Needs a little updating. Rooms were not terrible. Counter tops where sticky from cleaning supplies. Beds were comfortable. Restaurant attached was really good. Liked the live music on the weekends. Did not hear it from the room which was good.
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times mainly because it's right on the highway on the way to Fargo from Minneapolis. The good: Location plus it has a restaurant/bar located off the lobby, which itself is good but a bit pricey. If you stay here, do not get a room on the highway side. There is a lot of highway noise. The rooms need a renewal. Mattresses and pillows are very soft and need to be replaced immediately. My guess is this is a franchise owner at this location. TVs don't look real new either.
Got the chance to stay in this hotel overnight courtesy of my cousin. It’s centrally located in city of Alexandria Minnesota. The hotel has very spacious well kept room. There is indoor pool and activity place which suits the cold climate in MN. The check-in and check out is a breeze. Our twin room had big beds. Spacious enough to move around. I love the complimentary coffee it’s not instant but Keurig.
Location is great as is the restaurant staff and hotel cleaning service. Front staff, not so much. Give the major impression they are doing you the favor. Not sure what there attitude is stemming from. Shame though. The place is certainly in need of a major deodorizing. It smells as if the pool over flowed and was left to air dry. That aside the value was okay. Quite sleeping and my particular mattress was comfy. FOR NOW! I say that because I've been told I must change rooms. I am a IHG Spire member due to being in hotels all over the country an average of 250 nights a year. I know the front staff knows of my preferred status as well know they do not care. 300+ rooms and I have to move! REALLY??? AM I the only room of 300+ that has double beds? Something this single traveler didn't even want in the first place. Same is...I'll most likely be stuck here another 4 weeks. Stay tuned as an update WILL FOLLOW!
We stayed two nights as wedding guests. The room was very humid despite running the air conditioner. The room was quiet and clean. It was nice to have a fridge in the room. The hotel staff were not friendly with the exception of the bartender. She was super sweet. The food at the bar area and from the reception at the wedding (held at the barn) was not great. Food at bar was over cooked and burnt. The reception food lacked flavor and was visually unappealing. I did feel that the room was overpriced. I will continue to stay at a different chain of hotels where my cost is lower and I receive more amenities.
Old style so if you go with those expectations you will be fine. Rooms are clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Our upgraded room was quite small. Bathroom especially small. Overnight was just fine, extended stay would be difficult. Restaurant on site that we love for dinner. Don't expect breakfast or drink coupons to be included.
This property is getting a little tired. It was clean and quiet enough, but the room smelled like cleaning supplies. The air conditioning was loud and the window didn't open. They have a decently equipped exercise facility.
We had a nice stay at this Holiday Inn while visiting family in the area. We stayed at the Hampton Inn the night before, but had to move hotels due to the very uncomfortable beds. So, we were happy to find an available room at the Holiday Inn. Fortunately, the beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet. We requested a room away from the pool area. The wifi worked well, too. Breakfast was not included, but we did enjoy a reasonably-priced breakfast in the restaurant. Good food and great service. The server said we were supposed to have received a "Kids Eat Free" certificate at check-in, but we did not. She still gave us our younger son's meal for free. The one drawback was the unpleasant smell in the hallway by our room. It drifted into the room a bit. But overall, nice hotel. We did not use the pool or fitness area.
Clean, nice rooms. Nice restaurant, great staff! Will stay here again. Good parking and it was pretty quiet for being packed. The pool was a huge hit, great area to visit while the kids play. Pool tables, ping pong, ball courts and a kiddy pool. Nice place!
Was placed in a older part of the motel i am guessing the rooms they allow pets in....smelled like pets and heard dogs in nearby rooms . Interstate right outside our window. Not a pleasant stay. Long walk in dark hallways to the pool. The previous stays here were in the pool area and were not as bad. For the rate I think they could offer some kind of a free breakfast. Most motels do. There was an option to order in but I wanted to spend as little time as possible in the smell. Not likely to return.
