This hotel makes staying at the airport seem far from a hardship. What a historic, lovely gem! It would be wonderful even if we weren't so conveniently located next to Gatwick. Not that you even know the airport is even here in this tidy bucolic pocket.

We had an amazing stay in this boutique hotel. Central to walking to local pubs and Customs House Square for music. Breakfast wonderful and bar very inviting setting.

We stayed one night at The Milner York and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect—just a short walk from the city walls and everything we wanted to explore. Our room was beautifully appointed, quiet, and full of character, with thoughtful touches that made us feel truly welcome. The staff were kind and attentive, and the whole atmosphere felt charming and peaceful. We’d happily stay here again on our next visit to York!

Room was not ready at check-in time. Horrific construction noise in the lobby made it impossible to talk to the front desk staff. The elevator was very noisy, keeping us awake until very late. After making a reservation we were surprised to learn the Bombay Brasserie was far away from the hotel. All of these things diminished our experience at this otherwise fabulous hotel.
