The property was very comfortable and easy access to shopping.

I liked that it was close to TCAT which made it convenient to get to the airport. We did not sleep well because the AC did not work well. The staff is very nice. We were able to store our luggage before check in. Not much to do walking from the hotel.

This is a beautiful, newish property. Pros: - Comfortable stylish lounge for all guests with free snacks and drinks (including a wide selection of wine, beer, spirits, and soft drinks) all day - Beautiful lobby and common areas - Professional and attentive staff - Located 5 minutes walk from the Gora train station so very convenient Cons: - The price was very high - The food was sub par in general and compared to other ryokans in Hakone (the western breakfast was much better than the Japanese dinner) - The style and view from the public onsen was not great despite facing the mountains (e.g. you could see a large factory, and the view of the trees was blocked when you were sitting in the onsen) Overall I would choose another ryoken next time I visit Hakone

Fun experience just to stay at the hotel. I have an 8 year old son who was very into the robots!

Overall, this property worked well for our trip to Tokyo with our family of 5. But there are a couple of things I wish I would have known before going. Be sure to check the number of beds in the listing for your room- not the number of people it sleeps. The room we booked on Orbitz said it sleeps 6, however the room only had 4 twin beds. I assumed there would be a sofa bed or rollaway. When we arrived, we were told that those are not options and that two people were going to need to share a twin bed. We made it work with our kids but it would have been difficult if we had older kids or all adults in our group. We also had to pay for an additional towel set and pillow for the 5th person. The beds are also hard and not terribly comfortable. Since we were sharing beds, none of us slept very well. This is a basic amenities/no frills hotel- and as long as you know that's what you're getting, this is a great option. It's very clean, well maintained, and in a great location. For this trip, we just needed a place centrally located to sleep and this met our needs. Having a washing machine in the unit was a bonus, as well as a kitchenette and table. We were able to cook our own breakfast and not have to eat out every meal. It is a quick walk to the nearest subway stop and we were easily able to get around the city. The small grocery store across the street is also really great.
