Novotel Aachen City

This Novotel is definitely one of the better hotels in Aachen and accessing parking is fairly straightforward. The first impression was quite good, as the lobby was spacious with a small children's playing area, a computer with printer available, and a decent lobby seating area. The staffs are polite but a bit on the cold side. Fortunately the restaurant and bar staffs are friendlier during our visit. The room itself was typical Novotel's new design with the really strange decision to separate out the toilet in a separate room from the sink, bathtub and shower. It is rather unsanitary to walk all the way from the toilet to the bathroom to wash your hands. Whoever designs it should not be allowed to design hotel rooms. Novotel please change it ASAP! The bed is okay comfortable. The room has all the things you need but not exactly outstanding though. Finally the free premium WIFI was highly unstable and it would drop connections once awhile. The internet was particularly slow in the evening hours when everyone was using it after dinner. Honestly the hotel is nothing special and is just a typical Novotel experience. Novotel really needs to push itself to go further in room design, amenities and services, if it wants to catch up with other major brands.

We stayed with 11 person in the hotel and had to change the reservation. The staff at the reception helped in a way, which was much more friendly and helpful than I'm used to. The staff at the bar and in the restaurant is very nice, humorous and friendly, so we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was as expected. For families they offer family rooms. Children till 16 years don't pay, if they sleep in the same room as their parents and don`t pay for breakfast, if the parents order breakfast

Loved the location of this hotel, allowed me to explore the area without any transportation. I was very jet lagged and would barely make it to breakfast at every morning (breakfast closes at 10 am). I was touched by the kindness and friendliness of the staff who would let me take my time drinking coffee and having their delicious bread while they set up the next meal. The breakfast was excellent with mostly vegetarian options and provided me a much needed jump start to get going. I plan to visit again soon and would not stay anywhere else. The bus station is just down the street and we were able to get to Maastricht. WE even walked to the train station to visit Cologne and Frankfurt Their check in time is normally 2 or 3pm, We arrived at 11am, but they made an effort to get us a room by 1pm. We were able to leave our suitcases and get a bite to eat.

We are coming already some time to Aachen. This is the first time we took the Novotel Aachen City and it was a very nice experience for us. The reception was professional and welcoming and as to our surprise the already upgrade our room and the late check-out was longer then we expected. The bar tender was also very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is close to the city centre, yet it was nice and quiet during the night. We were close to a big shopping centre were you have some nice restaurants, but also close the other restaurants in the city centre. Overall a very nice stay.

We choose this hotel because of the location and they have parking in the cellar, which is very convenient. It took quite long time to check in and much longer to get a coffee at the bar. We were waiting for friends and decided to have a cup of coffee at the bar. There was no waiter at the bar and after a while I went to the front desk to ask them about the waiter... he will be there shortly was the reply and after 5 min or so, someone came and we order cappuccino and got cappuccino that tasted like warm milk because it was made out of machine, terrible choice for hotels to have cheap machine make expensive coffee.

We were a party of 7 who drove from the UK for a few night's stay in this fabulous city. The hotel is modern, clean and professional with extremely friendly staff. Special thanks must go to the reception staff who were very helpful in assisting us locating a parking space for our minibus and were welcoming to a very tired group of people aged from 9 to 74! They were really patient with us in making sure we had the right rooms so everyone was happy. Rooms were compact and modern but very pleasant. The sound proofing is fabulous - we made the mistake of opening the window to let some air in but the road noise was really bad. Keep the windows closed! The distance to both the old town centre and the spa at Carolus Thermen is less than ten minutes so this hotel couldn't be better placed.

I can definitely recommend Novotel Aachen City, it’s a beautiful hotel, big room, nice and clean, full bathroom with everything you need, very comfortable bed, nice a quiet, really nice and the staff is friendly and helpful and good with kids, we really had a pleasurable stay and will definitely be back.

Top class hotel nice big room, bath and shower, separate toilet cosy sitting corner full mini-bar and a safe. People at the reception and in the bar aswel as the people at the breakfast were very friendly. A lift from the lobby to the parking garage. This hotel has everything someone could wish for, next time we go to Aachen it wil be in this hotel for sure.

We had a warm welcome, with a glas of gluh wine. The room was very clean, with a very good bed. The bathroom was rather small but OK. And not to forget the very good breakfast with a wide range of products (cold and warm).

I have stayed at the hotel about 6 times now, so the staff are very welcoming when I arrive. They do their best to fulfill any special wishes (such as a kettle in the room instead of a coffee machine) and are always ready to help with any questions. The hotel is comfortable, well located and clean. The only very slight niggle on this last trip was the brunch on Sunday when due to the influx of a couple of coach tours, the hotel was very full and the restaurant staff were pushed to the limit to cope. I would definitely recommend this hotel and have already booked my next two visits.
