when asking for assistance. If you need something urgently, it will not happen. I asked for a small jug of milk for tea, it took 4 hours to bring it. The electrical sockets do not work in the rooms, some of the sockets are hanging from the wall, the wardrobe doors do not go together. This really is a poor place to stay and it certainly is not Sheraton standards.
Beyond my expectation, it was very pleasant three nights.. The room is clean and I was lucky I got a sea and Muntazah view.. you need to book early if you intend to stay over the weekend. Staff is super welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Mrs Rasha who look after my room. Breakfast is standard with oriental dishes. I didn’t have chance to see the other facilities in the hotel. One small comment; if you want hot shower you need to wait a bit before your tap water gets warm. Go to Muntazah and enjoy it to max it’s the bless of the location in addition to other site seeings.
