Very clean hotel but noisy if you are locate at the front of the building. The staff is very nice and polite. I enjoy the breakfast area but do not go for the breakfast buffet. I order a small breakfast at 7.50 euro for coffee, orange juice, bread, ham or salmon and croissant (the buffet is 20 euros and find it a bit expensive). The food is good at the hotel restaurant but suggest that you go out as many restaurants with better ambiance are in Aachen.
The location of the hotel is at 10 minutes from the center of the town. The Hotel is nearby bus station 3A - 3B can be taken from the railway station Aachen Hbf, or a 17 minutes walk. Big double-bed rooms, with big bathroom that includes shower and tub, minibar and space for work in case of business. Provides good free internet service.
This hotel is nice, clean and modern. Whilst it's only a 15 minute walk to the old town, it is located in an area where there were many dubious characters lurking around (I state this as a seasoned traveller in places such as Sth America). Also, we had a bad experience at check in. I hasten too add here that this was not the fault of the reception staff but a ludicrous policy that exists throughout many hotels. I had paid extra for an exec room as we are a family of five (I have a daughter who is 8 and twin boys aged 6). The policy does not allow 5 people to stay in one room and as a result, the hotel would not let us stay together and I was therefore left having to pay for another room (breakfast not included as it was in the exec room). Whilst this policy seems appropriate to prevent 5 adults sharing, it seems that sticking to this with such a young family is crazy. I was told that it was a fire risk, but in the event of a fire, I would have left the other room to then get to my family and this would be more dangerous. This was the last hotel we stayed at on our tour of Germany. Whilst other hotels saw that we had three kids they were appropriately more relaxed and understanding. Only Novotel stuck to the letter of the law and this caused my family a lot of angst and additional expense. Just seems enforcing this policy is very much over the top and no common sense used! I pretty much expect any management response will be that fire regs have to be adhered to; this episode has however left me quite annoyed, I have to say. This policy surely deserves more consideration?
The reception are very helpful, friendly and polite. The shopping street is just round the corner of the hotel. Very accessible to most of the places of interests. The breakfast spread is good and they have a special play room for small kids. Fitness facilities and steam room is free. Room is spacious and clean.
Nice hotel with comfortable room. Everything is quite new. Personnel are nice. It has even a nice 5th floor with gym sauna and relax room. Breakfast is good with a good amount of choices. The parking downstair is expensive.
Staff was impressing me during the stay. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are small (i have booked already a bigger one as upgrade) but very clean. The rest is pretty basic. All in all not a bad place to stay.
My preferred hotel when staying in Aachen, easy access to the city, to the parking basement and lastly they have a very nice staff here. They also have a very good breakfast buffet. I will be back in a few weeks.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. We had really nice meals in the restaurant and the kids also have enough choices. You have an parkinglot underneath the hotel that can fit cars up to 2meters. The historic center is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and shoppingstreets only 5. The room was clean and comfy. Nice bathroom with seperate shower and bath. Enough space for our family. I recommend this hotel.
it wasn't the first time for me in Novotel and every time confirm that it's one of accor group hotels. the hotel is in a very good place with a parking. the team there are very nice people and are very helpful. the rooms are very clean, teddy, modern and contain all what you need for both entertainment and work. i don't like its breakfast instead it has a lot of choices. near the hotel, there are a lot of restaurants, shops and all what you need. i think it's the best place to stay in Aachen specially if you are travelling for business.
Admittedly, I didn't try every single hotel in Aachen, but after having stayed here several times in a row, I really don't see any need to change. The hotel has a pleasant design. It is modern, but has a warm atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and I really like it that I can open a window to get some cool and fresh air flow in. The room has pretty much everything I need. It has a work desk, a big screen TV, a large safe that easily fits a 15" laptop, a water boiler with complimentary coffee and tea, a sofa and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is small, but it has a shower and bath tub, as well as a modern wash basin. The toilet is separate from this bathroom. The entire room is also spotlessly clean. Basic internet access s complimentary. In addition to a Wi-Fi signal, there is also a fixed cable, something I really appreciate. A higher speed connection is available, but there is an extra charge for that. The breakfast buffet is superb. It has many cold and warm food items, all of high quality. I love the fresh German bread and there are several types to choose from. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They always welcome you with a smile and genuinely try to help wherever they can. Having said all of this, there are also some things worth improving, I think. I'm always struggling with the shower head. The space is already very limited, and a bit too small in my opinion, but the construction is flawed. The head will move in any direction and it requires some skill to get it point to where you want it. Definitely something that should be improved. I also think the towels are a bit rough and some more comfortable towels would be appreciated. The airconditioning isn't all that powerful and it can get quite warm in the room. The complimentary coffee isn't all that great. Actually, I don't like it at all and hope it can be replaced by something better. These are pretty small things though and the next time I return to Aachen, I'll definitely hope to stay here again.
