Old world charm with modern amenities tucked away by Duke University. The staff were amazingly gracious, and the attention to detail in making sure that hotel guests were comfortable was done in an effortless manner. The impeccably manicured grounds added to the beauty of the whole experience.

The staff here were great. I stayed in a suite that was kind of off to the side of the main hotel area, and there was a very concerning scent of dampness or mold in the hallway area walking over to the suite. It smelled like there was a deeper issue going on in the hallway than housekeepers would be able to address. The room itself was fine and well-kept. I'm writing this review to encourage the hotel management to focus attention on this, because mold scents or scents of something rotting are not what you want on the way to your room.
