I had my wedding at the holiday inn on 3/2/18, I cannot speak highly enough of how my whole day was handled. Karin helped to organise the whole day and was always available to answer any of my questions in the run up, I consistently dealt with Karin and she was on hand on the day as well. Our master of ceremonies Alan was fantastic the night before and took all the stress away as he took charge of everything that needed doing. Throughout the day all the staff were lovely and helpful. This is a beautiful venue to hold your big day. At night the DJ Calum was brilliant and we all had a ball!
After a meal out the night before we only wanted a snack before we caught our flight at Aberdeen airport. Four o'clock on a Sunday afternoon and we hadn't been there long before all available tables appear to have been taken. We only had paninis and a drink so not stretching anybody. But the service was good as was the food so there was nothing to fault. They are doing what they do very well. I did confuse the waitress by asking if they had any bitter when apparently I should have asked for ale, an age thing I suspect, oh well.
Planned my 60th around 6 months in advance. Having been to Holiday in for Xmas nights it was always on my list of venues due to the decoration of the room. I spoke events manager Elaine who right from word go was very helpful and convinced me I had chosen correct venue. My Party Theme was Gatsby and Elaine had the room decorated to perfection. She could not of done more and the cost was very reasonable. On the night with the room decorated and Disco there and also LaLa lights had been ,the room was superb could not of been better. Elaine was not on duty that night but we were looked after by Duty Manager Neil who again could not of been more helpful. Nothing we asked for was to much trouble. The rooms are very nice and clean and quite modern. Beds were really comfortable though didn’t get much sleep due to Party stretching into wee hours. This is a Excellent hotel and I would recommend staying here for any occasion. Be it a visit to Aberdeen or a tribute night then a good night is guaranteed. Big thanks again to Elaine and Neil who helped make my 60th a night I will never forget . Billy Smith Aberdeen
We are just back home after two great days spent at this hotel , The service was the best we have experienced in a hotel in a long time. The food was very good and a great choice in the menue, the staff through out the hotel was very good and all very pleasant . the room was very clean and the shower great, we where there for a 40th birthday party . the only small down thing was the blow air heating in the room, apart from that we would defanitly use this hotel again, Thank you to all the staff.
We had a fabulous evening. Food was excellent and staff brilliant with the right measure of service throughout the night. We hope to book the club again next year. Our events manager arranged menus and kept in touch with me regarding number of guests etc. for the meal. All together a great night was had by all. Regards Audrey Hampton (Treasurer).
Warm welcome at reception, made to feel special after long, tiring drive, room spotless, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast runs like clockwork, well managed and staff busy helping you enjoy a high quality experience, with excellent, but discrete service. Left with high feelgood factor. Unsurprisingly, they have a loyal following and seem to a cut above the competition. Very well done Aberdeen West.
We were a party of 7 and arrived on the evening of the 3rd December 2017 just before half past 6. The restaurant had 3 other tables in and they were well on their way through their meals. Our party ordered our food the starters came within reasonable time however it took 40 minutes after this for our mains to arrive, we made a complaint to the duty manager about the length of time we had to wait, and the fact that all the restaurant staff were huddled behind the bar chatting and not paying attention to what was going on,we were offered our deserts for free, we ordered our deserts after another 30 minutes wait we ended up having to complain again as the deserts were taking so long. It was such a disappointing experience for our group, we left after 2 and a half hours, for the price of the food at the restaurant we certainly expected a higher standard of service than that which we received. It was such a shame as the food was very good when it eventually came it just wasn’t worth the wait.
Contacted the hotel in advance to ask to book a table for 9 people. Advised that they didn't take advance bookings. Turned up and table set out for us. Food was delicious but had to wait 45 minutes for meal. Very disappointed at the service
Thankful for this place living in westhill. The food is always very good and very fairly priced. One of the best in aberdeen for sure! Staff are helpful and always show latest games etc seems to be very good for birthday occasions and weddings
Stayed here one night. Check in was good, room was good, clean and modern. There was some marks on the wall at the side of the bed possibly from a drink that had not be cleaned off but other than that it was ok. Desk in the room was absolutely useless to work on as the chair supplied is too short for the desk - someone clearly did not think this out. Headed into the restaurant in the hotel as receptionist said carvery was running until 18:30hrs....what a disappointment. It was on par with school dinners, packet gravy, thin transparent and a pretty poor selection of veg that was possibly frozen from a packet - peas, carrots and some cauliflower in cheese sauce. No fresh veg locally sourced, I would guess even the Yorkshire puddings were frozen from a packet. Having helped myself to the self serve carvery (Turkey was good) I sat down with my food. I am a slow eater and I was also reading a book on my ipad. Despite numerous staff buzzing around in the restaurant, which was not full, no one took my drinks order. In the end I just asked for the check. Unfortunately for the Italians the place is called Luigi's. Not sure where Luigi is but he clearly is not Italian!
