Good holiday inn can improve with some basic paint outside and upgrading the old sofa and the carpet, the bed is comfortable good bathrooms nice restaurant and service. As I mentioned some basic updates to be at the level of the new hotels but is a good place to stay
Our street group went out for a meal on Friday night at the restaurant in the Westhill Inn. Everyone enjoyed their meal and food which was really good. A few had the fish and chips which was pleasant Service was good as well.
We decided to visit our local hotel for a family dinner and was extremely disappointed. The food was not acceptable and the final bill was overpriced for the standard of food. Substandard overpriced pub grub is being kind. Sorry, will not be returning. Shame cause it’s on our doorstep
We had the Sunday carvery at 12.30 the food was very cold, might have been better to have had a salad food should be checked regularly for the temperature, total waste of money we should have complained, but we won't be coming back.unless food is hot its a waste of money especially for 4 people its not cheap.
My Stay at the Holiday Inn Westhill was very pleasant reception staff were very attentive and check in was quick. Room was spacious and clean full facilities ie tea/coffee towels. Bed was comfortable. Food was good and staff were pleasant and helpful.
I am a local resident who hasn’t been in the hotel for a while. I can’t say anything else other than the place is just brilliant. We dined in the Glentannar Lounge which was extremely busy showing how popular this hotel is. We had 2 steaks and 2 fajitas and both were cooked to perfection. The fajitas came to the table sizzling and smoking which was great. The service was very quick and friendly with a great atmosphere. I will certainly be back and recommend this place anyone.
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights whilst on a training course. Check-in was quick with pleasant staff. My hotel room had a double bed with bathroom including WC and shower. The room was not very spacious but it did have a huge LED TV and plenty of power points. There was also plenty of room to store clothing. The chair for the desk was too low and it was a struggle to use my laptop because if this. I also found the lighting in the room very poor and with every light on it was still to dark t read my newspaper. Breakfeast was good it but did not warrant the cost of £13.95. The restaurant was Italian themed on an Evening by the name of Lugi The hotel had a bar and lounge and like the bedrooms the lighting was dismal as was the decor. In general I found the entire property to look rather tired and in need of a fresh revamp. I would consider staying again here but would probably book elsewhere if I was in Westhill again.
Visited with friends. On arrival we were seated opposite the booths but it took at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken - by the manager, who had come over to ask if we were being attended to when clearly we weren't. By this point we could see people who had arrived after us and been seated in the booths, being served before we were which was irritating to say the least. We were advised that they were rushed off their feet that night (this was only at 5.30pm). Food was OK - but the whole experience was marred by poor service. Plus the table behind us was a real concern as the language being used was foul, and young children were nearby. This was pointed out to management when we settled our bill but it was pretty much dismissed because the table concerned was part of a funeral party. Won't be going back in a hurry. All in all, a really rather unpleasant experience which was supposed to be a relaxing supper out.
As a family of 5, we visited the lounge bar for an evening meal. From start to finish, the service was extremely poor. A drinks order was taken, after 20 minutes of waiting for our food order to be taken, I went to the bar to ask for some service........I might add, the bar was not busy, as it was 5.30pm. The starters arrived, with certain items of cutlery missing......soup with no soup spoons.......another visit to the bar to request spoons. With no sign of main courses after another 20mins, another visit to the bar to ask for service. 2 main courses arrived 5 mins after the first 3. A sizzling fajita plate was ordered, it was at best look warm.......again a lack of cutlery. By this time we had given up hope, and asked for the bill. There appeared to be a lack of attention / basic customer service, no one in charge. Ample staff were on duty, but were gathered around the bar, more intent on chatting and totally oblivious to what was happening around them. As a local, we have visited the Holiday Inn on many occasions, certainly will not hurry back.
Weekend stay whilst back up in Aberdeen. Very friendly staff and good attentive service when needed. Room was clean comfy and quiet, what more can you ask for. Good price as well so will probably use this place again.
