I don’t even know where to start praising this rental! The house was exceptional, the views were exceptional, the owner communication was a near immediate response time. This house may be off grid but you’d be hard pressed to realize it as it has all the amenities a typical house has. For people not familiar with the Northern New Mexico roads, you WILL encounter dirt roads at some point so low profile/sporty cars wouldn’t be recommended but our VW Atlas had no issues. I would eagerly stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Stay away unless you want refuge from comfort & sanity. Booked 3-wk stay & could only stay there 2.It did have seclusion & end-of-road privacy, after passing piles of junk & decrepit/abandoned trailers. Upon arriving, found dead insects/cobwebs in almost every corner, floor register, & shower, plus given wrong wifi PW. No big deal, the real fun started 36 hrs later. Hours after turning on AC for refuge from 100 degree outdoors, AC readout indicated 96 degrees inside w/very poor air quality/high CO2 levels! Turns out AC unit was covered & recirculating hot air! Ok, got that fixed & had decent 48 hrs until solar power went out & support generator didn’t kick in. As it was Sunday, host booked hotel 20 mi away (giving me wrong address to get there). 2 days later I returned to property & did enjoy a few uneventful days (altho anytime AC on, so were CO2 warnings indicating open window ventilation needed. Full disclosure: CO2 plugin monitors showed no problem) until power went out AGAIN late evening of day 6 back at property (again, no backup genny). Power mysteriously restored next a.m, only to fail AGAIN that night!3 strikes I’m gone & let host know. She agreed to refund, but ended up refunding me only 3/4 of the price of my remaining stay, double-charging me for cleaning & pet fees paid separately on my reservation confirmation. Host was responsive & pleasant during property issues but turned out to be greedy & added final insult to a disastrous experience. Be warned.
