I really dislike staying in the off-house. When booking make sure you’re in the main hotel. You cannot control your own air conditioning. It was hot. Dog hair on the couch. Stained carpets. Barking dog in a nearby room. Sink was clogged. Filled up when brushing teeth. Great parking. Love the regular hotel. Just don’t stay in the outhouse.

This was the third year we’ve stayed at Red Hawk during fall break. I discovered the hotel a few years ago and was drawn to it because of the go cart track, bowling alley and arcade for the kids. Perfect for some close activities before bed after spending all day exploring Apple Hill. I’ve always raved to friends about how nice and clean the hotel is, that’s why this year was such a DISAPPOINTMENT. When we checked into our room I immediately noticed how DIRTY it was. There was old chicken wings on the carpet so clearly it hadn’t been vacuumed. There was makeup on the bathroom counter/mirror, toothpaste splatter on the wall, handprints on the headboard, handprints all over the windows and smudges on every table surface. There was even a little poop figurine left behind in the corner of the bathroom so clearly they’re NOT cleaning those floors in between guests either. I had initially declined room cleaning services but ended up telling the front desk how gross the room was and specifically asked if all hard services could be wiped down and the room vacuumed. Well the next day when we returned to the room, our bed had been made, a new flower was created out of tissue in the tissue box and NOT one single hard service was wiped down or cleaned so I’m assuming vacuuming also never happened. Absolutely disgusting and HUGE BUMMER. After this year, will probably consider other options for our stay next year and be a little more weary about sharing this location with friends
